7. Differing Opinions

(A/N: So, some of you asked about the lover for MC and since there are quite a few I've decided to let you guys decide. So give your suggestions in the comments.)

Tony, Bruce and Kabir were in a lab as they are doing they are trying to get the location of the Cube as Bruce and Kabir were scanning the staff.

"It looks like the power comes from the gem." Kabir said as he looked at the gem.

"It has quite the unique energy signature." Banner said as he looked at the screen.

"It is made of some things that we know but it has a lot more unknown elements in it." Kabir said as he kept on scanning.

"Probably space elements, do you think we should cross-reference the data of the elements from asteroids?" Tony asked the two as he ate candy.

That got Bruce and Kabir to look at each other before shrugging.

"I'll take a look." Kabir said as he went to a corner of the room as he accessed the files.

He went through the data regarding the elements found in the asteroids that had hit Earth, however they didn't have much since it is rare for asteroids to be still intact after coming in contact with the atmosphere.

"Well, there are a few but not much." Kabir muttered to himself as he kept on looking.

Steve entered the lab which caused Kabir to glance at him before he went back to looking through the screen. The three seemed to be talking but Kabir decided to have more attention on his own job.

"I did not get trained for this but I just have to adapt. The alternative is slavery and that's the last thing I want." Kabir muttered to himself as kept on searching.

After he was done with that he took the data to the two scientists who were impressed by the data. Tony offered to help in some way due to how quickly he had managed to compile all that data without an AI. He also learned that Steve went away after talking with Tony as he learned about what they talked about.

"Tell me you don't think the same." Tony said to him as Bruce watched.

"Well, if I didn't then I would've called you out when you were planting your device." Kabir said to him.

This got him a chuckle from Tony while Bruce was surprised.

"You let me hack SHIELD." Tony said amused.

"Oh please, you'd have done it anyway." Kabir said with an eye roll.

"Touche'." Tony said with a chuckle.

"You two don't trust Fury do you?" Bruce asked them.

"I don't have a good grasp on his personality so no. Besides, SHIELD is under the world government which is another reason why I don't trust SHIELD that much." Kabir said to him.

"I'm glad we share something in common." Tony said surprised.

"Yes well my job is to protect my country from threats both outside and inside. Just didn't think that I would now be trying to protect the world." Kabir said to him with a smile.

"What can we say, it happens." Tony said to which Kabir chuckled.

After that they started on their work as they managed to find a way to pinpoint the location of the Cube. When they were talking with each other Fury walked in asking Tony what he is doing. To which Bruce replies that they will have the location of the Tesseract in a few minutes.

"With that said, what is phase 2?" Tony asked as he looked at the screen in front of him.

That was when Steve put a gun on a table catching the attention of the scientists and soldier as Fury looked down.

"Phase 2 is SHIELD using the Cube to make weapons. Sorry your computer was a bit slow." Steve said to them.

"Well, at least it helped." Kabir said to them.

"Roger we gathered everything connected to the Tesseract, we needed—" Fury tried to salvage the situation but was interrupted by Tony.

"I'm sorry Fury, what were you saying?" Tony asked showing a blueprint for a weapon.

"That doesn't look like HYDRA now does it?" Kabir said as he looked at the director.

"I'm sorry director. The world hasn't changed. It's still the same." Steve said as Thor and Natasha entered the lab.

"Did you know about this?" Bruce asked Natasha.

"Do you feel uncomfortable here?" Natasha asked him.

"I was doing pretty fine in Kalkatta." Bruce said to her.

"Loki is manipulating you." Natasha said to him carefully.

"And what have you been doing exactly?" Bruce asked her.

"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you did you." Natasha said to him as she got on guard.

"It looks like I will come like that because you became a little twitchy. I want to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction." Bruce said as he pointed at the blueprint.

"Because of him." Fury said pointing at Thor.

"Me?" Thor said confused.

This caused Tony, Steve and Kabir to look at Fury.

"The last year Earth had a visitor from another planet with a grudge mass that levelled a small town. We not only learned that we are not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned." Fury said as he is looked at by the others.

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet." Thor said to him.

"But you're not the only people out there are you? And you're not the only threat." Fury said to the God.

"The world's filling up with people who can't be matched. They can't be controlled." Fury said to them.

"You mean like with the Cube?" Steve said to him.

"Did it occur to you that we might not like to be controlled?" Kabir asked him with a raised eyebrow.

"Your work with the Cube is what drew Loki to it. And his allies. It's a signal to all the realms that the Earth is ready for a higher form of war." Thor said catching the attention of Steve and Kabir.

"Wait, higher form of war?" Steve asked surprised.

"Are you talking about a war between species or planets?" Kabir asked the God.

"Yes, and I tell you that the Earth is not ready for it." Thor said to them.

"He forced our hand. We had to come up with something." Fury said to him.

"A Nuclear Deterrent, cause that solves everything." Tony said causing the others to look at him.

"Tell me how you got your fortune Mr. Stark?" Fury asked the billionaire.

"No no a higher form of war? Did you even hear what he said? The Earth is not ready for it. I mean if only SHIELD has weapons of this level then it won't stand a chance against other worlds like Thor's which have the same level of advanced technology all around their world. If Earth were to go to war then we will be easily destroyed." Kabir said to them.

"Yes well, that is problem." Bruce said to them.

"Well if he still sells weapons then he would be neck deep." Steve said causing Tony to look at him.

"Oh is this about me now?" Tony asked surprised.

"Isn't everything about you?" Steve fired back.

"I thought you humans were more evolved that this." Thor said as he laughed a bit.

"Do we go to your planet and blow stuff up?" Fury asked him as he turned to look at the God.

"You do not give your champions your trust." Thor said to him.

"Are you boys that naive? SHIELD monitors potential threats." Natasha said to them.

"Captain America and Sergeant Kabir are threats?" Bruce asked incredulously.

Then they started to talk more proactively with each other while Kabir stood to the side as he decided to keep his mouth shut as he knew that provoking the others would not be good.

'This is why it is hard for humans to work together with other races, now it's a matter of species.' Kabir thought to himself.

The talk continued as Kabir then caught the sight of the gem of the staff glowing causing him to look at it.

'It should not be doing that should it?' Kabir thought to himself as he looked at the staff.

Outside SHIELD a group of soldiers/mercenaries were coming towards the Helicarrier as Clint got ready with his bow.
