Chapter 24: Birth of the First Avenger

Early in the morning at Camp Lehigh, New Jersey.

Andy is riding an army jeep with Colonel Chester Philips and Dr. Abraham Erskine to visit the candidates of the super soldier program.

Last night, he talked about purchasing the hover car from Howard Stark, but he didn't sell it to him because that one in the show will be in his collection so Andy can only wait till he made another hover car.

He also left after some talking and drinking with him, it's also because the training of Steve will start today.

"So Mr. Westeros... what is gotten into you and decided to visit the training camp?"

Colonel Philips were wondering how this guy suddenly decided to show up, Andy is known for his lazy attitude and not actively participating in SSR operations, he is worse than his friend Howard Stark when it comes to work.

If not for he is a rich and influential bastard, he already kicked him out from SSR. unfortunately, even the higher ups is his backing.

"Of course, i'm interested in seeing the candidates from Projecr Rebirth program and cheering for my friend... is not that right, Dr. Erskine?" Andy smile and involved the silent doctor.

"....."

Dr. Erskine is bewildered why he suddenly got involved.

"Shit.... Don't tell me, your friend is the guy invited by Dr. Erskine." Col. Philips expression turned bad, maybe with Andy's influence, he will support that stick guy to be chosen for the super soldier serum.

Even Dr. Erskine is surprised that they were friends, he remember that Steve is just a poor guy and Andy is an influential rich man.

"That's right, Steve is my friend... don't worry, i will not interfere, probably." Andy grinned showing his white teeth, it annoyed Col. Philips even more.

"We are already near to the training ground, sir." The driver reminded, the two of them stop talking and look at the front.

In the distance, you can see the candidates lining up and in front of them is a woman in milirtary uniform handing out a folder while confronting one of them.

It seemed that woman and the candidate is arguing about something, but the woman suddenly punched him in the face and knocked him down.

"Woah! Good punch... that's my girl." Andy walked to her after stepping down from army jeep and open his arms for a hug.

The woman was startled and turn to look back seeing Andy, she shot back and raised her fist saying. "Baaah... who is your girl, do you want to get a punch."

"Well, Agent Carter,you two can flirt each other later.... and you, get your ass up out and stand in line." Chester Philips said with a bad expression, he really wants to reprimanded the two but he cannot do anything to Andy and instead scolded the guy that Peggy knocked down, it's more important to introduce himself to the candidates of the program.

Andy held the hand of Peggy Carter and step to the side, making way for Colonel Philips.

"Can you let go of me, it's embarassing to be seen by them." Peggy Carter is feeling ashamed seeing the candidates looking at them, she thought maybe they were wondering about the sturdy woman earlier has now showing a girlish vibe.

Andy can only let go of her, then he saw the dumbfounded expression of Steve and nodded at him.

Steve also recovered from shock and also nodded at Andy, he didn't expect to see him here but for some reason, he is feeling uncomfrotable at the sight of Andy and Peggy holding hands and flirting each other as if he lose something important.

Andy doesn't know what Steve is feeling now, even if he knows, he will not care because he is a hypocritcal friend. if he is not, then he will not involved Bucky in his plan and spared him from torture that he will gone through later.

Chester Philips started to talk to the candidates, after some inspirational speech when he said the word 'best men' he especially look at Steve Rogers and then to Dr. Erskine and Andy.

With the end of his speech is the start of the training program that will take a weeks.

Andy on the other hand accompanied Peggy Carter as assistant/driver on her duty to assesed the candidates qualification, watched Steve perservering despite struggling to keep up physically in the training and getting bullied by his fellow candidate soldiers.

While driving the army jeep, He and Peggy also watched the famous scene of Steve outsmarting other candidates by taking out the pin of flag pole and succesfully got the flag to get a free ride.

In the last day of the training, Andy, Peggy, Col. Philips and Dr. Erskine is watching the candidates doing jumping jacks excercise.

At some point, Col. Philips and Dr. Erskine started arguing of who is the first getting injected by the super soldier serum.

Chester Philips is in favor to Gilmore Hodge, not only because he is physically strong and a qualified soldier, he knows to listen to order, but Dr. Erskine doesn't support him because to him, Hodge is just a bully.

Col. Philips is not feeling good to doctor opposition, to prove his point, he grabbed a dummy grenade and throw it to the candidates and shout. "Grenade."

The candidates quickly run away and hurried to find covers, Steve Rogers quickly jumps onto it and used his body to save others from explosion while shouting "Get away!" and "Get back!".

Peggy Carter was also surprised and want to save him but Andy just hold her and shook his head, Peggy also realized that its just a dummy grenade.

After the commotion calm down, Steve also look aroundd and ask them. "Is this a test?"

Col. Philips and Dr. Erskine look at each other.

"Well, he is still too skinny." Col. Philips walked out after a slap in the face.

At night, Dr. Erskine visited Steve in his barracks to tell his life experience and the effect of serum that "Good becomes GREAT, bad becomes WORSE." he also talk about how dangerous Red Skull and HYDRA.

Meanwhile, Peggy is snuggling at Andy and put her head in his chest after 4 rounds of sexercise.

"Your friend Steve Rogers is really good and amazing, i am glad that he was chosen instead of that bully Gilmore Hodge." in her assesment papers, she marked Hodge as unqualified.

"Yeah, i'm also happy for Steve, really happy." Andy replied and kiss her forehead.

Maybe Steve Rogers was not a perfect soldier but he is a good man, he is the perfect candidate for Dr. Erskine.

Andy is also so happy because tomorrow will be the day when he will get his hands on the super soldier serum and the vita-ray chamber.

Early in the morning, Andy is acting as driver to escort Steve to SSR Brooklyn Facility in preperation for Project Rebirth.

In the back seat, Peggy is listening to Steve pointing at every alley where he was beaten and bullied, even though Andy protected Steve since they became friends, he still cannot stop him from looking for trouble and stopping bullies from bullying other people.

"Alright guys, we are already in our destination."

After parking, the three of them walked out of the car and entered the antique shop.

They were welcomed by an old lady and saying. "Wonderful weather this morning, isnt it?"

Peggy answered with. "Yes, but i was carrying an umbrella."

After saying the secret password, the old lady press something under the table and the three of them walk to the back of the store. the library secret door opened, after walking some time in the corridor, they arrived at the huge venue and it is full of people.

On the ground, you can see scientist walking and checking the machines and the vita-ray chambers in on the center.

All of them stop moving when they see them, and turn their attention to Steve, the experimental subject today.

Peggy lead Steve to the ground and Dr. Erskine greeted them with good morning, while Andy walk to the the observation room.

Inside the room is the higher ups of the american government and Chester Philips greeting Senator Brandt.

"Hello, Dear." After seeing him, Lorraine quickly greeted him and lead him to a seat.

Andy followed her and sat on the corner and asked. "Is everything ready?"

He look around sensing the surroundings and saw some of people with symbiotes, he also saw the HYDRA spy introducing himself to Colonel Philips as someone from state department.

Andy didn't care much about this dead man, what he is really interested is his get away vehicle HYDRA mini-submarine, Fieser Dorsch.

"Yes dear, we only need to wait for the accident to take place later... what are you going to do with Dr. Erskine, are you gonna save him?" Lorraine asked curiously, because based on the plan they talked about for future, it seemed that Abraham Erskine is not on the picture and his super soldier formula is not allowed to exist or mass produce by the government.

"Of course.... Yes and No."

"Dr. Abraham Eeskine were needed to die this time and we will collect his dead body later, we will try to revive him later and because he is useful alive in our hands later."

Andy answered her doubts, Dr. Erskine's knowledge about serum will become useful because in the next century, there will be a lot of interesting serum like Extremis and Centipede Serum etc.

"Come to think of it... where is the two girls, Bonnie and Connie?" Andy was surprised for not seeing them, the three of them is always working and sticking together as SSR agent.

"The two of them is performing a mission in India, because we received a report on the british side that there army encoutered a group of people with extraordinary abilities... they are hunting them down for a year now, those group is a bit slippery." Lorraine answered.

"What did you say? you are acting on your own!"

"Why you didn't tell me about this soon? what if they encountered some powerful being" Andy stared at her sternly, he is really unhappy with them dealing something with extraordinary sides by themselves, what if they were killed.

"We just want to surprise you and be helpful to you." Lorraine said in aggrieved tone.

"You... nevermind." Andy took a deep breath and just shook his head helplessly, it is also his fault for not checking them personally from time to time.

He is thinking who is the group they are hunting down in India, the people he can only think of other than Eternal Kingo is the alien group that was exiled in Noor Dimension, they named themselves later as ClanDestine.

It's just that he is wondering how that ClanDestine can escape from the pursuit of the two Silver Class of Masque Group, Bonnie and Connie.

It looks like only the "Bangle" with mysterious unknown abilities can helped them escape from the pursuits, the one who is using of the bangle now should be Aisha, the great-grandmother of Ms. Marvel.

Aisha should be seperated from her clansmen by now but maybe because of the pursuit of Bonnie and Connie, she is helping her fellow and decide to protect them by using the power of bangle, because of this hunt she didn't meet her future husband.

Andy rubbed his forehead thinking about Ms. Marvel, she traveled back in time accidentally when fighting Najma, the leader of ClanDestine and used the bangle to protect herself from the stab.

If we use the assumptions that the bangle send her back in time to 1947 in order to protecr the safety of her grandmother Sana and escort her to reunite with her father Hasan, then the situation would be changed now and she should also be send back in time by the bangle to help ensure the meeting with her great-grandmother Aisha and great-grandfather Hasan.

Ms. Marvel time travel is one of the reason why Andy didn't bother go to India to search for the Bangle and the mimic ability of symbiotes is not strong enough to replaced the bangle, now that history is messed up, he didn't care anymore and with the help of Raven's ability, he can let the symbiote devoured it with confidence.

In original timeline, Aisha will become pregnant in 1944, if Ms. Marvel doesn't show up, it could only mean one thing, because of the intervention of Bonnie and Connie, Kamala Khan will not be born and this is a biggest butterfly for Andy.

"Well, it seemed that i can only see her in other universe." Andy sighed regrettably, but now the situation already happened, he can only move forward.

Maybe there was unknown side that Andy didn't know, but he can confirm one thing, Aisha and Hasan will not become a couple.

He also thinking of getting his hands on the bangle now, one bangle is already powerful in the hands of Ms. Marvel, what if he find the other one.

At first he is really not interested on getting the bangle, because the bangle has complicated relationship with one of the most powerful villain in MCU.

There was a lot of talk in his previous life on the internet, it said that the Ten Rings of Shang Chi and The Bangle of Ms Marvel is connected to Kang the Conqueror and the Bangle is found by the ClanDestine in the ruined Temple of Ten Rings in India.

If we talk about Kang the Conqueror, then it will be the secret war controlled by the group of powerful alien behind the scene.

"Oh... Hello, Lorraine." a voice interrupted he's thinking, he look up and saw Peggy Carter with a cold face.

Peggy Carter unceremoniously sat on his right side and pinched his waist while Lorraine is seated on his left side, she is still jealous of his relations with Lorraine and the other two and cannot accept sharing her man to others.

"Hiss....." Andy hissed and tried not to screamed when Peggy twisted the meat on his waist, even his clothes made by symbiote cells, it cannot stop the angry hand of his woman.

Lorraine on the left side just smiled at Peggy provocatively and also greetes her. "Hello, Peggy... It's good to see you."

Peggy stares at her angrily and twist the meat on Andy's waist again, even though they are the same SSR agent, she really don't like her when she knows her relationship with him and she always lose on their fight when it comes to Andy.

"The serum injection will start soon, you can fight later." Andy quickly stop the stare contest of the two, in the end, he is the one who will get hurt on their fight.

On the center of the stage, Dr. Erskine is delivering his speech and Steve is already laying on the vita-ray chamber.

After injecting Steve with penicilin, the nurse quickly grabbed the six glass tube containing the super soldier serum and you can see a last serum in the box container.

"What is on the remaining serum?" Andy ask Lorraine through mind link.

"Oh, that one? it's just a water dyed with blue color.... the nurse earlier has already replaced the original serum it is now placed on the safe box." Lorraine answered and Andy just nodded in approval to her, then he focus his attention on witnessing the birth of Captain America.

After some counting, Dr. Erskine called Howard Stark to activate the machine, Steve was lifted in the air and the chamber quickly covered him inside.

Dr. Erskine checked on Steve inside the chamber, seeing that he still can joke, he ordered the rest of them to proceed the final stage of the expirement.

Howard operated the machine to start dosing a large amount of vita radiation inside the chamber.

10%.... 20%...50%..... after hitting 70%, Steve started screaming in pain, Dr. Erskine hurriedly checked the situation of Steve, even Peggy is becoming worried to him, despite knowing him for only one week, she is already impressed with him and treated him as a true friend.

When Dr. Erskine is thinking to stop the expirement, Steve suddenly responded and ordered them to continue.

Howard Stark continued to steer the wheel handle to 100% and the whole expirementation venue is bathed on white light and the machines suddenly started exploding with sparks.

After some time, the light fades out and the people on the venue thought the expirementation failed.

Suddenly, the chamber opened and presented a brand new Steve Rogers.

From 5 foot 4 skinny guy to pyhsically strong 6 foot 2 full of explosive muscled man, the Project Rebirth is announced as succesful.

Steve stepped out of the chamber while supported by Dr. Erskine, all the people on the observation room come down to the ground to congratulate Steve and take a better look at him including Andy, Peggy and Lorraine.

Andy just glanced at the mini bomb left by the spy on chair and followed the others to cheer for Steve.

Just like the original history, Andy watched Heinz Kruger press the lighter and detonate the mini bomb. after snatching the fake serum, he turned to look at Dr. Erskine and shot him twice before trying to run out of the facility.

Peggy Carter tried to stop him but she only hit him in the shoulder.

"I will go after him." Peggy said to Andy and quickly chase the spy.

On the side, Steve hurriedly check the situation of Dr. Erskine, seeing that the doctor he respected and gave him a chance to transformed and become a qualified soldier died.

Steve expression contorted with anger, he got up and also chased Heinz Kruger.

Seeing that Peggy and Steve go away, Andy look at Lorraine and said.

"Well, i guess it's time to act."

Andy quickly activated his telepathic ability to controlled all the remaining personnel inside the venue.
