Chapter 16 I think I know

After Jenny returned to her room, she sneakily, turned around to see if anyone had followed her and to her relief, no one had. She slumped butt hard to the floor but careful not to exert alot of pressure that could cause the wound to reopen, her heart was racing out of her body. She felt like she had aged forty years more, huh!!

"Huffff!!",she gasped for air, luckily, she managed to keep her composure the whole time and was not busted. These men are hotheads and not easy especially that Jason. "God, send me away from here. You stupid brain, why did you make me say all that? I don't even know who I truly am, only those flash memories in my mind and now this. I can't be any stupider!!!" she whined grabbing her hair in frustration and self-reproach. She threw her face into her her knees that were folded to her chest and cried without tears.

Stupid mouth, useless brain.....

Raising her head, she frowned, "Also why did I have to act smug, all strong when am actually a scared little cat!!" Ahaaaaaa, I want to shave my head bald she grimanced.

"Can't I just go back and undo all this, I really want to cry!!!"

In the middles of her monologue, she heard light steps that were heading her way.

Heavens!! Who's that?

She scurried up to her bed diving in and pretended to be asleep.

Slowly, the door to her room opened and light steps continued to trot her way to her left side. Suddenly, the side of the bed shrunk and it took Jenny all of her will power not to blink in her 'sleep'. Lightly, a few strands of hair were drawn from her face leaving her thoroughly exposed to the intruder. She felt he was prying into her soul with the intense look she felt on her face. It was like that person was trying to decipher her.

A light chuckle resonated and a few more strands were brushed away, "I almost believed the words you said.", the voice spoke and she recognised it was Jason's, that iceberg!!! And what's he talking about anyway, she wanted to pout in annoyance but didn't let it show as she was 'sleeping' "Who are you?" he asked again. "How do you know such dangerous things, they aren't safe for you!" he talked as though talking to his little sister coaxing her to be good.

This guy probably won't leave and keep disrupting my beauty sleep. "I wonder what your trying to imply Mr Jason?!", Jenny spoke with closed eyes. "And touching a woman in such a manner is inappropriate behaviour!"

The hands that were patting her lightly froze for a few seconds and withdrew almost immediately. "You were awake!"

"If someone sneaks into your room and touches you....."

"Sleep. You need to leave when you get better!" he was flustered for having been caught. He was thoroughly embarrassed.

Jenny opened her eyes and peeked at him and saw him dash to the door, she tried her best not to chuckle in amusement, he was like a tiger sneaking up on a kitten to bully it.

Jason didn't turn to look back at her and immediately left the room to go to his. On this floor, only his and Jenny's room were the only rooms. Outside, James almost ran into Jason's lips... luckily, they avoided the catastrophy of kissing when James screehed to a halt a few inches away. His eyes almost bulged out of their sockets and looked at Jason accusingly. Did this guy want to kiss me!!!!

Jason looked at him indifferently finding his accusing face exceptionally annoying but decided to ignore him and proceed to his room but was stopped by James. 'What!!' Jason gave James that look, clearly annoyed for being stopped when he was clearly running away. Though his movements were graceful and didn't give him off but for anyone who knew him, they'd know he was probably fleeing and that person was James.

"Your ears are red!" James pointed out cruelly and raised his brow probing further for information. What's got this guy flustered and moreover why's he fleeing from Jenny's room? What did he do inside there that's got him sneaking about?!

"Out of my way!" Jason was in no mood to entertain James with his whims

"Over my dear body. What did you do? Huh!! Did you attack my patient... physically!?" He knew he was over stepping, infact Jason rarely got physical with anyone but because recently, Jason had not yet taken any of his vicious means to counter them..... but if not now, then it was never. It was so hard to find this guy in a neutral mood where you could step on him and walk away unscathed.

"James...!!"Jason growled.

'Ok, now he's angry!' Immediately, James bowed dramatically and made way for Jason, he knew when Jason was at his limits and there was a line he never wanted to cross.... Jason's bottom line!!!

James remained unconvenced as he narrowed his eyes at Jason's door and then Jenny, his gossiping stomach was so hungry!! He shrugged his shoulders making faces and waling away.

Back at the hospital, Lucas had changed into proper clothes and was seated with a man slightly older than him. Lucas was so well behaved. "It's an honour for chief to personally make his way to come see my daughter!" he greeted with enthusiasm.

"I'm sorry about your daughter Brother Lucas. If you need my help, I can help, you just have to let me know." said the man with a Potbelly and round face. He almost didn't fit in his seat almost and was literally squeezing himself.

"Hahahah, chief is so generous, I'm honoured to have a big brother look out for me." Hahahha, they laughed together.

Wilson walked in on the two men and served them coffee before he went to stand outside the room along with a group of chief's men to guard.

Meanwhile in the room.

"So, what you mean is that the boy you killed is still alive!!" This news shocked him aswell, he too was there on that day.

"Yes chief, unfortunately he is, the double I put is also missing that's why I need your help. I couldn't seek anybody's help, it is only you that I can trust." Lucas's expression was ugly, he was in fear but he had to flatter this old man to help him get rid of that bastard son.

"Hahaha, old Lucas, I see you've aged by bound in a short period of time. This old friend will definitely help you. A mere soldier can't stand a chance against us besides I have a good friend back in the army, his influence knows no boundaries. This is a small matter, I'll suppress him for you." Chief was so gruff as he boasted about himself.

"Hahahah", Lucas felt lighter with this assurance. Indeed that youngman was a mere flee that could be squished. If they did it in the past, it could happen once again! Hahahaha!!!!

Chief looked at Lucas and sneered internally.

"Oh, I can also help find out who attacked your daughter if you help me with a little favour friend." Chief threw his card.

"Anything, anything for our future cooperation chief." Benefits from this man were bountless, giving a small portion won't hurt.

"Hahahah, good good" The condition was indeed merry, it was good. His daughter got hurt but he gained in the end.
