The Survival of the Fittest

Qin Yue and the other three flew at high speed in their mecha. They headed straight for the energy junction where the exchange took place.

Not long after they left, they had lost sight of the port where they had landed in.

Instead, they now had a clear view of the original appearance of this desolate planet!

Looking around, there was a boundless sea of sand everywhere.

There was no sign of life anywhere. Other than sand, there was nothing else!

At that time, it was exactly ten in the afternoon. Two massive, merciless, and scorching stars shone down fiercely on the desert. From time to time, hurricanes would sweep up gusts of sand.

If one took a closer look, amongst the vast sea of sand, there was a huge skeleton of an Alien Beast some distance away. Within the skeleton were smaller beasts that scuttled about inside as they fought over whatever scraps they found.

Other than the skeletons of these Alien Beasts, there were also the remains of mecha and even those of humans.

That desolate desert truly exemplified the saying "Survival of the fittest"!

It was a law that meant only the strong survived, and the weak were left behind!

"Everyone, how are you holding up?"

Qin Yue observed the situation in the desert while he contacted Ling Ru and the others.

"Not bad, we can all adapt to it. However, there are so many skeletons in this area. It's so scary!" Ling Ru shivered and replied.

"We're doing fine too. We've all prepared in advance!"

"As long as you're all fine!" Hearing that a few of them could adapt to this environment, Qin Yue was relieved. At the same time, he increased the throttle on Sky Hunter's controls to speed up the mecha's movements.

At that moment, Ling Ru's sarcastic voice came from Qin Yue's communicator.

"Qin Yue, didn't you tell me that you've never seen the outside world before? How are you so calm?"

"Little Brother Qin Yue, I'm also quite curious. Do you have any tricks that you can share with us?" Tang Lin also joined in.

Qin Yue pondered for a moment and slowly said two words.

In the desert in front of them, the two giant fortresses were thousands of meters away from each other but they slowly moved toward each other.

From a distance, the view of the two gigantic fortresses was taken in by Qin Yue and the others as they watched in awe.

"The destination is right in front of us. Speed up and move forward!"

With a shout from Qin Yue, everyone sped up again and rushed to the energy exchange area at high speed.

Qin Yue was the first to arrive. He discovered that at the energy exchange tunnel, there were two brigades of Bodyguard level mecha that stood guard. 

There were a total of 100 mecha and pilots.

The Mukda Federation's mecha organization was made up of five mecha in one squad. Five squads would then make up a squadron and two squadrons were part of a brigade.

The moment Qin Yue landed on the ground, two mecha suddenly walked towards Qin Yue and issued a warning.

"Unidentified mecha, stop and state your intentions!"

"Unidentified mecha, stop and state your intentions!"

"Unidentified mecha, stop and state your intentions!"

After they issued the warning, the two mecha blocked Qin Yue and their hands were already on their weapons.

Seeing that, Qin Yue explained calmly, "Hello, we are pilot cadets from Planet K10's 101st Mecha Academy of the Mukda Federation government. We are here for the trial, and we bear no ill will."

After the other party heard Qin Yue's explanation, their tone softened, "Please wait a moment, we need to verify your identity."

A minute later, the two mecha in front of them stepped aside.

Just as they reached Qin Yue's side, Ling Ru started to tease, "Qin Yue, what kind of speed is that? Yan Yan and I are both high-speed mecha, but yours isn't, yet it's faster than our mecha!"

Li Yanyan explained in a low voice to Qin Yue, "Sister Ling Ru, have you forgotten that brother Qin Yue's spiritual power is higher than ours, and his mecha is also slightly better than ours. Of course, he'd end up ahead of us."

"Of course I know that, I was just teasing him," Ling Ru said with a light smile.

Qin Yue did not care about that. After all, he could tell that Ling Ru and the others were just joking. They did not harbor any ill intentions.

Ling Ru asked curiously through the communicator, "Qin Yue, do you think that with the number of people from the two brigades here, will it be easier for us when we hunt the ferocious beasts?"

Qin Yue did not answer the question immediately. Instead, he glanced at the mecha of the two brigades in front of him.

The moment he glanced at them, Qin Yue felt that they were constantly vigilant and their battle readiness was very high.

As he said that, Qin Yue shifted his attention to the high-altitude energy exchange channel.

Soon, the energy exchange channel was completely connected.

Through the channel, the sky-blue energy visible to the naked eye was being transmitted.

"Ling Ru, Yanyan, Tang Lin, Wang Jun, it's starting soon. Get ready for battle!"

The moment the link was completed, Qin Yue and the others went from their slightly relaxed mood to a battle-ready stance.

At the same time, high above the two fortresses where the energy was being exchanged, a crimson-silver mecha watched Qin Yue and the others.

The pilot of the silver mecha was none other than their instructor, Wang Yangming.

Below the Mecha, the port staff member said seriously, "This beast tide is not something these new students can handle. The number of casualties are usually very high!"

"Don't worry. These students of mine are not ordinary geniuses. I have confidence in them," Wang Yangming replied confidently.

As soon as he finished speaking, a blue screen filled with red dots suddenly appeared in front of Wang Yangming. 

Those red dots represented none other than Alien Beasts!

Unfortunately, Alien Beast detection equipment was not something that low-level mecha like the Bodyguard class would usually include in their load-outs so the mechas below were completely unaware.

Wang Yangming had noticed the Alien Beasts approach, but he did not inform Qin Yue and the others. After all, this was still a trial.

What he wanted to see was how Qin Yue and the others would react when faced with such an overwhelming tide of Alien Beasts.
