Mutant wolf aura mode activated
Drayan looked for a house, to be his temporary shelter. He decided to stay in a house with a white wall with cracks and two windows at the front of the house. Drayan left his backpack at the white house and started to explore deeper into the city of 'Dallen'.
As he walked, he noticed that the scenery around him had changed a bit. The buildings were covered in vines.
But besides the vines, what caught Drayan's attention the most was seeing a bee being hanged by the vines. The vines were like tentacles crushing the bee's body the size of an adult leopard.
*Wait! Do vines have life?!*
That simple thought made Drayan pale, as if he had lost all the blood in his body.
Seeing this scene was enough for Drayan to understand that he had just entered the most dangerous place in the city of 'Dallen'. The ground, the buildings, everything around them had vines.
Everything posed danger, and Drayan was at the center of it all that.
*I'm fucked!*
As expected, the vine whips stretched towards Drayan.
Drayan leapt when he sensed danger, and avoided the vines on the ground that tried to wrap around his foot. In the air, another vine came swiftly, like a spear being wielded by an armored knight.
Drayan used his dagger as a shield to prevent the vine from piercing his chest. The vine collided with Drayan's dagger, causing a roar of wind. Drayan felt that a truck at full speed was trying to run over him.
The vine was too strong and its bone dagger broke into pieces. The explosion caused Drayan to be pushed to towards a building. Drayan crashed through the wall of the building, rolling across the floor.
With no time to rest, three vines, as long as a snake, rose in front of Drayan. Sensing danger, Drayan jumped back, dodging the vines that pierced the ground.
The vines were faster than Drayan, however, the vines' attacks were easy to predict, as they always looked at Drayan before attacking, and then attacked straight ahead, using a frontal attack.
*What the shit are these things?!*
The three vines looked at Drayan as they slithered back and forth, like a true snake in motion, before striking.
Drayan was hesitant to summon the wolf, when Darkening could be caught just like the bee. He wouldn't risk losing the Darkening after losing Grassh.
Drayan could use Cent, but since Cent is a creature driven only by hunger, Cent could end the vines, and destroy everything around him, but it wouldn't do much good.
There's something controlling the vines, and Drayan has to find out what it is.
The best way he found to escape this situation is to use the complete fusion genes, also known as aura. But he was hesitant to do so for only one reason.
Using the aura for more than three minutes would cause him to become a cursed human being.
There is a legend, which says that after you eat an evolved creature, and use the complete fusion genes to merge with its cells, the soul of the creature that is inside you, which cannot rest in peace, will curse you forever.
But that's not true, what makes the user 'cursed' is the loss of identity.
Aura mode makes a fusion between your cells. The from Drayan cells fuse with the wolf cells.
With smelting, in addition to Drayan having his own abilities, he can also have all of the Darkening physical attributes, such as strength, speed, wits, stamina, and abilities.
But after three minutes, the stronger cells begin to devour the weaker cells. Drayan's cells are only highly evolved cells, while Darkening's are low-level mutated cells.
There is a huge difference in power between the two, so Drayan's cells would easily be devoured by the wolf's cells.
But Drayan's cells can last for three minutes before being devoured. Within three minutes, Drayan must immediately undo the fusion between his cells and the wolf's cells.
But if Drayan stayed longer than three minutes, Darkening's cells would feed on Drayan's cells, and Drayan would lose his identity.
Drayan's body would permanently have Darkening's cells, and Drayan would become a ferocious beast with animal instincts. More precisely, he would become a Zast. A human being with the mind of an animal.
Drayan would think it was an animal because it had its human cells replaced by the creature's cells, so Drayan would act like a wild beast.
It's risky to activate the aura mode, but Drayan can have a mutant level body when he activates the mutant wolf's aura mode, so it's a risk worth taking. All Drayan needs to do is not stay in aura mode for more than three minutes.
Drayan took a deep breath and made up his mind. He closed his eyes and activated the mutant wolf's aura mode.
His body sought only the mutated wolf's genes and nutrients to make a modified in his body.
As much as they are similar, the aura mode is not the same as the full body mutation genes, which allows you to become the creature, creating the body of one. In aura mode, you maintain a human body, with a few simple body changes, and have the ability to have most of the creature's abilities.
Already the full body mutation genes, makes you transform into the creature, but still with your human consciousness, and also does not have your cells devoured. It's an improved version of aura mode, and also much more powerful, but that doesn't mean it's safe, as there is a consequence to using that kind of genes.
Drayan and Darkening's cells merged and created a new modified cell. Drayan reached a new level of power.
Drayan felt an immense strength fill his body, it was as if he had just gone through a process of adapting to a new body, or even a surgery, or rather, as if he owned someone else's body. Drayan felt that he had possessed the mutant level body.
The strength that entered his body, filled his arms, and made Drayan think he could lift three stacked trucks. Drayan's body felt light as a feather.
The vines moved towards him, but Drayan didn't move, his eyes were still closed, processing all the power he had just acquired.
When the vines were close to reaching his face, Drayan opened his eyes, which were now golden. With one stride, Drayan slashed through the vines, slicing them into three pieces with his claws.
"They're already dead? How easy."
Drayan looked back, and saw the vines lying on the ground. He looked at the vines with contempt.
Drayan was different. In addition to the change in the color of his eyes, Drayan's pride was inflated and his fingernails grew 3cm long, his teeth were now long and pointed.
His arms were muscled, and so were his legs.
"Is that a mutant-level body?"
Drayan touched his own body, wondering if it was really his body.
"That body is great!" — He clenched his fists.
Drayan is stronger, however, little by little the animal instincts are dominating his mind without him realizing it.
Drayan stormed out of the building's room, running like a wolf, cutting down any vine that got in his way.
With his newly gained agility, he easily dodged the vines, as if predicting the trajectory of attacks in a split second.
Drayan jumped left and right, running with his hands on the ground as he dodged the vines. Ten vines stretched out like spears, and tried to hit Drayan.
But Drayan is too fast. Drayan leapt over the vines, ducked his head, turned his body, cut through the vines. He did all this, while continuing to run non-stop.
The creator of the vines, she was a plant of the Carnivorous species. Drayan was smelling the plant to find its location.
The problem is that, Drayan was walking in circles, the plant was somewhere in that region, but he didn't know where.
There were so many buildings around it that it was hard to tell which building the smell was coming from. In fact, the smell didn't seem to be coming from a building.
But the smell in the air is close to some building, or from several.
When Drayan was lost, not knowing where the smell was coming from, the ground under his feet shattered, revealing a huge creature with an open mouth, with large and pointed teeth.
The 30 meter long creature was about to swallow Drayan, who was falling directly into the mouth of the giant carnivorous plant.
The plant leaped like a whale, and swallowed Drayan's small body.
