"Mom..." Robbie said as his mother walked inside their room, hands on her hips. "We're just talking."
"Talking? You call that talking? I could literally hear your raised voices all the way down the hall," the woman remarked and then her eyes turned to Alex. "I told you to talk with him, not argue with him, Alex."
Robbie narrowed his eyes. He could not let his mom do this to Alex.
"Mom!" he scolded.
"What?"
"Stay out of this. This is between me and Alex."
Laura crossed her arms as she stood at the foot of the bed.
"I see," she said as she raised her eyebrows. "So have you two come up with a plan on how to deal with all these? Hmm? Or have you been arguing whose to blame in all these?"
The pair looked at each other. Laura was right. For the past few minutes all they did was argue and never really thought of what to do next.
