14. He found her

Somewhere at stat crossed city,

A man was walking down the hallway of a huge manor with long and hurried strides, ignoring all the servants that stopped to greet him like he never saw or heard them. He continued walking until he got to a room and opened the door and entered inside.

In the room was a man sitting on a leather-armed chair with his chin resting on his knuckles, his skin was so pale like he had never been touched by the rays of the sun before. Sitting in that position, he looked like a statue, a well-defined statue with sharp facial features and grey eyes that were so lifeless. His long and dark hair fell over his shoulder to his lower back.

He lifted his eyes a little when he heard the door being pushed open. He saw a young man come in and shut the door behind him right after. But he still made no change to his position, his face devoid of any emotions.

"Father." the young man greeted.

"Why are you here?" the man asked. His voice was cold, lifeless and domineering. I would send chills running down the spines of all those who heard him but that was not the case with the young man. This was his father whom he grew up with, there was no way in hell he will fear him. They say blood is thicker than water don't they?

Ignoring his father's distant and aloof attitude he spoke plainly, "He found her." he said and looked at his father. "Everyone you sent was dead before I got there, but I believe that the woman is dead." He said and waited for his father to say what was on his mind.

The man looked up at his son's worried face when he received the news and sat up straight with a blank face devoid of any emotions.

When he didn't get any reaction from his father after a minute has passed, he asked, "What do we do now, father? Do we change our plans?"

"Baladan!" The man called.

"Yes, father?" he answered and waited.

"Rest assured, we will not change our plans but rather we will only make some adjustments to them. Everything will end the same. His finding her only confirms that our target was right." He said and Baladan nods in agreement. "As for the woman," he continued, "it's good news, she has caused enough troubles for us to deal with." he and something that looked like a smile flashed across his face but disappeared faster than it had appeared.

"For now do as I have instructed you." He said and closed his eyes.

"Yes, father, will do. Baladan answered." I will take my leave now." And left right after that.

Immediately Baladan was out of sight another figure entered the same room and sat down. Without permission, he made himself comfortable across the man.

"Your king has found his mate, shouldn't you join him and welcome your queen?" he asked the man who just entered.

"I never knew that Azrail, Lord of the vampire's card so much about the Lycanthrope! The man said as he picked up an empty glass from the table and a bottle of wine. "Why don't we go together then? After all, she needs to know all of her subjects," he said as he smirks.

Azrail chuckled grimly, then said, "Of course, I care, why do you think I know so much about the Lycanthrope?"His countenance changed and suddenly became serious again as he asked, "How long do you think we can fool them?"

The man was silent for a while as he puts the bottle back on the table. "I think until the plan is executed." He replied after some thought.

"What about the priestess? Sooner or later, she will see everything. How do you intend to keep her visions all mixed up?" Azrail asked. The only threat to their plan was the priestess, if she sees into the future of what was happening then their plan was as good as a failure.

"The witches are taking care of that as we speak," The man answered and took a sip of the wine in the glass, "Don't forget that they have been doing this for a while now."

"Very well then, you should leave before you are found out, you are still needed for the plan to succeed," Azrail said. The man nodded and gulped down the rest of the wine and stood up to leave.

"My lord!" The two men who just entered the manor greeted respectfully with their heads bowed to a man with blonde hair and brown eyes sitting comfortably in front of them.

He gives a node of an acknowledgement as a sign that they could proceed. One of the two. Men are forward to giving the report.

"My lord, King Alexander has found his mate, she is a human girl from this city, an orphan girl between the age of seventeen and eighteen. She lived with her aunt since she was a child." The man paused to take a breath. "He found her during an attack last night from rogues and vampires and she lost her aunty to the attack." The man concluded.

"Where is the girl now?" Lord Ares, the dragonlord asked.

"She is with the king, my lord." The man answered. "I don't think she knows who she is to him yet."

"Did you find out who her parents were?" Ares asked.

"Yes, my lord. They were the couple whom the vampires kill about fourteen years ago inside a car in Starcrossed city." The man answered.

"Were they the couple from the prophecy?"

"Yes, they were, my lord." the man replied again.

Lord Ares chuckle upon hearing that and mumbled, "One's destiny truly can never be changed no matter how hard others try to change it. I wonder how Azrail is taking this news." He thought out loud.

"He must be thrilled to hear such delightful news. He would have never thought that he would lose even before he begins." Ares said to himself and nodes.

With the thought of Azrail, he looked at the second man who has been quiet the whole time and asked him to speak.

He steps forward and bows his head. "My lord, all that there is to say has already been said."

"Very well, thank you for the report. Now return and keep watch, I have a feeling that things will become a little more interesting from now on." Lord Ares said and the men nodded.

"Be on alert at all times, just because we are not getting involved does not mean we have to let our guard down. No matter who gets hurt or who is hurting who, do not interfere unless it involves our people, do I make myself clear?" He asked.

"As Crystal, my lord." they both answered at the same time.

"Good. You may leave."He dismissed them and they left immediately.
