The Unforgettable "Dream"

The world is a cruel place. Memories become paradise. Dreams become nightmares. 6 years ago when I was only 4 years old, I had a dream. Well, to me it felt like a dream but at the same time it was reality. For some unknown reason a declaration of war was cast upon my fathers country. Yes, my father was the "King" of that country. The reason I call it "that" is because, it no longer exists in this world.

That night, that fateful night, we had been attacked in the royal castle. The guards were slaughtered, maids were being monopolized, while me, my father, and mother were in the Royal Throne.

The enemy who attacked our nation came with the heads of the strongest warriors and magicians in our nation. I grasped my mothers hands. But, there was no fear in my mother and fathers eyes. No, to them it was almost as if they have gotten used to it. There was an unknown feeling inside of me.

Was it pain?

No.

Was it fear?

No.

It was excitement.

"This is your last chance to surrender, King Gilbert Alzein. No matter what you do, you have no escape. Your whole kingdom will soon be in flames."

Father remained silent.

"Alright then, King Gilbert Alzein be prepared for-"

The enemy of our nation started running towards father as soon as his last sentence was about to end.

"PUNISHMENT!!!"

These words rang across both of my ears as I watched my own father be beheaded by the unknown enemy. The shock was so overwhelming that I fainted on sight.

The last thing that I remember is falling into my mothers arms as I fainted. And when i woke up, I was already in the mountain areas. Where am I? I didn't know. The environment around me was something that was described in the very books my mother read to me. It was almost as if I came to an unknown world. But I knew that it wasn't true. The books mother read to me were all stories of land that had already gone out of the peoples control and the people lost these lands. When I say "lost" I mean it. The book said that centuries ago the lands suddenly disappeared , as if it had never existed in the first place. The owner of these lands looked all over the world for it but never was he able to find it. But, there was stories around towns that some people were going missing. That's when the owner of the land realized. The land still existed but, only those that the land chose could be able to arrive in it.

The sun was setting. I gazed upon the sky as the sun was fading. Memories of when I was with my parents were all over my head. Tears fell out, but, there was no one to notice.
