Quirks? | Ch.1

3rd POV

The Doctor: "Sorry kid it seems like you don't have a quirk, better find a realistic dream" The chubby man shrugged. "What are you and your husband's quirks?" The doctor asks.

Inko: "I can pull small objects towards me and my husband can breathe fire." She said while pulling the All Might toy towards her

Izuku was heart broken. At the age of 4 his dreams shattered. When he asked if he could still be a hero his mom only apologized. She doesn't believe in him either.

Izuku Midoriya's POV

Even if they don't believe in me I will be a hero. I will just be the first quirkless hero. Kacchan and I will still be heroes together. Nothing has changed except for a lack of a quirk.

...

Why is everyone making fun of me? I can't control what my quirk is or what my voice sounds like. Even Kachan is being mean. What did I do wrong?

Everyone is ignoring me when I speak. They act like I don't exist.

...

Now they just mock my voice. Fine, then I just won't speak.

...

My throat feels weird when I try to talk.

I can't speak at school anymore. The words just come out.

3rd POV

When Izuku was 6, his dad and him went out for some icecream after an especially bad day at school. On the way there, there was a villain attack, so of course Izuku wanted to watch a bit of it. A few newer heroes were there and a fire hero named Endeavour was there. Half way through the fight, Endeavour threw a very big move and debri flew everywhere. Most of them were blocked by the new heroes but one piece wasn't.

It hit Izuku's dad and crushed him. His blood sprayed his son which watched it all happen in slow motion. All Izuku could hear was his heartbeat as he looked at his bloody hands and back at his dad's body. Everything was going in and out of focus and he was beggining to sway. He distantly heard some yelling and a siren. He tasted blood. Was it his own or his dad's, he didn't know. His eyes burned and he felt tears building. He screamed and saw some glass shatter, then.... everything went black.

He woke up and saw a white roof. He knew the smell of hospitals well, as his mother is nurse. He thought back on what happened and his heart monitor started beeping faster and he started to cry again.

Nurses rushed in an calmed him down. The doctor then came in to check on him and everything was fine other than minor head trauma. They asked if he remembered everything that happened and he nodded numbly. The hospital staff in the room looked at each other. They then sent his mom in who was crying and shaking with worry. The doctors explained the situation and she cried harder with relief. It turns out he needs glasses because of the head injury but nothing else is wrong. They also said they suspect he might have some sort of voice quirk.

He got home and nothing felt right. He felt a missing presense and he hated it. He broke down in the doorway.

He stopped eating and talking as much the next day. The bullying was getting worse and his mom decided to pull him out of school. Izuku got a little better after that. A miniscule amount of light in his eyes was back. He also figured his quirk out. It was sorta like the hero Present Mic's quirk, but when he activated it and yelled it amplifies his voice and if he sings depending on the emotions behind the song can push them onto others. He also started to avoid public hero fights. He would start shaking just seeing them on the news.

After a month of online school, Izuku was in the highschool level. Izuku also found something he wanted to try out. He wanted to start podcasting and his mother was just happy to see him being even slightly happier. So she bought him the best stuff she could and made the extra room they had into a sort of recording studio. He became sort of nocturnal, he slept till 3 PM and stayed up till 7 AM. His mom didn't mind, as long as she was happy. Hell she got home at night 90% of the time anyway so they still spend time together. Izuku called his podcast The Nocturnal Podcast and had a relatively small following but it was growing often.

When Izuku was 7, he started hanging out on the roof a lot. His apartment building's roof was rarely ever used so he had a little fort on it. If he wasn't in the house, then he was on the roof and he started looking a bit happier, but it never showed on his face. Izuku's face stopped being expressive after his father's death, but Inko could read her son's emotions through his eyes. He still didn't talk much and wouldn't talk in public at all, but he was happier.

His poscast has grown a lot and he always looks forward to hanging out with his fans and answering their questions. His online name is Sleepy and his fans call his name ironic because he is so energetic usually.

When he was 8, he tore down all his All Might stuff in his room. He hasn't taken it down because he is rarely in there anyway, as he sleeps on the roof's stairs or in his podcasting room. Izuku tried to sleep in his room after that, but he couldn't fall asleep if he was on his bed. The next day he asked his mom to get rid of his bed. When he got in his room the day after, there was a little tent thing on the floor and he appreciated his mother so much more. When she got home, he immediately hugged her. He hasn't liked anyone touching him since his father died. That home, he told her his dream job.

Izuku's POV

I ran up to my mom when she walked in and hugged her. This was the first time we hugged since dad's death.

Izuku: "Mom I still wanna be a hero." He sniffled. "I just want to be an underground hero that works at night." The short green haired boy says burrying his face in his moms stomach.

Inko: "My baby..." She sniffled, "You will be a great hero baby. I believe in you." The older Midoriya sobbed.
