XII- The Locked Journal

Shinobu Naoyuki's POV

Almost one month have passed since the night when I got drunk and almost cause a misunderstanding between me, Hisashi and Suzuki-kun but fortunately I managed to remember a little of what happened and explained everything to both of them. The only thing I cannot remember is how I lost the spare key of my journal that I always bring along wherever I go. I searched for it thoroughly in every corner of my place but it was really lost and that leaves me to rely on using the remaining key kept in my drawer.

When I opened the journal to check on something, I saw another thing that I cannot remember doing. There was a new note written and it was absolutely my handwriting so there is no doubt that I did it but I cannot even imagine why I wrote something like this.

Basically, the purpose of my journal is to be used for the important probabilities I have found everyday that will either make a major effect in my life or the whole world that will serve as a warning for future disasters that will come and this is the first time that I have written something directly related to another person.

Days go by and I set aside the issue in my journal until it was completely forgotten. Suzuki-kun always drop by to my clinic and even bringing a lunch for me whenever he was not busy with his school and part time job and eventually we became much closer.

Suzuki-kun is a pure and honest and I have confirmed it everytime I try to see the probabilities of his honesty and intentions towards me. He is a kid who suffered a long period of loneliness and just wanted to have someone whom he can rely on and I am always doing my best to make him feel less lonely each day and treated him just like a little brother.

"Shinobu-san are you busy next Saturday?" Kazuya suddenly asked during one of his afternoon visits.

"I think not, why? Did you win another ticket to a movie?"

"No. Actually I wanted to take you to the amusement park near my workplace because my boss gave me two tickets and I have to use it before it expires."

"Ok, I'll go with you this time."

His face lit up as soon as I told him that I will go and he can't even hide how happy he was while we was talking about how he was looking forward to it.

Saturday came in a blink of an eye and I closed my clinic an hour earlier than the usual to go to the amusement park. I thought I arrived at the entrance earlier than our scheduled meeting but I saw Suzuki-kun already waiting for me.

"Sorry for making you wait." I said as I approached him.

"I just arrived here too."

"Then let's go in and ride everything for free." I pulled him in excitedly.

As we stepped in the amusement park, I can feel that something was odd. Instead of children playing and running everywhere, the park is filled with couples having their dates. Wait, is there a special occasion today? I pulled out my phone to see my calendar of holidays but upon seeing the date today, I finally understand. Today is the day for couples and a day of bitterness for the singles like me , Valentine's day.
