(Yamamoto POV)
"Oh, so they did send someone to come for me ... very well, I'll kill you."
"Huh?"
I turn around and see a man with orange red hair that is rather spiked upwards like mine walking towards me. I am confused by his words, as there is no chance that he has seen me before and no reason for his hostility.
(A/N remember Yamamoto has created hair like Bang from OPM for himself)
"Who are you?" I ask him.
"Oh? Trying to act all confused now that I found you. Well, that won't work, I'm afraid. Now come and taste the wrath of a LION!!
A flaming red grimoire with a three leaf clover on it appears at his side and opens. The pages turn and he uses the first spell.
"Fire Magic: Raging Lions's ROAR!"
A powerful flame shoots from his mouth and forms a male lion. This flame burns so hot that the charred ground of the volcanic area begins to melt again. I feel the temperature, but I am immune to it unfortunately for him and flames are my bread and butter. I wonder how things got to this point.
As the flame lion appears before me, I simply swat it away with my hand and get rid of it. The man looks surprised at my display of power and then narrows his eyes. I can't help but think that it seems strange for me to jump from one fight to another.
"Listen, I really don't know what your problem is, but I didn't come here to kill-"
"SILENCE! I shall not have a commoner like you spit on my intelligence. As the heir of House Vermillion, you shall witness how we royals do battle and taste my flames!"
So he's from house Vermillion huh? Well, that's interesting, but I still don't understand why he thinks I'm here to kill him honestly. I feel like it should be obvious that I have no interest in doing so and am so much more powerful ... wait, maybe that's the problem. He doesn't know that I'm more powerful than him and therefore thinks I'm here to kill him. So the easiest way to show him that I'm not here to kill him, would be to showcase my prowess ... right?
"Fire Creation Magic: Ignis Columna Maxima!"
The Vermillion dude generates a pillar of spiralling flames around him. This pillar of fire rises from his feet to about 30 meters in height, which reduces the possibility of him being attacked from above.
"This pillar has enough defensive power to withstand incoming high-speed attacks without breaking. In addition, I could easily deactivate the spell without making any unnecessary movements!" he starts explaining, "Additionally, I can use all of the fire generated to attack."
The flames which have gathered up above, start to compress and create a very dense sphere of flames which permeate enormous heat.
"Fire Creation Magic: Star Fall!"
The rather small but hot ball of compressed fire starts to fall towards me. While it looks small at first, it grows the closer it comes to the ground and then goes supernova as it reaches me.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM*
...
Amidst the flames, which have reached plasma levels of heat, I unsheath my Zanpakuto and slice it all in half, giving me a path to walk forward.
*SWING*
*WOOOOSH*
"Wh-WHAT?!"
The Vermillion is surprised to see me still standing when he was certain his attack had hit me. He starts to release his magic power, which is quite impressive ... well, I don't really have a reference, so I just say it like that. But it should be impressive for this world's standards ... right? Eh, it doesn't matter. Let's go through with my plan to show him my power now. Ryūjin Jakka is screaming to show this imposter how to use flames and I shall do so.
"Reduce All Creation to Ash: Ryūjin Jakka"
As I say those words, massive amounts of flames are generated from Ryūjin Jakka and spread into the surroundings. The flames of Ryūjin Jakka are special in the way, that they have evolved throughout my journey to power. All the different energies and the limitless potential are influencing my core power and making the flames more and more potent. The heat which Ryūjin Jakka generates in Shikai is over 3'000'000 °C, something that shouldn't be possible. Yamamoto's OG Bankai was capable of generating 15 million °C and his Shikai 6'000 °C. So yeah, my powers are growing nicely. I have to protect this pathetic royal from dying by the flames just by releasing my Shikai.
Seeing my Shikai, the Vermillion stops. His brain doesn't seem to process what he is witnessing. But instead of fear or admiration, I sense anger from him.
"So you think I will just cower before you, because of those flames, huh? I will show you how a royal member of the Vermillion Family dies. I am a royal and you will always be a commoner!!!"
As if feeling his emotions which spike after unleashing his full mana, his grimoire suddenly creates another spell, a new spell. A cruel expression appears on his face as he uses the spell.
"Fire Magic: Purgatory Flame Destruction!!"
I watch as he assimilates a large amount of Fire Magic into his body, which begins to glow and takes on a fire-like appearance, almost as if he has become Fire Magic itself. But that only lasts a short moment as he points his palm towards me. All of the flames which were absorbed by him, gather in his palm and form a small flame. I feel the heat and magic power inside the rather tiny flame exceed anything he has created before. The temperature reaches almost 1 million °C right now, which is impressive in my opinion. He must have pushed beyond all his limits when faced with my flames and managed to reach an impressive level.
He throws the flame towards me and I respond in kind. With a casual wave of my Zanpakuto, our attacks clash and cause a tremendous explosion.
*BOOOOOOOO...
... OOOOOOOOOOO...
... OOOOOOOOM*
...
...
As the flames dissipate slightly, I walk forward and see the slightly charred remains of the Vermillion. How sad for him to die this way. And here I was thinking of only showing him that I'm not after his life. I guess, some people will believe whatever they want. Was this my mistake? Could this have been avoided? Do I care? Does it even matter? Will anyone ever find out?
All good questions and every one of them can be answered with ... no.
.
I look around the area I arrived at which has been altered greatly by our clash. This is called a Grand Magic Zone. The Grand Magic Zones are areas of exceptionally strong and dense mana, similar to dungeons, making travel through them treacherous. There are various of these Zones in the world.
This is a world of magic and mana. The setting is rather medieval and the humans, who aren't the only race in the world, use grimoires to use mana. Mana is an important aspect of every mage that has ever lived, as it is their source of "magic power", which is used to cast magic spells. This energy naturally exists and flows in the environment and within everyone. Due to this, it is common knowledge that everyone is able to use magic to some extent. Individuals born with a strong affinity for mana and with exceptional magic power are said to be "loved by mana". At the same time, people who do not possess any mana and are unable to use magic at all are an extremely rare occurrence and are said to be "hated by mana".
Upon turning 15 years old, a mage can attend an annual ceremony where they receive a special book, known as a grimoire. This book enhances the user's magical abilities and gives them the ability to cast specific spells that are far in advance of their own natural magical abilities. At first, a grimoire is mostly empty, but as the user grows as a person, new spells are inscribed on the blank pages. When a new spell appears, it corresponds to the situation that caused the mage's personal development.
Unlike mana that exists in nature, the mana that is situated within mages has a specific nature to it, known as an attribute. These attributes are one of the aspects that differentiate one mage from another. The attribute that a mage possesses is the one that they are born with.
There are four major elements in the world: fire, water, wind, and earth. All other magical attributes are derived from these four. For example, Smoke Magic is a branch of the wind attribute and ice from the water attribute. Over the centuries, some cultures have developed unnatural or irregular magic attributes, like chain, steel, spatial, and time.
Some magic attributes are very common, such as fire and water, whereas some other magic attributes are exceptionally rare, such as light and space.
Most mages are born with only one magic attribute and so are normally unable to use the magic of any other attribute. While the average mage cannot use multiple attributes, there is nothing stopping them from using their own attribute to perform different forms of magic, such as wind-based Creation Magic or fire-based Healing Magic. The average mage normally only uses one or two forms of magic, but incredibly powerful mages can use multiple magic forms without a problem.
Furthermore, mages can have different latent abilities corresponding to the element from which their attribute is derived. One example would be mages with an affinity towards wind-based elements having the latent ability of mana sensory. This resulted from those mages having a higher sensitivity towards the flow of mana.
Apart from humans who use grimoires for their magic, there are also other races in this world which spice up things and make it ... interesting.
I have arrived in the World of Black Clover.
.
Coming back to my current location, the Ultime-Volcano Mountain Trail, is one of the known Grand Magic Zones. There are more known in the story.
Seabed Temple: The most dangerous of the known Grand Magic Zones, it sits underwater off the eastern coast of the Clover Kingdom.
Witches' Forest: This forested area sits in the neutral area between the Clover and Diamond Kingdoms. It is ruled by the Witch Queen and populated by witches.
Ultime-Volcano Mountain Trail: This volcanic area is used for training.
Gravito Rock Zone: This area contains large floating rocks, and the largest one is a dungeon that the Eye of the Midnight Sun uses as a hideout.
The volcano I am in currently has changed a lot due to the fight the Vermillion and I just went through. But due to the high amount of magic present here, this won't matter all too much. Granted, a lot of the mountain is missing now but that's not entirely my fault though. The mana present will just resolve this in some way. It is like a special type of ecosystem in a way. Life finds a way, as you say.
Looking down at the poor sod of a Vermillion, I can't help but think that this might cause some problems down the line. I mean look at him. So charred and ... so dead. Hah, I'm just far too good.
*Sigh*
I take out my Zanpakuto and chant the activation.
"Burn it Black ... Moeru Kokujin Sumi"
I absorb all of the Vermillion. Who knows who he truly was, I mean-
Suddenly the memories of the Vermillion come to mind and I know exactly who he is. He is one of the two brother heirs to House Vermillion of the Clover Kingdom, Solgoleon Vermillion. This could be a problem, or could it? Then something interesting happens. As I am absorbing all of the man's power, his grimoire follows and starts to heat up.
The heat picks up more and more and catches fire. I just watch as it happens, since I don't think this is important anymore. Who cares about a dead man's grim- ... oh right. This means it is my grimoire now. But do I even need one?
The grimoire burns brighter and brighter and finally stops, revealing a transformed version of it. Now, instead of the three-leaf clover, a sun can be seen on the cover, showing me the increase in quality compared to before and I also prefer the logo.
[Picture]
"Hmm, let's see. Since I have magic now, I might as well try something out."
The grimoire flies into the air in front of me and opens automatically, revealing the empty pages. I guess, I will have to create them? Or do I just will it to be created? I don't know, let's just do something. I think of a spell which I always thought was cool. I raise my hand slightly. Without realising it, the words just come out of my mouth.
"Sun Magic: Divine Sword Yamamoto"
I make a slow downward swiping motion with my hand. A bright yellow line appears and a moment later a massive split in space takes place, splitting everything in front of me and causing the volcano to have a massively deep, but narrow ravine.
"Huh, that was surpris-"
"Young Lord Solgoleon! Young Lord Solgoleon!"
I hear the voice of someone calling me/the dead guy and turn around.
"Huh? Oh you're looking for the guy. I got sad news for you then ... he died."
"Oh, young Lord Solgoleon you have changed indeed. I can see that you would say so. Your time in isolation and training has come to an end and- oh! Is that ... a transfomed grimoire?! Young Lord Solgoleon! You did it, I am so proud of you. Who would have thought that you would be the one to fulfill the legacy set and recreate your grimoire."
"What are you talking about? Wait, I am not Solgole-"
"I appologise young Lord, but time is of the essence. You are to be wed and your father has sent me to retrieve you. So please follow me."
"Wait what? I am not Solgoleo-"
*POP*
We teleport to a large mansion and I am taken to a room where I am suddenly stripped. I try to stop them, but no one listens to me. I try to tell them that I am not Solgoleon Vermillion and that he has died since I killed him. But all they hear is that I am the reborn Solgoleon since I apparently left years ago to train and am now 'a new man' so to speak.
They undress me, bathe me, clothe me in traditional clothes, make my hair and then push me towards a grand hall where an organe-red haired woman is waiting already. She looks very much like Mereoleona Vermillion, but her name is different.
"... Noraleona ..."
That's her name. Leon all the time for some reason. I just hope she's not the former Solgoleon's cousin or something even closer related. Eh, I'm not him so it doesn't really matter. But my, goodness, I can see the similarities with Mereoleona in the future. She has the same hungry and challenging grin on her face ... wait ... Oh no does this mean-
[Picture]
"... do you Solgoleon Vermillion take Noraleona as your wife? Do you swear it in front of mana itself, to honour your bond as it was decided by your ancestors?"
...
I did not see this coming.
