Back at Empire City,
Alex has just finished having the last meeting for the day and was now signing documents with Raal and Kevin beside him. They were waiting for orders from Alex. He finished signing the last document and covered it and then put the pen aside. He looked up at Raal and Kevin.
"What did you find at her place?" he asked. Now that all of his meetings were all over, he could finally sit down and hear what they wanted to tell him.
What they had to tell him was not much but it was their tutu and responsibility to report everything to him, however big or small, important or not they had to report it all to him especially now that it was about his mate.
"Alpha," Raal began, "While we were at Luna's house, we didn't find much but we know that the woman whom she lived with was her mother's twin sister, Evelyn, she has raised Luna since childhood, and probably the only family that Luna has."
"What did she do for a living?" Alex asked. He was no fool to not know that the woman would not have been any simple woman to have been able to keep Lillie alive for so many years even when they were constantly being hunted. There must be a hidden identity.
"We couldn't find anything on her, alpha, not even a single document in the house said anything about what she did," Raal said, he felt incompetent for not being able to find out this little detail for his alpha.
"But we know that she has been looking for something or someone. We are not sure yet." Kevin chimed in. Alex turned to him and looked at him asking him to continue wordlessly.
"We found out that there are surveillance cameras all over the city and its neighboring cities including the city of Empire and its central station being her bedroom, from what we saw, she must likely study the supernatural creatures all over those cities," Kevin said.
"What do you think she was looking for?" Alex asked. He was deep in thought trying to remember everything that Cecile had told him about the time she met with Eva and Kyle Lillie's parents, she did not mention anything about Evelyn to him.
"If my guess is correct," Raal said as he looked at his alpha successfully getting their attention to himself. "I will say she was looking for you, but that is most unlikely because she does not know anything about you or about the fact that her niece is our Luna," Real said with uncertainty in his voice. From what he knew the woman did not know that creatures like them existed until last night. Or so he thought.
"I believe she knew?" Alex said. His words were so unexpected that they shocked the other two people in the room.
Raal's head snapped to him with an obvious question in his eyes which he still voiced out. "How is that possible? Even Kevin and I didn't know anything about it."
"The prophecy," Alex answered curtly.
"Huh? What prophecy? Kevin asked as soon as Alex mention the word 'Prophecy'.
"Cecile had a vision about it a while back before she was born and informed her parents about it. I believe that the woman must have told her sister." Alex said.
Raal and Kevin looked at each other and frowned. They looked at him in disbelief. How come they knew nothing about this? Were they his beta and gamma? Why did he not tell them about it? They could have helped him keep the family safe and watched over them while he was away. He would not have lost their whereabouts if he had told them. Sighing inwardly, they accepted the fact that it had already happened, and they could not change a thing about it.
"What else did you find?" Alex asked.
"We found this... " Real said and pulls out a grown file and placed it on the table. "This contains her birth certificate and some other credentials. She is a student of the University of Empire, majoring in arts."
Alex picked up the file in his hand and opened it. He took out her birth certificate and read the information on it. When he saw her name, his lips curled up to give a smile. He realized that he still didn't know her name. He was yet to ask her and she didn't bother telling him perhaps it was because she thought they won't see each other again.
"Lillie.... " he said, his smile still on his face.
He liked how the name sounded. How it rolled freely through his tongue out of his mouth. "Nice name, just like her scent. It suits her." He said to himself. He read through it again and his gaze froze on the date written on it.
From what he saw, she had just turned eighteen today and everything that happened took place around midnight which meant that these creatures did not just hurt her but did it on a day that was supposed to be a happy day for her. His heart felt heavy when he remembered the state he found her in.
He then puts the certificate back into the file and placed it on the table
"Look into the school and find out if there is anything that she needs, take care of it. And if there is any threat in that school that will harm her, also take care of it. I don't want her worried and stressed." Raal and Kevin nodded at him.
"Take these back and keep them the way you found them. She might want to go back and get them herself." Alex said as he prepared to leave." And investigate more about her aunt, she didn't learn how to fight and teach someone else inside her bedroom."
"We will continue with the investigation, as soon as something comes out, we will let you know," Real said and Alex nodded to him.
They left after that and went back to the villa. While Sales and Kevin stayed back at the villa, Raal went back to the city of Horizons to return the documents as he was told to do.
********
Earlier inside the Villa,
Lillie refuse to eat the food that was brought to her, she said that she didn't want to eat with her enemies even if one of the saved her he was still an enemy to her., She rather kept pestering Cecile to help her leave the villa so she could go home.
"I want to go home, Cecile, please help me. I don't belong here, I need to go home." She said holding Cecile's hand in hers." I don't know where this is but you do and I don't have any money on me you have to help me." Lille pleaded.
I am sorry Lillie, I can't do that. It is Alexander whom you should ask. Wait until he comes back then you can ask him to send you back." Cecile said looking apologetic at her. She knew that Lillie had the right to go home but she could not bring herself to set her free when the long has asked her to watch over her. Lillie had the right to go and bury her aunt but she could defy a direct order from the king and she could not ignore her queen either So she could try to reason with her. Alexander would be livid if he came back and did not see her.
You need to eat so you can have the strength to attend your aunt's funeral after Alex comes back and takes you there." Cecile tried once again but just like before, Lillie did not have a change of heart but rather asked a question instead.
"You are not a shifter, why do you trust him so much? I have seen how faithful and loyal you are to him." Lillie said and looked into her eyes while waiting for an answer.
"I have to serve him," Cecile said truthfully. "Besides, it is my duty and responsibility, and a respect him a lot too. I have been with him long enough to know that he is the one person whom I can count on when things are bad and he will not abandon me."
"You should trust him too. His reason for saving is good and for the benefit of the two of you. I will live to tell you but I want you to ask him yourself and he will tell you everything or wait for him to tell you on his own accord." Cecile said and caressed the back of Lillie's hand.
