Plunging Debts

AiLin smiled as she watched the struggling Lu Ping. She tapped to the table, her fingers making a monotonous heart mimicking a heartbeat that made Lu Ping's nerves to go even more awry. They had decided to meet up at the restaurant so Lu ping can be sure that the boss of the loan shark wouldn't dare to harm her. Yet despite the many witness around them, why does she feel as if she had been eaten alive by AiLin and crushed underneath her? 

Fearing for the worse, Lu Ping could only stare at AiLin in fear, "T- That's impossible… that would mean I need to steal from my family.." 

"Stealing is your ability isn't it?" AiLin turned to the woman, surprising her as Lu Ping's face fell into despair upon hearing what AiLin said. 

"H- How do you know?" 

How could she not know? Was an answer AiLin wanted to reiterate but she held herself back. 

This foolish, foolish, woman. Lu Ping was one of the worse bullies that AiLin had to meet during high school. Being Jiang NianNian's closest friend, whatever Jiang NianNian ordered her to do, Lu Ping had done it with full conscience. She didn't even bully AiLin to help Jiang NianNian or to appease and make her friend happy. She had simply bullied AiLin because she enjoyed seeing AiLin suffered. 

It was still fresh in AiLin's memories. How the girl had placed nails on her shoes, causing for her feet to still have wounds of punctures from those metal nails. AiLin recalled again how Lu Ping would also steal test papers and placed it inside her bag, causing for the Jiang Family to hit her almost to the point of her death. Should she forgive this all simply because they were young? 

During her time in prison, her therapist told her to forgive. That those who had done her harms were still a child and know no better. 

Forgive? 

Forgive these people who had made her life miserable? Forgive them because they were once young and now they wanted to make amends? 

Amends? What about her teenage years that had been sacrificed? Her mental health that deteriorate? Those thoughts she had when she was still seventeen wishing to end everything by killings herself? 

It's easy to forget what you have done, it's easy to forget what you have written on a blank paper, but the one who received the action would remember it forever. That paper that had been colored in muddy dark ink still remembered everything clearly. Too clearly even. 

Lu Ping. You and Jiang NianNian still aren't aware that one day karma would chase after you two but that is fine, thought AiLin in her head. Because she had taken the stage as their karma to deal with them. 

AiLin smiled softly. The softer she smiled, the more sinister the gaze that brewed inside her eyes, "If you don't want to do it then it is fine. Make sure to get the money to me tomorrow. Or you would be selling your organs one by one." 

"What?!" Lu Ping shrieked in surprise, "You can't do that.. it's illegal!" 

"Illegal? You have dipped your hands in illegal things too but is it really your time to care whether what I am about to do to you is illegal or not?" AiLin scoffed and rolled her eyes under her sunglass, "Remember this, your family have long abandoned you. Do you really think that they would care even if you are chopped to pieces and all your organs sold off? Maybe they will even thank me for getting rid of an embarrassment like you." 

Lu Ping's face went blue. She immediately stood from the chair and knelt in front of AiLin. Clutching to AiLin's knees, the woman cried and wept, "P- Please don't do this! I- I promise I will pay d- didn't I? If you can just spare me a few more days, I promise I will pay you back!" 

AiLin stared at the hand that held her knees and immediately kicked her away. AiLin sighed as she then pulled Lu Ping by the back of her head, "Listen. I have no mercy to give to you. If you want more days to pay for your debts then give me the land contract that I want as a keepsake. If not then I will wait for your money tomorrow by twelve afternoon. You can make your own decision and come to visit Canary's building tomorrow."

AiLin then stood up and took her bag. Seeing Lu Ping begging on her knees really did wonder as this what she had been wanting to see. But still not enough. Yes. Not enough. Lu Ping hadn't suffered as much as she did. The stress had indeed pushed Lu Ping to insanity but AiLin wouldn't be happy until Lu Ping really did go insane. 

What would be more painful to Lu Ping who is now an embarrassment? 

How about having the entire world turning their back to her? 

Just like she did to her, AiLin sure the despair Lu Ping felt after today would be far greater than she could ever imagined. 

"I'm sure you know what will happen if you run away, don't you?" AiLin warned with her smile. "I'm a busy woman so make your own choice." 

Lu Ping wailed as she saw AiLin walking away. Fear drenched her back as she wrecked her head. How can she steal that contract?! Her family's business wasn't something she usually cared but stealing that contract means she would also be destroying the plan that Jiang NianNian had. Although her entire family had turned back at her, Jiang NianNian had always managed to help her out, always giving her money for her to pay her debt. She can't possibly betray her own friend! 

Biting down her thumb, Lu Ping tried to find a way. She had trusted Canary not knowing that there was someone controlling the loan shark who is far more frightening than Canary herself!

Angrily, Lu Ping smashed her phone and called to Canary. Once the line had connected, Lu Ping yelled, "What's the meaning of this, Canary!? I thought you told me I could be at ease borrowing all the money! Y- Your boss threatened to sell off my organs! And I thought I could trust you!"
