Meetup At The Theatre

It was weekend and Mirae was waiting for her friends at the movie theatre. She had worn a grey knit sweater and a high waist black pants which refined her chopstick like legs. She braided her hair into two plait and waited for her friends at the entrance.

While she was waiting, she received a text message from James saying that he has arrived back to the country and is now resting at home. Reading that, Mirae immediately called him and the phone was answered.

"How is your father now, Mr. James? You didn't tell me that you were arriving today."

James smiled and stood up from his settee. He opened his trolley and took out a rectangular box from inside it. Upon opening it, he saw the diamond necklace which was neatly placed inside. James flustered upon thinking of Mirae's expression when he was going to propose her with this necklace.

Yes.... after talking with Mirae for a while and discussing it with his family, James had come to a conclusion that he has fallen for Mirae and that he wanted to make her his girlfriend. He wanted to propose her, so he bought an exclusive diamond necklace only to give her.

James was so happy thinking about it that he forgot that Mirae was on the line.

"Mr. James? Mr. James, are you there?"

"Yes... yes... I am. My dad is better now. And sorry, I should have texted you, but I wanted to surprise you. You are surprised, aren't you?" James closed the trolley and placed the rectangular box in one of his drawers.

He had actually thought of proposing her when they would meet the next week but he thought that it would be too quick so, he wanted to go on a few dates with her first then propose her, although there was no need to go on dates... he just wanted to do it so that, there won't be any misunderstandings or something in the future.

"I am a little surprised but I'm glad you came back safely and also that your dad is safe now." Soon she saw her friends coming out of a car followed by two men. What were men doing here when it was a girl's night out?

Mirae hung up the call and looked at her friends questionably.

"Umm... are we all gonna..." Just as she was about to speak, she was cut off by Ga-Eun.

"Well, we said that it was a girl's night out but my husband and I hadn't gone out for a date in a long time and Soo-Ah was going on a date today so, I told her to join in and she joined only because she thought that she would hurt you if she wouldn't have been here."

Mirae looked at Ga-Eun and then at Soo-Ah surprisingly. She looked at her friends annoyed.

"Then you would have told me that you had plans, we would have cancelled it..." Mirae looked at Soo-Ah and puffed her face. "Ahh! Seriously... I wouldn't have cancelled my plans if you guys were going on dates." Out of annoyance Mirae blurted some stuffs but soon she covered her mouth with her hand.

"You had plans?" Soo-Ah was fast enough to hear what Mirae had told, and she looked at her with a doubtful gaze.

"You got a boyfriend?" She again asked with that same gaze. "Oh wait!!! Is it that guy in whose house you slept that night?" Ga-Eun squinted her eyes and looked at her friend, doubtfully.

And with this gaze, it was a defeat for Mirae. She couldn't lie when her friends looked at her with such doubtful gazes. And so, she came out clean.

"OHHH GODDD!" Ga-Eun gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. "I didn't know that our Mirae was this quick..."

"I..." Mirae began to speak but was cut-off this time by Soo-Ah.

"Call him and tell him to come right now. We even have an extra ticket... three of us can go with our men."

Hearing her friend, Mirae quickly shook her head and began to walk backwards. She knew what was to come. She held her phone tightly in her hand but her grip was very loose when two of her friends were snatching it from her.

Soo-Ah tickled Mirae and Ga-Eun took her phone.

"Let's start your progress... you guys are so slow." Saying that, Ga-Eun quickly typed a message.

James had taken a bath and was putting on his clothes when his phone rang. He looked at the caller ID and immediately picked up the call but before he could do so, the call was hung off.

Soon, he read the messages which were from Mirae and Oh God! He felt like the happiest man alive on Earth.

"Mirae is asking me out for a movie? Really?" He walked towards the dressing table and spoke "Wow, Mirae!!! I didn't know you had this plan in your mind. I wanted to surprise you and you surprised me instead..." The tired feeling after coming from a plane which was with James instantly vanished and he took out a casual outfit to wear.

He quickly wore a grey sweatshirt and black joggers and walked out of his house after grabbing his car keys.

Mirae read the text message which was sent to him and she sighed. "Why did you send it this way? You could have said that I'm with my friends... Who knows what he will think of me?"

Soo-Ah flicked Mirae's forehead and spoke "Idiot! If you don't make it quick... there are chances of slipping. You already slipped one, don't loose on this guy." She then sent her boyfriend and Ga-Eun's husband inside the theatre.

And the three girls waited for James to come.
