On The Run

Inside one of the rooms of the cheapest motel, a woman was sleeping very faintly. She was fiddling with her fingers as her ears were getting disturbed by the various voices coming through the corridor. Park Ji Hyun immediately opened her eyes and sat up on the bed as she heard a familiar voice coming from the door beside hers.

"Did you see this woman somewhere nearby?" The man held a passport sized photo in his hand and asked one of the people living in the room next to Ji Hyun's. As the man inside pointed to the door next to his, the man with the photo cursed and immediately walked to the next room.

He knocked on the door… "Detective Park?? We know you are in there so, just quietly open the door!"

By the time, Park Ji Hyun heard the knock on her own door, cold sweat ran down from her forehead and she became scared. It wasn't her fault at all yet these people were after her making her living hell. She quickly looked through the peephole and saw the person whom she never wanted to see again in her life.

"Sh*t!" She cussed and stepped backwards. She put on her black leather jacket and took her phone and her wallet. Thankfully, she had bought a room with a window so, right now… it was going to be useful for her.

She walked towards the window and as she walked, she heard the door being banged. "Park Ji Hyun!! Stop thinking something more and surrender yourself!! We have you cornered!"

"Park Ji Hyun??" The man spoke again and started banging on the door.

"I will count till three, if you don't open…"

"Open, my ass!! I don't need to surrender, and I never will, Sunbae!" The man was interjected by Ji Hyun's loud words and his eyes widened. Park Ji Hyun was a very strong and cunning woman so, he knew what she was going to do!!

"F*ck that b*tch!!" He cursed again and another officer came running towards him and gave him the master key. The man quickly opened the door and entered inside. As he entered, he saw Park Ji Hyun jumping through the window.

"Hey!!! Park Ji Hyunnn!!" He screamed and ran towards the window. He looked down at the woman showing him the middle finger and he banged on the windowpane.

"Quick!! After her!!" He ordered and everyone ran out of the motel to chase after her. The man quickly jumped through the window to chase after Ji Hyun. There was no way he was going to miss this chance to capture her.

Park Ji Hyun showed her Sunbae, Oh Hyuk, a middle finger and ran away from there. She ran as faster as she could. She was the one who was being framed and this silly Sunbae of hers was chasing her like a dog. 'F*ck!!' She cursed again.

"I never ran this fast in my entire life to capture a criminal…" She said and continued to run. With every step she took, she felt a jarring pain from her ankle to the knee. She turned her head backward to have a look and she saw a bunch of people swarming towards her with the same speed as hers.

"Sh*t!! Why are they so fast?" Ji Hyun applied more pressure on her legs so, that she could sprint faster. She ran so fast that she thought that her legs would explode anytime soon. The wind whipped her hair back from her face and her heart began pounding fast. She ran as she saw a clear path straight ahead of her.

She couldn't be captured… not at all!

An intersection came ahead of her and she took the road to the left. The men were still running after her and she was finding ways to hide. Her legs were starting to give up. She couldn't run more; she wanted to hide and take some rest for a while. At least, till she could take some deep breaths.

Moreover, she hadn't had her food until now…

As she ran into the alleys, she noticed the houses on each side. She saw a gate which was open, and she felt the need to go inside. She turned around to have a look and there was no one behind her. She could just hear the footsteps of those people coming. She quickly ran inside the gate and closed the gate behind her.

She rested her head on the gate and took deep breaths. As she heard the footsteps walking past her, she took a sigh of relief. "Damn!! That was close!!"

"Who is it?" Her heart froze as she heard a masculine voice behind her.

Before she could think more, Ji Hyun kept her hand on the gate to open when she heard voices outside

"Sh*t… Where did she go? Did you guys find her?" It was the voice of her Sunbae…

The person behind Ji Hyun approached her and her heart got caught in her throat. "Why are you…"

Before the man could ask more, Park Ji Hyun turned around and covered his mouth with her small hand. Her long charcoal hair brushed the man's cheek as she turned over.

Ji Hyun looked towards the gate with a concerned look on her face. "Shh!! Please, don't say anything!" She whispered while looking afraid towards the gate.

The man looked at her stunned. He had never been this close to anyone from the opposite sex in his entire 26 years. As he stared in her chocolate brown eyes, he could see nothing other than fear or fright.

"Please!! Don't speak!" The man heard this sentence coming out from her small rosy lips. He felt like touching them.

'NO!! What am I even thinking??' He shook his head and cleared his mind.

He removed the hand which was covering his mouth and held it. Her small cold hand fitted perfectly in his warm huge hand. He pressed on it to give her hand some warm.

"Who are you?" He asked still holding her small hand. He didn't want to let go of it.
