CHAPTER START---

SHAMBLES!

On a suspiciously empty highway leading into Musutafu, Horizon appears, still sitting on his chair.

Mindjack stands beside him, looking around clearly confused.

"What are we doing here?" he asks Horizon, seeing his classmate leaning back in his chair.

SHAMBLES!

Horizon warps a few feet to the side, placing himself in his seat toward the side of the road, leaving Mindjack standing in the middle lane of this three-lane highway.

"You plan to explain anything?"

"High-speed chase incoming," Horizon says as he points up the road. "They'll be here in less than a minute, try not to fuck it up."

"What is this, a tryout?"

"Pretty much, can't keep any dead weight around."

"Great," Mindjack sighs. "Put a guy with a vocal Brainwashing Quirk, to stop a high-speed chase."

Horizon takes out his phone, getting a message from Sero who just woke up.

"Your Quirk wore off, after almost 9 minutes, not bad," Horizon says.

"Told you, I've improved a lot."

"Uh-huh, now show me some more in-field practical applications," they hear and see the cars approaching, one car being chased by two police cars.

"How close are the cop cars to the villains?" Mindjack asks.

"100 Meters -330ft-."

"Then they should stop before this bothers them," Mindjack reaches for the pouch behind his back, resting over the sheathe for the Tanto behind his waist. Exactly like Eraser Head's.

He takes out a handful of razor-sharp Caltrops and prepares to throw them.

"Caltrops? Classic...very classic, but effective."

"Why fix what's worked for thousands of years," Mindjack shrugs.

Seconds later the car comes racing down the highway, directly at Mindjack.

He raises a palm toward the car while holding Caltrops in the other.

"Stop the car and get out!" he yells, hoping one of them responds.

Instead of responding the one person in the car only speeds up, intending to run over the hero.

The man was so distracted that only at the last moment did he look to the side, seeing Horizon sitting on his classroom chair, casually watching this unfold.

The man's head turns to watch Horizon do nothing as he sped into where Mindjack stood.

But by the time he got there, Mindjack already dove out of the way, dropping Caltrops where he stood moments earlier.

POP!

The front tires are blown out causing the man's face to snap back to the front of the car.

"AHHHHH!" he screams as the car begins to swerve, slamming on the brakes and pulling the emergency brake.

The car skids for a while then comes to a stop, and the cops stop their cars just ahead of Horizon, stepping out and opening the doors, using them for cover as they draw their guns.

The villain hops out of his car with nothing but a pistol and his idiotic hopes of escaping this, using his vehicle for cover.

"Leave me alone!" the man screams, staying hidden on the other side of his car.

"Uh, sir?" One of the cops sees Horizon doing nothing and approaches him. "Are you here to help?"

"I'm supervising for now," Horizon gestures to Mindjack who was sprinting up to the scene.

He runs past the cops, "hold fire," he says over and over. "Nobody is going to get hurt, just let me deal with this."

The police officers glance at each other, having never seen this hero before, but since Horizon was with him they didn't bother to ask questions.

SHAMBLES!

Horizon warps in front of the police, appearing in his chair beside Mindjack who was also standing in front of the barricade of cars.

"Ok, this is your specialty, try not to get anyone killed..."

"That's the plan," Mindjack says.

Taking a deep breath he steadies his mind, then speaks loudly for the villain to hear him, nearly 100ft -30m- away.

"If you surrender peacefully nobody has to get hurt!" Mindjack says.

They don't hear anything for a few seconds, then the sound of metal being crushed.

"Oh great..." Horizon says in a bored tone. "He's trying to fight."

"NghhAHHHH!" the villain's car suddenly flips through the air as he sends it tumbling toward the police barricade.

"Takt!"

Without moving Horizon catches it in mid-air, seemingly exerting no effort.

The police officers that dove for cover peeked out, feeling slightly idiotic for reacting like that, when they knew Horizon was sitting in front of them.

"Just give up!" Mindjack yells as he stands his ground, the villain who was not 10ft -3.04m- rushes toward them.

"You give up!" the villain responds, and his body immediately freezes up.

"Brainwashing complete," Mindjack says.

"Took you long enough," Horizon says as he drops the car to the side of the road. "Wrap this up, class is about to start..."

"Deactivate your Quirk," Mindjack commands, and the man obeys, shrinking to his usual short self. "Lay on the floor, hands behind your back."

The man does exactly that.

"Officers, he's all yours, he won't be able to control his body so long and nobody hurts him, you've got a few minutes," Mindjack says.

One of the men looks toward Horizon, and receiving an approving nod he turns back to the other, "get the Iron Maiden, let's lock this guy up."

Within a minute the villain has a reinforced special metal alloy brace wrapped around his torso. Like a metal straight-jacket preventing him from expanding or using his arms as they wait for the armored transport unit to come to deal with him.

"Sorry but we can't stay here and wait for the armored unit," Horizon says as they're all standing around. "They should be here in a few minutes anyway..."

He walks up to the villain and places a hand on his shoulder.

"Counter Shock."

"NGH!"

The villain's body convulses as he collapses to the floor, completely blacked out.

"There, he won't be going anywhere, now, Simon, let's go..."

"It's Mindjack."

"Well, Mindjack is a stupid name, and it isn't catchy. You need something catchy and thematic, but also a bit tough and marketable."

"I'll think about it," Mindjack says as he sees Horizon sit back in his chair.

He walks up to Horizon who casually puts a hand on his arm.

"Have a good day gentlemen, and stay safe," he says to the cops. "Shambles."

Arriving back in the now full classroom, all eyes fall on Horizon and Mindjack.

SHAMBLES!

Shinso's Hero Costume is swapped with his uniform once again, and he gives Horizon an annoyed glance.

"Well, how'd I do?"

"It's a start," Horizon says. "We've got some work to do but yeah, I can make it work."

Shinso actually gives a small smile at that, nods, then walks to his seat on the other side of the room.

"What was that about?" Tokoyami looks to his left at Horizon.

"There was a car chase, and he went to stop it, that's all."

"But you went with him..." Momo speaks up from behind him. "Was it that bad?"

"I was just checking in on his progress, I did help him train during the Summer Camp after all."

"Well I guess that makes sense," Jiro, who was standing behind him at Momo's desk says. "Anyway, we were discussing what Mr. Aizawa probably has in store for us today, since its the first day and all."

"I'd think it's something extreme," Momo says. "Consider our first day at UA included the Quirk Apprehension Test, maybe another such test to mark our progress."

There was an excited spark in the classroom at that suggestion, most of the class wants to see how far they'd come since those 5 long months have passed.

As they all begin muttering Sero spins around in his seat, "what was that about earlier?"

"I'll explain during lunch, but we might have a new guest in the tower," Horizon says quietly.

Sero's eyes widen for a moment, then return to normal, "happened a lot sooner than I expected."

"Yeah, me too..."

After a few more seconds, Horizon sees Kirishima about to get up and start yelling in excitement and decides to cut this short.

"Shut up!" he silences the room. "Eraser and All Might aren't even here right now so we probably won't have anything like that until they're back, sit down and get ready for homeroom."

"Awe," Mina puts her head down in disappointment. "I was hoping to start this semester with fun, not boring classwork!"

"You need the book time more than anyone else Pinky."

"Well, I'm still hyped up!" Kirishima stands up and yells. "Today we learn more about the Work Studies and the Pros we'll be working for, it's gonna be awesome!"

The entire room begins clamoring, making theories, and sharing the heroes they hope they can work with.

A few minutes later the door slides open, and Midnight walks in with her hands behind her head, showing off her body for the students to see.

"Good morning my lovely darling students!" she gives them a dazzling smile, "and Horizon..."

"Tch, morning saggy..."

And the entire room falls silent, as if they could see the petty and vicious lightning sparking between Midnight and Horizon.
