"Did you give up?"

"!" suddenly Ares jerked his head to see a young man with light green hair, chestnut eyes, and an all-white suit while standing in a dignified and regal posture.

"Considering my guards couldn't find you for over two minutes despite their numbers, the ability to run as fast as an adult despite your young body, and how you broke through the concrete ceiling suggests that you most likely have a talent for Physicality. Considering the feats you pulled off at such a young age, an extreme talent might I add." the young man spoke as he started to walk towards Ares.

Ares knew it was a futile struggle fighting the human in front of him and his instincts were telling him to run. Still, he gritted his teeth while applying a tremendous amount of force to his legs and burst forward. Immediately, Ares's tendons, quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes ruptured apart, but with this cost, Ares gained was far higher than anything he had ever achieved. He quickly drew his left hand, which still worked, and unconsciously began creating a purple-like energy on his clawed hand that wished to devour the man that stood in front of him.

"That's an interesting trick you have there." however, to his surprise, the young man didn't look bothered at all by his change in speed but instead just gave him a curious look.

"But that won't be enough, you know?" Immediately after saying those words, the man appeared right next to Ares and gave a punch to his left shoulder.

*THWACK*

Though the punch itself looked weak, it was strong enough to blow away all the dust around the man while also having the power to send Ares crashing away.

"You should've been knocked out by the punch had that been a direct hit but to think you would sacrifice your left wing to mitigate the damage on your arms. But considering that you can't even stand anymore, that hardly matters." the man said as he looked down on the sprawled Ares and kneeled to his level.

"Grrr"

"Hahaha~ You sound just like a beast. Good. Because of the trouble that you caused, I won't sell you to anybody. No. That would be an easy way out for you. Instead, I promise to make the next coming days seem like you were in hell where instead of wishing to be spared, you would instead beg me to kill you." the man said with a hint of Killing Intent in his voice to amplify the child's reaction that he wished to savor.

"?"

But unlike what he expected, Ares didn't react either to the words or Killing Intent, instead, Ares moved his mouth near the man's ear and...

*CHOMP*

bit off his ear.

Immediately, blood leaked everywhere, and Ares who had the man's ear in between his teeth spit it out right on his face and gave him the most demonic smile he had ever seen.

"YOU BASTARD!!!!" the man realized what had just occurred and went on a complete rampage as he let go of Ares and began stomping on him. It didn't take long for Ares to go unconscious but even when he did, the man didn't relent in trying to take his revenge.

"Lord Foere!"

"Call the Healers!"

The guards who had just reached the roof immediately panicked seeing their lord hurt and began to calm him down before he lost himself.

"Hoooh..." After a while, Foere brought back his composed bearing but the moment his eyes landed on Ares's bloodied figure laid on the ground, his eyes turned bloodshot.

"Lock him up in the torture chamber, bring out Vensee to do this one, and tell her to continue the job for 2 years. If he doesn't die by then, feed him to the dogs." saying so, Foere disappeared.

However, the guards had dumbfounded expressions.

"Does he mean the Vensee...?"

****

4 days later

"Umm..." Ares's eyes fluttered open, but the moment he regained his clarity, a sharp pain coursed through his entire body.

"Ughh..." A normal adult would be thrashing around in pain, but Ares let out a low groan and soon heard a voice in front of him

"Looks the new 'patient' is awake~" spoke a feminine voice and soon revealed itself to be a lady in her mid-thirties, lithe figure, red hair with a bob cut style, black eyes, tan skin with tattoos all over, who walked over to his while holding some sort of button pad.

"I'm surprised, it should've taken at least a month to regain your consciousness but you woke up in just 4 days! Guess Foere wasn't lying when he said you had a talent in Physicality despite your age." Vensee spoke while nodding her head.

Ares ignored the weird sounds the woman was making and began to inspect his body. His lower body, chest, and arms all felt numb all the while the headache he was experiencing due to the extreme physical exertion made him nearly pass out.

Despite this, he looked around to see was sort of predicament he was in. The first observation he made was the chains wrapped around his arms and made him float above the ground. The next most important thing was a steel collar around his neck which didn't do anything at the moment but Ares knew that it was only a matter of time before it did. He kept making observations about his state but Vensee, who noticed Ares ignoring her completely, clicked on the button pad that she was holding.

"Aha!" Ares suddenly had trouble breathing and then noticed the collar suffocating his neck!

"Kid, there are many things I hate but ignoring me is by far one of the worst," Vensee spoke while opening up a 'tool' box and bringing out a metal rod.

Suddenly, Vensee started to gather cobalt-like energy around her hand which soon turned into a burning red flame. Then she began heating the metal rod and spoke to Ares while waiting for the process to be done.

"Don't worry. After this is done, the healers will patch you right up, though it will take around 4 days to heal considering the 'marks' I will be making." then she looked at Ares with a crazy smile.

"We will continue to meet each other every 4 days for the next two years, so let's get to know each other well, okay~?" and without warning Vensee thrust the flaming metal rod right into Ares's abdomen.

"AAHHH!!" Ares understood nothing that had been happening to him ever since he was born. Who was he? What was the purpose of his birth? Just what was the point of it all?

He knew nothing and nobody knew him.

This realization broke something—something fundamental—in part of Ares's existence.
