Chapter 33: She's in Danger
---------- At the Cathedral’s Main Office
Richard visited his friend that day during work hours. Usually, he would wait until the late afternoon when many of the occupants of the cathedral did most of their prayers that day, but he was not visiting for leisure this time.
“You want to do what?” Tobias asked his friend as he got up from his chair behind his large desk. “I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m willing to accept it. But why do it anonymously?”
Richard intended to make a large donation to the women’s shelter that his friend was the current director of. It was one of the final things he wanted to do for Samantha as a way to make amends for what he had done.
“I just do. What’s wrong with that?” Richard asked skeptically as he raised his eyebrow at his priestly friend.
“Nothing, but… it just seems a waste to me to make the donation anonymously when you could donate it in the name of your company. Would that not help with your socio-economic standing?”
