Chapter 50: Vanguard Action Squad (3)
{3rd Person POV}
A couple of minutes before Saiba and Jiro encountered the nomu which had stored Ragdoll inside it, Midoriya saved Kota from getting killed by Muscular. During their fight, Muscular, who was confident in his ability to take down Midoriya, asked him if he knew where Bakugo and Saiba were.
After defeating Muscular, Midoriya took Kota with him towards the campsite for safety. On his way he started to think about the motive behind targeting Bakugo, as Shigaraki had already told him that, when Shigaraki meets them again it will be for killing him and Saiba.
Midway to the campsite, Kota saw Aizawa running towards them, so Kota told Midoriya "Hey, look."
Seeing Aizawa, Midoriya shouted at him "Sensei!"
Aizawa stopped his run by skidding "Midori--" But he stopped continuing after seeing the beaten up condition of Midoriya.
"Sensei, I'm glad... It's terrible! There are a ton of things I need to tell you." Midoriya said as Kota got off from his back.
"Hey--"
"First, there's something I need to tell Mandalay..."
"I said"Hey "."
"Please take care of Kota! He has a water quirk. You have to protect him! Please!"
'This guy's on a high adrenaline.'
And not waiting for a reply, Midoriya ran towards the clearance, but was stopped by the words of Aizawa ``Wait, Midoriya! Those injuries...You did it again, didn't you? Did you forget about what happened in Hosu?"
"No, but.."
"So tell Mandalay this: Everyone in Class A and Class B! In the name of the Pro Hero, Erasure Head, you are granted permission to engage in combat!" Aizawa told Midoriya.
"Alright sensei!" With the message in his heart and the warning for Bakugo and Saiba, Midoriya darted towards the clearance where Mandalay was.
Aizawa picked up Kota and went back towards the campsite to get to safety. On his way, he thought about what Akainu said 'The way he said that makes it clear the students are the target. In that case it's unavoidable. It's about raising the survival rate! Use your self-defense skills, I'll take responsibility for this, along with whatever punishment is coming later.'
As he was running he heard Mandalay conveying his message to everyone. 'Don't be defeated while we still don't know what's going on, future heroes!'
'I forgot to tell Midoriya to come back right away. This is bad. This is worse than bad. The only reason he's able to move with those injuries right now is because of all the endorphins pumping through him. He won't be able to move after finishing his goal.' Aizawa suddenly realized. A couple of meters later, the second message from Mandalay was heard by Aizawa and Kota.
Aizawa squinted his eyes, as the names of his students were heard, that too, two of the most powerful ones in his class. Shaking off the bad feeling and trusting his students, Aizawa increased his speed.
When he was nearing the campsite, he saw something flying above the trees going in the opposite direction of the campsite into a large distance. Looking in the direction of the camp, Aizawa muttered "What the hell was that?"
Increasing his speed, Aizawa ran into the camp as fast as possible with Kota. When he reached the classroom, he saw an unconscious Ragdoll on the desk, and on the floor he saw Saiba hugging Eri in an unconscious state.
Looking at Vlad King, Aizawa asked "What happened here?"

As soon as the telepathy message from Mandalay about the villains were heard, Aizawa told Vlad King "Vlad, I'm leaving this place to you. I'll go and protect the other students!"
Without waiting for a reply from Vlad King, Aizawa darted out of the remedial classroom to take down the villains that had started the attack and protect his students. 'I don't want to think about what could happen.'
As he got out of the building, Aizawa saw forest fire in the distance and said out loud "This is bad!"
"Letting your worry get ahead of you, Erasure?" A voice was heard from the side of his and a right fist of pure magma was thrown at Aizawa.
Skillfully scaling the building using the scarf, Aizawa narrowly escaped from the magma fist.
"Akainu!" Aizawa shouted from where he was positioned looking at his attacker,
With a sneer, Akainu spoke "Well, I guess you are a pro, after all."
As Akainu extended his hand to throw out another magma fist, Aizawa activated his quirk and said "Nothing's gonna come out."
Jumping down from his position, Aizawa immobilized and tried to drag Akainu towards him, but Akainu didn't budge from the spot.
Not minding that, Aizawa went towards Akainu using his scarf and landed his knee on Akainu's face. Even though that broke his nose, Akainu was still having his sneer and asked Aizawa "Is that all you got?"
"Strength beyond human standards without considering the quirk. You are one tough dog." Aizawa said as he tied up Akainu in a standing position.
Then, Aizawa asked him "Tell me your purpose, number and positions,"
"Or what? Gonna break my arm? With that strength?" Akainu sneered at Aizawa.
Gritting his teeth, Aizawa tightened the hold on Akainu and said "Don't test my patience."
"Are you in a hurry, Erasure?" Akainu said as he tried to activate his quirk again, which was stopped by the quirk of Aizawa.
Just then a rumbling noise was heard from the distance, raising his head in that direction Aizawa asked "What's that?"
"Sensei!" The voice of Iida made Aizawa turn his head towards it and saw Iida carrying Eri with him, along with Ojiro, Koda and Aoyama "You guys!"
In that gap, Akainu escaped from the clutches of Aizawa and looked at the newcomers. With a mocking smile, Akainu addressed Aizawa ``As expected of a U.A. teacher and a Pro Hero. Hey, Aizawa. Are your students important?"
Aizawa tried to tighten the bindings on Akainu again, but it passed through him and he started to dissolve into some kind of sludge. Seeing that Aizawa was surprised and thought to himself 'Wasn't Akainu's quirk lava?'
"I hope you can protect them all till the end. See you later..." Akainu bid farewell to Aizawa as he fully dissolved.
"Sensei! What was that just now?" Ojiro asked Aizawa.
Running past them Aizawa told them "Get inside! I'll be right back!"
Iida, still holding Eri in his hands along with his classmates, ran into the building as fast as possible.
Getting in they met Vlad who was outside the classroom who asked them "How many?"
"Two at the clearing, and Aizawa sensei just defeated one guy just as we got here." Iida replied.
"Alright, get in." Vlad told them and the five of them got inside the classroom.
Vlad closed the door on his way in and said to everyone "You guys be calm and sit down, we got this."
But no one sat down, and they were pacing around due to the rising tension. Vlad, seeing all this thought 'What are their motives? Other than attacking us, there has to be something or someone----' He had to stop his thought process as Mandalay's telepath message was heard.
'We have discovered two of the villains' targets. It's two of the students-- "Kacchan '' and Saiba! "Kacchan '' and Saiba should try to avoid combat and acting independently. Understand, both of you?!'
"Bakugo?" "Jojo!" Kirishima and Eri were horrified to hear that the villains were after both Bakugo and Saiba.
"Sensei! Let me go out there and support them!" Kirishima asked Vlad as he walked upto the closed door.
"No. I'm not losing sight of you lot." Vlad denied his plea as he stood in between Kirishima and the door.
"Sensei, you heard Mandalay's Telepath, right? My friends are being targeted. Please, let me go to them!" Kirishima tried again.
"No." Vlad denied again.
"Why not!?" Kirishima asked Vlad, not understanding the situation due to his emotions.
"Stop it, Kirishima." Ashido tried to stop Kirishima from doing anything reckless.
"Sensei, if we do not know how many villains there are, then wouldn't it be better to have as many people fighting as we can?" Iida asked Vlad.
"Hey are you trying to fight the villains?" Ashido asked Iida.
"Yeah, that's right. Even Aizawa sensei said to fight, didn't he?" Kirishima asked Ashido.
"That is for self-defense. It was so everyone could get back here." As Vlad said that, the room became silent.
Suddenly, the door rattled, but it didn't open. And as everyone looked at the entrance, Sato asked "Did someone come?"
"Do you think Aizawa sensei came back..?" Ojiro asked.
"Perfect timing. I'll go ask him directly." Saying that Kirishima went to open the door. But he was stopped by Vlad "No, wait. It's not him!"
*boom*
Just as Vlad said that the door was blasted open with a fist covered in magma, and the splinters from the door spread out. Everyone took cover from it in order not to get injured.
Vlad jumped away from the door, while holding Kirishima and Ashido in his both hands and faced towards the door with his back towards the students. Eri was shielded by Ojiro who was near her using his tail.
Seeing Akainu coming into the class, Ojiro said "That guy... Is he the villain that was defeated earlier?"
Raising his right hand with magma, Akainu was about to throw his hands at the students and Vlad. But Vlad grabbed Akainu by his face and slammed him on to the wall "You're too slow!"
Then Vlad used his quirk blood to immobilize Akainu on to the wall by solidifying the blood.
"You're pushing hard into a place like this without thinking? You're really underestimating us, Akainu!" Vlad told Akainu.
"And why wouldn't we? You're acting exactly like I thought you would. You all lost the minute you lost the initiative. The pinnacle of hero education, U.A., and the Symbol of Peace, All Might. The two most trusted figures of hero society, gathered together. If multiple incidents keep putting that trust into question, then don't you think that will shake the society as a whole? Sloppy management that keeps allowing attacks to get through, and in the end, being so weak as to allow a student to die and taken away by a criminal group." Akainu said his piece in a leisurely manner.
"Is that why you are targeting Saiba and Bakugo?" Kirishima asked Akainu from the back.
Sneering at that question, Akainu said "Saiba is the target that has to be tormented and Bakugo is an entire different case."
Just as Kirishima, Kaminari and Iida were about to react to that, a foot was planted on the face of Akainu with great force that it turned into something similar to a sludge and Akainu started to dissolve.
Then, the figure who destroyed Akainu dived straight towards Eri, who was losing her control over her quirk after hearing that Saiba was being targeted.
"Saiba!" Kirishima recognized him and tried to call him out, but Saiba held Eri as tight as possible and absorbed the energy coming off of her.
Seeing that, Iida asked "Saiba! What's happening?"
"He's protecting us. Eri is losing her control over her quirk, and I don't know how, but he's preventing that power from affecting us." Vlad told them as he placed Ragdoll on a table after picking her up from Jiro.
As he finished that, both Eri and Saiba lost their consciousness and Aizawa along with Kota came into the room. Seeing Saiba and Eri on the floor, Aizawa asked "What happened here?"
"Eri lost her control over her quirk and Saiba tried to contain it from affecting us." Vlad said.
Aizawa checked on both Saiba and Eri. Then he used his quirk on Eri to stop her from unconsciously using it.
"Are they alright, sensei?" Jiro asked Aizawa.
"Yeah. But they won't be waking up soon. It'll take some time." Aizawa said.
"Erasure, where were you anyway?" Vlad asked him.
"Sorry. I was planning to give orders allowing the students to fight, but I ended up taking care of Kota. Take him for me. I'm going out to the front lines. Vlad, I'm counting on you to keep defending this place." Aizawa said.
"Wait, Erasure. We still don't know how much they'll come at us." Vlad said.
"You'll be fine---" Aizawa was about to say, but was interrupted by Jiro who said "No he won't! There are two nomu's out there!"
"What did you say?" Aizawa asked Jiro, as he was not expecting nomu here.
"We saved Ragdoll from a nomu at the test of courage route, it was a green one and it had weapons instead of hands and it had four or six hands! And Saiba threw another one from the entrance of the camp far into the forest." Jiro completed.
"You're saying that the thing that appeared at U.S.J almost came in here and they are out there?" Kirishima asked her as he was horrified.
"Yes!"
"Did you incapacitate it?" Aizawa asked her.
"I don't know, the green one lost its limbs and head, but it can regenerate, about the other one, I don't know." Jiro answered Aizawa.
"That's it! No one is leaving here, Iida and the rest, I believe you will defend the camp. l'll go and help them out." Saying that Aizawa left the campsite and ran into the forest to help the students.
