The bagful of cookies was all gone. Starlet had eaten most of them alone Lucien had laughingly told her that she was going to fall sick but she had ignored them. They had long gone off the tar highway and they were now on a dust road that cut through farms and forests. Starlet and Lucien had the windows closed shut because the cloud of dust had nothing they wanted to inhale.
Starlet felt utterly bored and wanted to take a nap. She looked over at Lucien.
"Would it bother you if I took a nap?" she asked tentatively.
"You're tired, huh?" he said with a snicker.
"What's so funny?"
"Your body needs energy to digest all those cookies," Lucien said with a laugh.
"If you weren't driving," Star said, "I would smack you."
Lucien burst out laughing.
"Go ahead and sleep," Lucien said when he could talk.
