The same scene from yesterday repeated as people stepped out of their homes, adorned in unique costumes and brandishing self-made signs, from a handful to hundreds of individuals, marching down the empty street. But, within an hour, it was all over.
The crowd made its way toward the city hall, shouting and waving their signs with enthusiasm as if they were true justice advocates instead of just being pressured to join in.
However, this is a common occurrence throughout history. In every era, only a select few possess the charisma and independent thinking to lead the masses forward. If everyone were to possess such qualities, the world would become chaotic, with no one to follow and everyone leading.
"Ahem." Alex coughed twice, snapping back to reality. The sight below him was overwhelming and filled him with a sense of satisfaction and excitement, knowing that his actions played a part in it all.
"Are you ready?" Brian asked, appearing behind Alex.
"Of course! I've been eagerly anticipating this day for a long time," replied Alex with a nod.
"The only drawback is that I can't see their reactions in person."
"You're such a devil," chuckled Brian. "Do you enjoy watching people's faces turn red in anger?"
"How can I be the devil?" Alex retorted, with a sly grin spreading across his face,
"I paid a hefty sum for them to know the truth, not to be misled, and without expecting anything in return."
Brian's eyes widened in shock, "They will be getting a hard knock?"
"It's for their own good," Alex replied seriously, his eyes shining with fierce determination.
"Preaching is useless. A broken bone is the best lesson."
"Without that, they would have forgotten all about it in no time," Alex continued, his voice rising with passion.
"But now, the whole world will remember it. It will be preserved for centuries, maybe even written into history books. Let them know their shame and be brave!"
Brian was astounded, "You still say you're not a devil!"
Just thinking about the aftermath of Alex's actions made Brian feel a pang of sadness for the future generations of the French people, not to mention the blow the country's tourism industry would take. People from all over the world would point fingers at them.
But he couldn't help the excitement that was building up within him.
Bryan had nothing to do with America, really. In the movie, every American soldier was depicted as sacrificing their life for the country, loyal to the core.
But Bryan was definitely not one of them. He might have had such thoughts when he was young and naive, but now he had seen the shadows and darkness that lurked beneath the bright exterior of things.
People had a destructive desire hidden in their hearts, usually bound by morality and ability. But when the opportunity presented itself, it was unleashed, and now it had reached Bryan's threshold. He couldn't help feeling overwhelmed at the thought of being able to cause such a stir!
At that moment, Bryan understood why Alex was so passionate about this kind of thing, and he couldn't help but admire Alex's ability...
He couldn't believe that he had never heard of Alex's reputation. The such ability could only be honed through countless trials and practice. And combined with Alex's age, it was clear that he had been training since a very young age.
"Even if I am a devil, I am a devil with good intentions," Alex said with conviction.
Just as Alex finished speaking, his cell phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, Alex shot a mischievous grin at Brian and answered the phone.
"Director Fury, I'm about to wrap up everything you tasked me with, and now it's time for the final piece," Laurent's voice came through the speaker.
"Do you have any second thoughts?" Alex's voice deepened and took on a commanding tone, giving the impression of a powerful mastermind behind the scenes.
"Sacrificing for my beliefs is an honor, not a burden. I have no reservations," Laurent replied confidently.
"Good, go ahead. The organization will never forget your name," Alex replied, his tone full of pride.
The conversation had been revised on the fly by Alex, adding a layer of drama to the exchange and giving Laurent's actions more impact.
After all, Laurent was just a pawn, and the more he could achieve before his inevitable demise, the better. Using a person in this way didn't faze Alex in the slightest. Allowing them to serve a higher purpose was kindness in itself.
Snapping the phone card in half and tossing it in the trash, Alex turned to Brian.
"Are you ready for something that will shake France to its core and capture the world's attention?"
For events of this magnitude, Brian was an indispensable accomplice. Having just one of these moments in a person's life was a great achievement.
"Let's get started," Alex nodded, a glint of excitement in his eye.
Their feet were firmly planted on the grounds of a French TV station building.
