Just on Time

Cyl had just finished informing Philips about the situation and turned his focus to the battle once again. Countless wolves bodies filled the forest.

The three guards with him had various wounds in their bodies, but still kept bravely fighting the wolves, even Cyl was becoming to get tired. He knew that they needed to do, if he was alone maybe he could put a better fight, but if he told his underlings to run away, only death would await them.

Cyl felt that the number of wolves surrounding them still was way too much, this quantity of demonic beasts was seriously too abnormal. What made him even more suspicious was that all of them were at the same level.

-" We will begin to retreat, the three of you will focus on cleaning our back while I hold the front." Cyl decided to move closer to the camp, Philips was coming and he could reach them after helping Luckas easily.

Soon the group began their plan, most of the wolves were in the Cyl front, this made the pressure on him even worse as he was facing them alone right now.

Cyl's sword flashed rapidly as he killed all the wolves who tried to pass him and go for the three soldiers, the group moved slowly at first, but as the numbers of the wolves dwindle, they started to pick their pace.

Cyl was drenched in sweat and blood, he didn't know the exact number of wolves he killed, but he could guess the number was higher than fifty, he knew that the wolf pack couldn't keep like this or they would get wiped out.

But for Cyl's bad luck, it looked like the wolves didn't care for their diminishing number and kept their ferocious attacks.

The three soldiers that were taking care of the few wolves in their path were already panting, Matthew the one who was injured in the sneak attack at the being of the attack could barely keep fighting.

Cyl used his aura to scout the area they were running to, sensing the area, he found out that only a few of the wolves were at their front.

-" Run quickly, we need to find a better position to keep fighting." Cyl wanted to take advantage of the low numbers of wolves in his back to create distance from the pack.

The group speed up again, this time they decided to ignore the wolves and only dispatch those who were too close to them. Cyl noticed the wobbling Matthew and picked him up by the waist.

Seeing this the other two picked up their pace once again, Matthew's injuries made his speed lower, so they decided that they would reduce their as well to not leave their comrade in danger.

While the group ran towards the camp, Luckas was agonizing in pain as the wolf gnawed on his left arm. Blood started to fill his mouth making his breathing rougher.

His chest was torn open by the wolf claws and exposed a huge amount of flesh. If anyone saw Luckas state they would think that the young man was beyond salvation.

Luckas looked hatefully at the wolf, his conscious almost going out when the wolf who was about to bite him once again was thrown in the air.

Moria who know was free from the wolf's relentless attacks swung his axe at the wolf's ribs, the wolf cry woke the almost fainting Luckas once again, his eyes filled the emotion looked at Moria that with his bloodied and mangled eyes stoop up once again.

-" Hold on there, I will finish this fucker and come help you." Worry was visible in his eyes, Luckas body was completely mangled by the wolf, especially his arms.

Luckas wanted to answer back, but he only had the strength to make a soft grunt.

Moria's injuries were heavy too, but as a 4th level body cultivator his endurance was way greater, he gritted his teeth as he endured the pain and dashed towards the wolf.

The wolf stoop up wobbling and roared furiously as he dashed towards Moria. Just as Moria and the wolf clashed a white aura shaped like a sword shoot from the void and decapitated the wolf's head.

Moria was left there staring blankly at the dead wolf, he felt bitter that his big battle had such an anticlimactic end, but, in his heart, he was thanking the unknown helper.

A space tear opened next to Moria, and Philips walked out, he was staring at the wolf with a dark look on his face. With just a look Philips could notice that this wolf wasn't an ordinary demonic beast.

-" Greeting to Sir Philips."

Moria was tense as he noticed who saved him, he wanted to bow, but, now without the adrenaline of the battle, he could feel that enormous burden in his body.

Seeing the soldier greeting him Philips nodded and continued to walk towards the wolf when he noticed Luckas lying in a pool of blood. He quickly approached him and put his hand on Luckas head.

Phillips frowned as he checked Luckas's state, his two arms were shattered, and the young man lost a huge amount of blood. Philips quickly took a potion from his spatial ring and made Luckas drink it.

Philips was relived the arrived now, any later, Luckas could be dead right now. Feeling the effects of the potion in Luckas Philips sighed, he knew that with a high-grade potion Luckas life was safe.

MOria approached Philips with caution, he was making a sad face as he looked at Luckas, at his side Philips took another potion and passed to Moria, the soldier was important in protecting Luckas so Philips decided to give him one too.

Of course, the potion Moria received wasn't a high-grade one, but a lowgrade, even Philips and the Strafhampton family couldn't afford to give high-grade potions like that.

Just as Philips was observing Luckas state, Cyl and his soldier had arrived where Luckas stayed, the wolf pack still followed behind them.

Philips raised his hand and conjured hundreds of small blades that descended on the pack. The blades completely massacred all the reaming wolfs.

The soldier felt relieved that they were sage now, but, before Cyl could celebrate he noticed Luckas lying there next to Philips.
