MHA:Concept Gear

A soldier, conscripted for world war 4, dies tragically on the battle field…not After hearing a coworker drop a large stack of papers Erin Atkinson dies of an unfortunate series of events. Just like that 4 years of army logistics work gone. Well at least she got her MagikaVR account to max level, could have died before that and died unfulfilled. With a new start and a quirk that has theoretically limitless possibilities how will she fair in a world where any random teenager could have a city leveling power hiding inside them. =================================== New fan-fic following my dissatisfaction with my previous novel. I’m hoping to increase my writing skills through this fic. A slightly upscaled and more ‘realistic’ version of MHA. Expect hero’s to have kill counts, even All Might, and for the general power level to be higher. I guess this will be technically an AU as I have not seen the more recent seasons of MHA nor read the manga. So past the sports festival arc expect the canon to diverge slightly more then normal fics. Their will be no babying of class 1-A, Erin is a soldier at the end of the day and she’s here to take names. There will be a minor psychological element, not as heavy as my previous novel but still there as I believe that reincarnation and death will always take their toll on someone. I don’t own MHA or anything else except my OC. Cover art isn’t mine either the artist can contact me if they want it taken down.

Chapter 19: The Crawford Family Influence

[] Speaking English

{} Speaking German

Everything else is Japanese unless otherwise specified. (I won't be doing honorifics)

==================================

After ordering, in perfect English much to the surprise of the staff, I sat and spoke to grandpa. I was trying to fish for hints on what we were doing today, unfortunately he wasn't giving up anything.

After about 5 minutes Nana walked down the stairs. At roughly the same time the staff came out with the food. Nana walked over and sat next to grandpa.

"Good morning Ayah, good morning dear."

"Good morning Nana."

"Hello dear."

"So… what are we doing today Nana?"

After she finished ordering she turned to me and smiled slightly, in the same infuriating way mom did when she kept little secrets from me.

"Well we have a press conference this morning, and for the rest I suppose you'll just have to wait and see."

Sulking slightly I looked away and started eating my food. All while listening to grandpa and Nana discuss who would be attending the press conference, and wow, that list was extensive.

All the big press in England along with several ministers from the British government would be in attendance, the weirdest part by far was how casually they talked about all of it. Like just casually mentioning that the crown would be sending a representative like it didn't even matter.

It was quite eye opening considering that, despite knowing the family history and wealth, I didn't think that we would be this influential.

After breakfast, Nana had me go upstairs and change into what she called 'appropriate clothing' before leading me to a hall with a raised stage at the from and filled with chairs. After about 30 minutes journalists and camera crews began to arrive, after another 20 or so minutes limousines with the various officials in attendance began to arrive. Nana dragged me and grandpa to each of them introducing me as her granddaughter. All of my introductions were followed by questions like 'Does this mean your daughter is coming back?' Or 'Is she your new heir?' A lot of them, especially those with sons my age were trying to snag me in anyway possible just for the connection I assume.

Eventually we walked over to a rather aged and fat man with a boy around my age, maybe a little older, standing behind him. The following introductions told me that he was the head of the QRRC in England and that the boy was his grandson. While him and Nana began to discuss something I noticed the boy slip out from behind and walk up to me.

After arriving in front of me and giving me a quick glance up and down he reached for my hand before trying to kiss it.

As I watched him do this I began to consider my options. I couldn't kill him that would be an over reaction, using my quirk illegally in front of the English head of the QRRC would be foolish so that was also off the table. So that left me with mundane means of showing him his place. I was currently deciding between judo throwing him over my shoulder or using a disarming technique to put him in a arm lock.

As he got closer and closer to my hand I decided that an arm lock would probably cause to many problems, while a simple judo throw would be much faster.

Grabbing his wrist and bending my knees slightly I pulled him off balance and towards me before using his momentum to throw him over my shoulder. (A/N: I have no experience with any kind of martial art whatsoever, this is my best guess after two minutes of googling.)

*Bang!*

He hit the ground hard, producing a loud bang that silenced the whole room and drew everyone's attention to the boy writhing on the floor.

The guys dad immediately stopped talking to grandma and ran over to check on his son. Meanwhile Nana turned around and looked at me in surprise and disappointment.

"Ayah what did you to the boy?!"

"He just grabbed my hand out of nowhere so I reacted off instinct and defended myself!"

Her facial expressions rapidly shifted before settling on exasperation.

"Ayah you can't just do that to people even if they do suddenly grab your hand. God, it's like dealing with your mother all over again."

While I would ask questions about that comment later I got pulled away from the conversation by someone suddenly grabbing my shoulder.

What happened next wasn't my fault, while with the boy I made a conscious decision to teach him a lesson this time I truly did react out of instinct.

Taking the hand on my shoulder in the alternate hand I rammed my elbow back into their diaphragm before pulling them over my shoulder and placing them in an arm lock. While my other hand, now free, formed a knife that I placed on their throat.

This all occurred in around two seconds, by the time I regained control from my instincts the QRRC English division head was kneeling in front of me with a dagger at his neck and his right arm twisted behind his back.

Looking up I saw Nana looking at me in horror. I quickly let go and dissipated the dagger.

Looking around at all the people looking at me with a mix of emotions ranging from awe to terror I did the only logical thing I could do. I formed a full body cloak enchanted to be invisible and disappeared.

I quickly ran up to my room and began to pack my things. After all there was a chance that I needed to flee the country after that fiasco. I didn't want Nana and grandpa to get in trouble so I would just leave.

Midway through packing grandpa burst into the room. Turning around I saw him looking at me with disappointment…. or not?

Standing there with a huge, prideful grin upon his face stood grandpa.

"That was amazingly executed Ayah! No wasted movement and quickly neutralized the perceived threat. Good job!"

He then seemed to notice that I was packing my bag.

"Oh are you worried that your in trouble? No, no Mr. Davis is an old family friend, he was actually incredibly impressed by what you showed off and started to ramble about how each generation is stronger then the last."

"But Nana looked so horrified…"

"Yes, she was horrified because of how unladylike your actions were she's probably stressing to herself right now about how she'll never be able to get you married just like your mother."

Hearing that I both sighed in relief but also a little disbelief about just how much Nana believed in fixed gender roles and all that. Like I knew it was bad but arranged marriage bad?

"Anyway Ayah, your grandmother will fix the issue downstairs with all the reporters. Meanwhile I was wondering if you wanted to take a quick peak at the martial repository?"

Quickly abandoning my attempts to

re-unpack my luggage I closed all the drawers before practically skipping out the door.

"Well what are you waiting for? Let's go!"

==================================

Hello I'm back! For those who care I was gone because I had managed to pinch a nerve up near my shoulder blades that caused most movement involving my arms to be extremely painful. Stacked on top of that I came down with the flu, all around sucky time for me but I'm better now. Back in school and back to writing.
