The oldest reference we have seen so far in the world of one piece is that the tree of knowledge planted by the ancient people of O'Hara around 5000 years back well that's a long long time for the short lived human race and also for the giants who are said to have long lives

4000 years ago the palace of alubarna was built in what is present day alabasta which is also known as the desert country today

Skip another 2500 years and we have the possible beginnings of the great sea circle

1100 years ago the city of Gold shandora was built

1000 years ago zunesha is born around this time. The earliest known sighting of the elephant island zou is recorded.

The mink tribe  isolate themselves from the outside world on Zou.

A quarrel between the long arm and the long leg begins.

900 years ago The void century begins.

A great civilization dominates the planet from one corner to the next, and great weapons of mass destruction are built. In the same century, they also disappear under mysterious circumstances. The only traces left behind of their civilization are the poneglyphs.

Joyboy attempts to raise noah with posiedons aid, but he breaks his end of the bargain to fish man island and Noah is never raised, leaving it to await the day it could be used

The Riku Family becomes the new rulers of Dressrosa Kingdom after the Donquixote Family left the country to live in Mary Geoise, and sincerely apologizes to the dwarves whom had suffered under slavery at the hands of the Donquixote Family.

Zunesha commits a crime and is sentenced to walk the seas for eternity.

An organization of twenty kings comes together to create an alliance known as the World Government. As they come to power, they control and censor everything that has happened in the last 100 years, at the same time outlawing worldwide the ability to research and read the Poneglyphs

this world is one of great beauty and and even more complex history there is too much intertwined interests and even more precious beliefs and the stakes are huge the 20 kings established the world government and their rule unshakeable for more than 800 years

and then so many years later the sea has only grown more unstable then came the rocks pirates that almost turned the world upside down but they were defeated and the rise of the pirate king Roger happened...the protagonist of our story is called Zane his full name is Ether Zane.
