Chapter 11

The clock had already turned 5pm before Mo Luhan finally came back to his office. And when he opened the door and saw her in her light-blue dress he was stunned for a moment. But he quickly collected himself and cleared his throat before saying, "Are you ready?"

Lin Yun Xi nodded and put away her phone before she stood up and walked over to him. As she got closer she could feel her heartbeat become heavier and faster. A gentle blush appeared on her face as her eyes focused on his broad chest.

Mo Luhan's gentle gaze never left her face. She was seriously pretty, he thought and couldn't help himself from patting her head. "Let's go."

At the Mo Estate.

Su Wang was glowering and looked very displeased at her husband who was currently entertaining his old friend, Mu Guang. Apparently they had met at the airport and immediately made plans for him to come over for dinner. He didn't even bother calling her and warn her beforehand. Then her eyes traveled to the beautiful girl, Mu Ping, who was standing next to her father. Their intentions behind their visit was as obvious as the sky was blue. She frowned as she thought about her darling Lin Yun Xi. How would that shy and quiet girl react upon seeing a love rival at their supposed family dinner? She pondered whether she should call her son and cancel the dinner. But before she had any chance to do so she heard her son's car pull up in front their mansion.

Mo Luhan and Lin Yun Xi walked up to the front door holding hands and just as they reached the door, the butler opened it for them from the inside. "Welcome home, Young Master and young Miss Lin."

Mo Luhan and Lin Yun Xi entered the entrance hall and was immediately met with Su Wang's sour face. Su Wang threw her son a hint that there was trouble while she gave Lin Yun Xi an apologetic look before she walked over to her and hugged her. "Welcome to our home, Xi'er." She said quietly.

Lin Yun Xi felt every bone and muscle in her body tense up when she was suddenly embraced by Mo Luhan's mother. Then her sense of smell was attacked by her strong perfume which made her feel like she couldn't breathe.

"Mom. She can't breathe if you hug her so tightly." Mo Luhan came to her rescue.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Xi'er. I was just so happy to see you." She stepped back and looked at the girl. Now that she saw her dressed up, she couldn't help but feel even more love for the girl. "You're so pretty." She said and gently stroked some strands of hair behind her ear.

Lin Yun Xi forced a smile as she was currently bombarded by noise from her new environment and the close proximity of Mo Luhan's mother.

Suddenly a raucous laughter broke out from the living room and shortly after a man in his fifties came out from the living room, the smile from the previous laughter still hanging on his lips. He was a tall and well-built man with short hair, if one didn't know he was a business man one would think he was a military man. He walked over and stood next to his wife then he nodded towards his son and said, "You're here." In a tone which was hard to determine what the mood behind it was. Then the man looked over to the pretty girl who stood next to his son. He stared at her for a long time before he finally nodded.

Lin Yun Xi grasped at her dress and bit her lower lip before she curtsied cutely and said, "I'm Lin Yun Xi. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Mo Luhan's father glanced at his wife and smiled approvingly.

Su Wang sighed and said, "This silly man is my husband, Mo Lian." She then grasped Lin Yun Xi's hands and said, "Don't worry he's not dangerous it's only his mouth that is loud."

Lin Yun Xi smiled and nodded.

Mo Lian frowned upon hearing his wife's introduction of him. "What do you mean my mouth is loud?"

Su Wang grabbed his arm and pinched him. "Come on, let's go inside." Then she pinched her husband's arm again before saying, "Ah, we have a few more guests joining us for dinner. My husband met an old friend at the airport and invited him and his daughter."

Mo Luhan frowned upon hearing this and shot an angry glance at his father. He truly wanted to kick him in the shin at this moment but didn't and instead grabbed Lin Yun Xi's hand and squeezed it gently.

Feeling someone's burning gaze behind him, Mo Lian scratched the back of his head and made an awkward chuckle.

When they entered the living room, the two other guests rose up from the couch. A third person, a young girl, no more than 9 or 10 jumped off the couch and scurried over and was about to cling to her big brother when her feet suddenly stopped. "So pretty." She said as her eyes locked at Lin Yun Xi in adoration.

Mo Luhan smiled and ruffled the girl's head. Then he glanced over to Lin Yun Xi and said, "This is my little sister, Mo Ling Ling."

Lin Yun Xi only smiled and nodded toward the girl.

Then Su Wang introduced the other two guests. "This is my husband's old friend, Mu Guang, and his daughter, Mu Ping." Then she grabbed Lin Yun Xi's arm gently and said, "This is Lin Yun Xi, my son's girlfriend."
