Everything Everywhere All At Once

Thirdly, he planned on training his reflexes and reactions speed after that. He wanted to make the time lapse between his body, thoughts and reflexes as short as possible; even to the extent of having them happen simultaneously, if possible.

---

Fourthly, Ryujin wanted to master acupuncture. It wasn't that he had no idea about them, it was just that, the technology back on earth were just so good, that it didn't matter if one had perfect knowledge of acupuncture or not.

However, in this world where they barely have a surgical scalpel, he needed to familiarize himself with every acupoints in the human physiology, both for saving his own life and taking that of his enemies.

Ryujin believed that, if he could attain perfection at his third and fourth regimes, then he would become fatally dangerous to his enemies.

The fact that he only needed on attack to finish of his enemies filled him with the resolve to achieve this level of prowess.

'Killing someone with a simply poke of the finger to their temple, or taking them out by targeting specific joints and blood vessels.' Ryujin grinned as he thought to himself.

---

Then lastly, once he had mastered these regimes, he wanted to find a way to inculcate his Metavision, and the use of his Focus Qi into his attacks and movements (both attacking and evasive).

---

With a clear goal mapped out within his mind in such achievable stages, Ryujin threw himself into a hellish training regime; training 24 hours a day for six days straight, and then taking a rest on the seventh.

After all, wouldn't he be ultimately hindering his own progress if he fails to make the most of the excess time his once-a-week rest grants him?

---

About a month after Ryujin began his new training regime, something drastic happened.

He was alone at night, practicing footwork by dribbling through some densely packed, but irregularly positioned dummies, when he felt that something wrong befall his body.

A burst of pain surged out of specific points within his body, before quickly spreading across his entire body like wild fire in a dry forest.

His whole body spasmed and twitched like a worm dipped in a bowl of salt, as a head-spinning nausea washed over him like he was standing beneath a heavy waterfall. It was a nightmare unlike he had ever experienced before.

"What's happening to me?" He screamed inwardly.

"This can't be excess fatigue, I rested all through the whole of yesterday.

My body couldn't have reached its Vital Qi accumulation limits as well. After all, it's not like I'm constantly or currently absorbing Qi."

Soon he started gasping for air, incapable of even shouting for help, much less, standing to his feet.

He simply laid there, writhing all over the place as wave after wave of unbearable pain kept bursting forth from those specific points in his body, before spreading into every fiber of his being.

It was almost similar to the way a flash flood would surge into irregular areas of a neighborhood in powerful waves.

'I can't die! No, I can't die again, not after enduring so much. Ahk!'

He thought to himself as his eyes began to roll upwards as he tried his possible best to keep himself conscious.

Gathering up the scattered bit of his cognitive process, Ryujin use them all up in order to automate the circulation of Vital Qi towards every inch of his body; all in a bid to fight off the affliction that was tormenting him, but to no avail.

This continued until his skin began to stretch beyond their limits, his pores ripped, his veins ruptured, his tendons sprained, his bones fissured, his tissues constricted, and finally, most of his cells began to die one after the other.

Furthermore, as the pain got worse and worse, whenever a trickle of Vital Qi touched the source of his torment, their intensity would surge upwards by several folds.

Upon realizing that his torment increased the more he tried to forcefully hold on and suppress his pain, Ryujin finally surrendered control, giving it free reign over his entire being.

It began with a stinging sensation on his skin, to a soreness in his pores, then a throbbing in his veins, then a cramping of his muscles, etc...

Each of these painful sensation happened in specific sequences that brough him an overall jolting sensation which made him spasm like he was being electrocuted.

Soon enough, his entire body went limp and numb as he began to puke and leak a black, sticky slurry substance all over the floor.

The substance looked like tar, but smelled like someone had finally uncovered a rotten egg after having been covered and kept in the summer heat for months on end.

They came out in leaks and nut-sized lumps; nevertheless, the strain Ryujin was getting from them was like each and every pore in his body was undergoing labor, simultaneously.

The substance was so toxic that every grass it touched withered totally. It's stench was so repulsive that even in his incapacitated state, Ryujin began to barf out everything he had ate that afternoon.

Then as the excretion neared its end, it began to cake all over Ryujin's body; not as thickly as a cocoon, but as if someone had laded their wet skin with soap and then let it solidify all over them.

When the pain eventually subsided and his body locomotion returned, Ryujin finally rose to a sitting posture, as he began to peel of the caked tar-like substance away from his body.

Afterwards, he spent several minutes spitting, drinking, and even eating grass, just to get rid of the revolting taste lingering in his mouth.

Though, his pain had now subsided and he could move, he had simply lost too much energy (or stamina), that the only thing he could do was absorb little amounts of Qi in spaced succession, and then converting them into Vital Qi, which he then circulated throughout his entire body.

However, the moment Ryujin began to absorb the atmospheric Qi, he discovered that he was now able to sense his entire bodily constitution with much greater clarity.

He noticed that as the Spiritual Qi gathered towards the vessel leading to his brain, the rest of the atmospheric Qi in the area seem to gravitate towards him of their own accord and invade his body through eight different additional paths.

'Are these my other body vessels?!'

Ryujin's eyes widened in shock as he unleashed his mental sense, and instantly, he got another another shock of his life.

Whilst his mental sense didn't increase from its 100 radius, they increased more than ten times in clarity and depth; in fact, Ryujin's mental sense had just turned into his Metavision; something which left him wondering how much stronger his Metavision itself had now gotten.

Nonetheless, Ryujin swiftly pushed the matter to the back of his mind as he focused on his internal body constitution, and he indeed found them.

Hanging right there and acting as bridges between his pores and certain parts of his body were nine different nodes (or spheres).

Each of these nine nodes directly fed Vital Qi to Ryujin's Cells, Marrows, Spine, Brain, Tissues, Bones, Heart, Liver, and Lungs.

What these nodes generally do is that, they store blood within them and simultaneously absorb Qi from the atmosphere (through the pores), convert that blood into Vital Qi, before sending them out trough the veins to their respective destinations.

Previously, Ryujin had only been able to make use of his brain node for the absorption and conversion of all the Vital Qi his entire body needed.

This, not only placed an overbearing burden upon his brain node, but it also meant little returns for humongous efforts; it was almost like someone who is thirsty and had 50 liters worth of water, but was forced to use a tiny straw.

One, the person had to suck harder to get enough into his or her mouth to drink, and before such a person can drink enough, they might suffer cramps in their mouths and necks, and in the end still be unable to quench their thirst.

Now however, not only can each facet of Ryujin's physical body constitution generate their own Vital Qi, the less demanding facets can also assist the more demanding ones by feeding them the excess Vital Qi.

Not only as this cut the amount of time required for Ryujin to generate, convert and circulate Vital Qi, it also increased their amounts and reduced his overall efforts as well.

Latching his improved mental sense onto these nodes, Ryujin began to increase the speed with which they absorbed Qi, and in less than five minutes, every single cell within his body that previous had no Qi were now brimming with it.

He circulated his Vital Qi with the same amount of effort he used before and he was stunned to find out that they not only flowed ten times faster, but also flowed just as smooth; not in torrents, but neither gushing as well.

It just had a smooth stream-like flow; fast, but not too fast. The mere sight of this phenomenon and the sensation it brought Ryujin almost felt euphoric.

All his fatigue began to vanish like a thawing ice block beside a campfire.

His skin glowed beneath the remnant mire on his body. His pores open wide, sucking a torrential amount of Qi. His veins toughened and healed at a speed visible to the naked eye; in fact, they were squirming, almost like happy worms.

His muscles bulged and flexed, almost as if they were breathing. His tendons stretched and flattened as easily as dough. His bones began to take a brownish hue as they grew in length and thickness.

Ryujin was left feeling like he could smash a mountain with his bare forehead.

His joints shifted and popped, like the gears of an electric motor.

Everything was happening everywhere, all at once, and Ryujin couldn't help but let out an euphoric moan.

For five minutes, Ryujin basked in the sensation, and whilst they were fleeting and relatively short compared to the level and length of suffering he had to endure, he couldn't help but admit that the lasting benefits were worth it.

A grin tore his lips apart as he gazed at the compact but irregularly position poles he had been moving through earlier.

They stretched about 100 feet; a conscious effort in his part since he was using his Metavision and mental sense as he simultaneously trained.

Over five previous tries, Ryujin had managed to cut his course-time from twenty seconds to a dozen, and now that he had experienced an overall upgrade, he wanted to know how long it would take him now.

Shifting his stance into a sprinting pose, Ryujin took off with a bang, leaving a spiderweb of cracks in his wake as he darted towards the poles.

Upon arriving at the first pole, his mental sense spread out like a divine blanket being laid down from heaven. Then without much effort, his Metavision activated as his eyes took a rainbow-like hue.

~Swoosh` Tap! ~Swoosh~ Tap!! Tap!!! ~Swoosh~

One swerve... one step... one swerve... double steps... and a dash...

Ryujin fleeted through the poles like a wind spirit in a barren desert; they might have as well not been any pole in the first place.

Ten seconds.... That's how long it took Ryujin on his new try, and that was mostly because he had yet to familiarize himself with his new physical capabilities.

Though he could sense that his movements were still far from perfect, he also no longer felt like having two left feet.

If he had yet to familiarize himself with his [physical body capabilities before, then now, he might as well have little to no clue; and that only gave Ryujin the drive to take his new training regime more seriously, and even increase its level of difficulty.

"It's an amazing improvement considering the fact that, up until a minute ago my goal was to stop tripping on my own feet. I wonder..."

Ryujin stretched forth his right palm towards the series of poles in front of him, as he shut his eyes and began to fuel his mental sense with his Focus Qi.

"The best I could do before, with so many targets at once, was make them twitch a little. And now..."

He suddenly and abruptly clenched his hand into a hard fist.

Boom! Boom! Bam! Bam! Crack! Crack! Creak!

"Oh well... Now, that's something..."
