Life With Cats

Life With Cats is a novel I've worked on for about a year now. It's a warm hearted story about a woman who dies of old age surrounded by the cats she loves with all her heart. She longs to continue living with them, forever. Thankfully and unknowingly the God of Laziness cared for her life enough to grant her another chance. She decides to continue her Life With Cats. Updates coming soon!

"OH GOD! OH GOD! We're gonna die!" Snake keeps yelling over and over again.

"SHUT UP AND KEEP RUNNING!" Shiver tries to dodge trees and branches to quickly escape. Thankfully, both of their speeds are pretty high and so is their Agility. They're easily able to stay a safe distance from the snake but it's hot on their trails. Suddenly, Shiver knocks into something and yelps.

"Ouchhh, Shiver?" Silk gets up from the floor where he fell from the impact.

"SILK! We're being chased! RUN!" Shiver yells at Silk, her eyes wide and scared. This jolts Silk since Shiver is always very calm and composed. He looks over and spots the snake, his eyes going wide too.

"UUUUUH! THIS IS NOT GOOD!" Silk runs towards Frankie who was a bit behind, and all four of them start running.

"I'm not fast enough!" Frankie struggles to keep up with the rest of the group, so they all stop to confront the snake.

"Okay… at least we won't die. Master is safe, I hope." Shiver stands behind Silk who is trying to fluff his fur as big as possible to look threatening. They all close their eyes as soon as the snake lunges towards them, but they only feel a sudden gust of wind.

Silk is the first to open his eyes, the snake is gone suddenly. But there's a loud crunching noise coming from somewhere. He looks around and sees a large fluffy animal ripping out chunks of meat from the snake's body. The animal turns to look at Silk with blood dripping from its mouth.

"That was dangerous." The animal comments, moving closer to the four cats. The animal lays down beside them, licking the blood off it's mouth.

"U-uh, who are you?" Shiver manages to calm down enough to ask a question.

"Well, I guess I'm a Tiger. I don't really have a name…" The Tiger looks down, curiously at the four cats. Compared to the cats, the Tiger next to them is enormous. It's voice is feminine, so they calm down slowly.

"Wh-what are you doing out here?" Frankie approaches slowly, touching the Tigers paw. She's so small compared to it, but she doesn't feel scared.

"I ended up here, got chased from my territory by some terrifying monsters. I'm not a monster by the way, I keep getting called a monster by people. I'm just a part of nature, just like humans are. They don't understand." She leans down, snuggling carefully with Frankie. Frankie relaxes fully in her fur, feeling at peace, like the affection you'd receive from your mother. The Tiger purrs loudly in return.

"Uh, thank you for helping us!" Silk summons courage again. He'd been at death's door just then, while untrue, it really did feel like it. Shiver and Snake both offer their thanks.

"Well, I couldn't just leave you four to die. My young cub got killed by a monster a while back, so when I heard you four yelling, I couldn't just stand there. I'm glad I got to help you four, makes me feel useful again." The Tiger's eyes close sadly, the four attempt to give her comfort by laying down with her.

"Will we be safe here?" Shiver asks, enjoying the affection from the female Tiger.

"Well, that guy was terrorizing a lot of the animals around here. So since he's gone, everything should be fine. I planned to deal with him soon but he's a tricky one. He was so focused on you four so he failed to notice me. I guess I got lucky with the timing there." The Tiger yawns, blowing Snake's face with it's breath. Snake's whiskers get pushed back, and he shuts his eyes in annoyance, laying face down in the dirt to avoid the gust of wind.

"Woo, snake blood is intense." Snake comments, blinking a couple times in shock. The smell of the snake was also really strong, which made Snake think of something.

"You know guys, if we leave the body like that, won't monsters suddenly appear?" Snake asked the group.
