Chapter4

#Chapter4

Seth's POV:

/"How unlikely... It feels like we had this dinner already, 5 years ago/" Lucifer spoke up, pointing the light at the very obviously Deja Vu situation we had going on. All four of us looked up, Vixen and I connecting eyes first, with the same unfamiliar and cold indifference as ever, yet now there was something odd in her look...

She was unsure about me. Unsure of what I could do, or who I was.

I was unsure of that too, to be fair.

/"Five years is not enough to call it history, and thus it won't repeat itself hopefully/" a secretive smile appeared on my lips, as my gaze found Lucifer. Every nerve in my body rejected the thought of being here, with the devil, letting his mocking, amused gaze wonder on me, trying to observe and understand my motives, yet my smile was playful and calm. How I got used to lying as if it was second nature...

/"But some things could occur again/" Jude remarked in a tone that suggested to everyone, but mostly me, that he remembers this night for very different reasons, that we do.

It was my first time in hell, but it was also a few other first times, that's undeniable. Flashes of that night rushed through my veins, as if that deep bite would still be on my shoulders, my blood dripping off my skin slowly, as I kneeled in front of Jude. How I hated every minute of being so obedient... and how addicting that was. I had to swallow my saliva at the memories, and I gently touched my throat.

Lucifer chuckled a little, flashing his menacing eyes towards his friend, before, leading them back to me, opening his mouth with a knowing expression:

/"We don't know, who's going to get lucky tonight, Jude... Maybe Seth needs something from me this time./"

My jaw locked, but my smile remained, mostly out of pride. I didn't want to let Jude defend me, so I spoke the first words that crossed my mind.

/"Elegant way of calling me a whore, Lucifer./"

/"Everyone is a whore, it's only a matter of what they are selling themselves for.../" Jude intervined before the other man could've made another retort, and for a little while silence settled on the table, since no one really had the guts to go against Jude's /"This topic is over, or I'll kill someone/" tone.

/"What's the reason you are here? I know you didn't come here to chit-chat with us at dinner, isn't that right Jude?/" Lucifer spoke up, his tone more serious than before, almost bitter in a way.

/"Do I need a reason?/"

/"Oh come on now/" Lucifer chuckled at the fake innocence Jude tried to put up just now. I didn't speak, though I'm pretty sure I knew why we were here... or why Jude came here.

/"We are on the run, Lucifer. I need some restful sleep, and a break/"

Sometimes, it actually mesmerizes me, the way Jude lies. He makes it a point, to look in the other's eyes, and he becomes a little more serious than usual, speaking softly but with certainty. I can hear that he emphasised Lucifer's name, making him remember their bond, cruelly and coldly using it against the devil.

How vicious, my love is, and how I loved him despite this... Maybe even for it.

/"Are you sure, there is nothing else, you wanted to ask of me?/" Lucifer tilted his head to the side, raising one of his eyebrows as if he didn't know the answer. Jude lied well, but his friend new him. He knew both of us enough, to know this wasn't the reason we appeared all of a sudden.

/"If there would be anything else, it wouldn't be my place to bring it up... Speaking of which. I'm tired./" he suddenly rose from his seat, and flashed a killer look towards Vixen, who shook instantly.

/"Oh right... I am too/" Miss coldness stood, her voice fake and obvious, and since I saw what they were getting at I sighed, and proceeded to join them.

/"Let's go to sleep the-/" I winced a little, as Jude gripped my shoulder and pushed me back down on my chair, with force that I would use to hold back a horse, not little ol' me. I shot a death-pan look up to him, but his expression didn't allow me to speak up, despite the fake smile he offered me.

/"I think you aren't that exhausted yet, are you? /" every inch of my body detected that little edge in those two last words, and so despite my want to defy him even now, I got my eyes off of him, and nodded with a locked jaw.

/"Sleep tight/" I murmured before they both left the dining room, and I was kept there to drown in the silence that settled between the devil and I.

My eyes didn't leave my bloodred wine, refusing the acknowledge my company in the slightest like a child, left to be told off by a grown-up. Not as if Lucifer would've been much more mature than I was.

/"Show me/" the order was clear and simple, and despite most people probably not understanding what he meant, I was more than sure what he referred to.

/"I won't bring it out willin-/" a sudden, sharp pain cut me short, and I forgot to breathe for a moment. My eyes slowly traveled down to my right shoulder, noticing a small knife sticking out of it, causing my lips to twitch into a violent smile.

/"You son of a bitch/" my growl felt alien to even me as if it wasn't my voice or my words, but the next thing I knew is that the table hit the nearest wall, all the meals and plates shattering on the ground, creating a chaotic mess of noises. I pulled the knife out of my shoulders, only to have to jump to my side, avoiding the next one.
