No sooner had the doubt struck her mind, than Nevaeh grabbed a near-by boot and aimed it at the back of Loki's head.

SMACK!

'Ouch!' Loki said, turning around in surprise, 'what did I do?'

'Sorry,' Nevaeh said quickly. Damn, she was so sure he wasn't really here that she didn't think what she might answer if he were. 'There was a fly over your head. I'm so sorry.'

'A fly?' Loki said in annoyance. 'You are a witch, aren't you? Couldn't you simply obliterate it? I have so much to teach you. You are an amateur.'

'Absolutely correct,' Nevaeh said, remembering that she still had to take care of Daniel. 'I will be right back.' She went towards the door.

'Where are you going?'

'I – I am getting ice cream from the store. I won't be long,' she closed the door behind her. Loki shrugged and turned his attention towards the teddy-task at hand.

Nevaeh quickly went downstairs and opened one of the voice messages. 'Nevaeh! I am panicking! You need to come over! This is code red! I repeat, code red! Come over right now! This is urgent!' His first few voice messages were similar. In the later ones it sounded as though Daniel were drowning or gargling, either way, it didn't sound good. She feared he was being murdered.

Within four minutes, Nevaeh reached the back entrance of Daniel's apartment building and glanced up at his window on the fifth floor. She figured if he were indeed being murdered, then knocking on his front door was far from logical. She needed to do this her regular way.

The window on the third floor was open. Nevaeh quickly pocketed her wand. She glanced around once before jumping up high and catching the third floor window sill. A boy shrieked and Nevaeh hunched upwards to see an 11 year old boy stare at her through scared, yet admiring eyes.

'Don't scream, kid, and don't ever try this,' Nevaeh said.

She pushed herself upwards and directly on the fifth floor, entering the closed window leg-first and making the glass shatter in tiny pieces. She landed with a thud to watch an exasperated Daniel sitting on the couch chair far-opposite in the big, rectangular living room with his laptop on his lap. She paused to catch her breath.

'Jesus, Nev! How many times have I told you not to do that?' he muttered weakly, placing the laptop down on the table. He hastily sprinted towards her and looked at his shattered glass window.

'I ran over till here because it sounded like you were being murdered! Why the hell are you not being murdered?' Nevaeh asked in annoyance. She looked around. Everything was looking quite normal, just like it always had, apart from a book sitting on the sofa in front of her because Daniel never read anything. She noticed that the fold-out bed at the far opposite wall, next to the couch chair and the little table had a tray full of cigarette buds. She slowly started away from the broken window and into the living room, but she halted as Daniel opened his mouth.

'I am sorry to disappoint you by staying alive, but—'

'God, is this about last night? I was in the middle of something! I don't have time for your whining!' Nevaeh whipped her wand and cleared the clutter of glass by fixing his window.

'Will you let me finish?' he asked. Nevaeh noticed that he had dark circles around his eyes and he looked weary. 'This Loki, who is he exactly? Where did you meet him? You disappeared from home for two days and he has been with you ever since.'

'You are the stalker, right? It doesn't suit your image to ask me that like some normal person. You usually have a way to find it out yourself!' Nevaeh said scathingly. She had left Loki in her room and had claimed to fetch ice cream. He wasn't stupid. He could figure out any moment that she had lied and she didn't want to get caught, especially because of idiotic Daniel.

'Yes, that's right. I am a stalker,' Daniel smiled. 'I wanted to know more about him, so I Googled him. You know, there is a lot of information if you Google his name – Loki isn't it? After seeing so many web pages with his name, I thought that he must be a well-known person of some sort; model, actor, or you know, just rich. But what I saw was disturbing,' Daniel said cautiously.

Nevaeh laughed shrilly. 'You Googled Loki? Guess what genius, you won't find anything about him on the internet because he is not from around here! It's not like he has a Facebook or an Instagram account! You can't stalk him as you did me, Daniel. So, give it a rest. Stay away from him. I am warning you, if you keep digging your nose in his business, it will end very badly for you.' She considered Daniel's words shallow; Loki was not even from their planet, so the odds of finding information about him on Goggle were negligible.

'I think Loki is a con man,' Daniel continued, clearly ignoring everything she'd just said. 'I think he is pretending to be someone he is not. He is lying to you. Maybe he is after your money.'

Nevaeh laughed again, but this time with a hint of danger within it. 'Yo, he is royalty where he comes from! My money – I'm sorry, my parent's money, to be precise, is not even a small drop considering the enormous ocean that he has. You know what? I don't have to explain anything to you! If you talk shit about him again, I will end you. Stop meddling with our lives! Stay the hell away from us! I'm out of here.'

Nevaeh was about to leave, when he handed her a book which was open in the middle and pointed towards the page. 'Like I said, he is pretending to be someone powerful. Maybe he has some psychological issues, like dissociative identity disorder or something! The way he calls me a mortal, whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. He is clearly insane!' Daniel said.

She took the heavy and rather old looking book in her hands. The title simply read 'LOKI'

She couldn't understand if this was a prank of some sort or yet another one of Daniel's classic schemes. Nevaeh sat down on the sofa and began reading the page without wasting a further second...
