CHAPTER 9
After changing clothes, Lily went to the parlor where the crown prince is. She wore her same indifferent expression, neither depressed nor lifeless. Whilst knowing the prince would instantly barge in her chamber, she just let it happened and did nothing about it. Right. Even if Amaranth witness them doing something, it has nothing to do with him.
"Primrose, bring us some refreshments." She orders the maid behind her. Primrose nods her head. She had been acquainted with Lily since she was 9.
The girl had been serving her through every hardship and struggles, even when Lily went to the barracks she would also come to help and serve her. She knew the lady she served back then had already gone due to the curse of the elder witch.
Every day she feared that her master's emotions, expressions and rationality would fade. She had witnessed the change of behaviors, temperaments and way of thinking of the duke every day. But she still had hopes in finding the cure of the curse, like everyone who lived in the mansion.
After I ordered the maid, I hasten my steps. To make this all stop and so that I could have some peace of mind, I need to make sure the crown prince would leave and never return here. He likes to ruin my moods and always annoys me. Damn. Hope he won't talk nonsense and some boring stuff, especially politics. That subject annoys me as much as he annoys me.

The guard opens the door.
What I saw when I enter was a young blonde man drinking tea leisurely, and munching chocolate cookies. I didn't know he had already asked my servants to bring him some snacks. His shameless. He treats my mansion as his home.
He noticed my presence and immediately spoke in a gentle voice, yet I could trace some resentment and jealousy behind it. "Lily, you're wearing a turtle-neck dress. It suits you well."
If I hadn't known, I would have thought it is a compliment. Heh, he is such a nice actor, but I need you to leave here as soon as possible. "Cut to the chase, what do you want?"
I hate nonsense and flowering words. It is one of the things why I hate royals, they sure knew how to be two—faced bitch and bastard. One time they care about you and then next time never hesitates to dump you like trash. The truth is, they only cares about their reputation and won't give a damn about you if you're useless and no use to them.
"Lily, you're the same as ever. Always cold towards me." Amaranth smiled to hide his feelings, but too late Lily saw his mouth cracked. It is no use, no matter how good you are in concealing your true feelings I will always notice it.
"Amaranth, if you had nothing useful to say, you better leave."
"Are you throwing me out?"
I know his angry, but I don't care. I'm not the one to be treated lightly. But now is not the time to keep up with his nonsense. "Yes, so you better say something important, not useless ones."
The words I use to refute him got on his nerves, and he slams the teacup on the table, breaking it in the process. He gave me the stare he used when he is in killing spree mode. My pride won over me. I didn't back down, soon we are engaged in a staring contest. Amaranth's face was clearly red, so as his eyes. What! Wanna kill me with that stares of yours? Dream on.
This time he slams his fist on the table. It splits in half. How dare you? I frown, showing my displeasure.
"Lily, you better fix your expression too. I know you don't want me here. But is it okay to kick me that way?"
I didn't speak because I have no intention to argue with him. He just wants to vent his anger to me. Bastard. I watch him kicks the table, still unbothered with his act, I diverted my glare. He moves forward to lessen our distance while I keep on maintaining my expression almost saying, 'so?'
When Amaranth was successfully near me, he whispered in my ear. "You know I'm still the crown prince and what's more I'm your general so you better behave obediently towards me."
Of course, I didn't hear anything, nor am I planning to. He was so close and his cool breath touched my ear. I had an illusion for a moment that he was tempting me. Because of the closeness and the way he whispers, I accidentally sighed seductively and close my eyes while laggardly moving my head upward. "You're enjoying this, do you? Your weakness is so evident." I could feel his gloved hand pinching my jaw gently and his gaze at my face. Like last time, I still didn't listen to any words and threats he spat out. My senses are blocked, I now only follow my body's commands and wants.
The man lowered his head again and rip the fabric that's covering my neck.
Hu. Huu. Amaranth's ragged breath hits the crook of my neck. Damn it. It's so good, it feels good.
"Duke Ally… Oh, my! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to! I knocked on the door!" The maid Lily had asked for refreshments earlier, exclaimed. Her voice woke me up from my trans. Now I can clearly think and comprehend our situation.
"It's okay." Amaranth smiled innocently, the maid blushed and bowed her head.
Damn. I got carried away by his charm. He is like his mother, they are both nymphs.
Nymphs had the charm to make everyone flustered. Her mother the empress used her charms to get 'that' position. Well, what can the poor emperor do? Neither do I know how to feel love, gets charmed by a bastard nymph, what's more of that lustful old man?
If the emperor heard the girl's thoughts he will criticize her, 'Meh, you're lustful too'
"Leave us," I said, unbothered by our closeness. He was still close to me. Even when the maid showed up, he didn't move an inch away from me. Shameless.
"Do you like me to kiss your neck? Or your whole body?" he playfully asked me, at the same time played with the fabrics that were left to cover my neck.
I only stared at him with a bored expression. "It's an offer. I'll give you pleasure while I get to stay here like it's my home. Hmmm… what do you say?" He smiles gently with twinkling innocent eyes. What a great deceiver.
