He hadn't eaten for more than four hours now. His stomach was void of even water at this point.
His eyes went to the crab carefully placed at the center of the table, the aroma sized his nostrils causing Derek to gulp as he stretched his hands, but before he could touch the steaming meal, his eyes flashed.

"Derek, go wash your hands first"
"But mom!" a child hollered with pitiful eyes, but his mother refused to budge. "Go wash your hands, young man"

Derek blinked rapidly and took his arms back, he could remember always doing the same thing once he saw those crab legs, the memories of how delicious it was would cause him to rush to the table sometimes even going as far as bribing his younger brother and taking his share.
Pressing his lips together, his shoulders dropped, and he stood up. After washing his hands, he came back again, and this time, nothing was stopping him from relishing this sumptuous meal.
