Life With Cats

Life With Cats is a novel I've worked on for about a year now. It's a warm hearted story about a woman who dies of old age surrounded by the cats she loves with all her heart. She longs to continue living with them, forever. Thankfully and unknowingly the God of Laziness cared for her life enough to grant her another chance. She decides to continue her Life With Cats. Updates coming soon!

For the next hour, the group of four and the tiger worked on cleaning up the forest. Not just the body of the Snake, but also the bodies of the Rambits, that they had left behind. It took a while, but they knew it would be helpful for Master, since a lot of the contents could be sold.

While cleaning, they told the tiger all about their Master, about their past life and how they're going to the Capital soon. The tiger shared about her problems and her past, all which made the others feel for her. They spoke for a long time and with the tiger's help, a difficult job turned fun and calming. They felt safe around her, and she felt happy with them in turn. It was an enjoyable time.

"Okay!" Shiver stopped dragging the last Rambit over to the area they picked. It's a small clearing, it's close to the place they last came with Master before. She promised to pass by before the sun went down, so the five of them could walk home together. They settled nearby to protect the dead bodies, cuddling and purring in happiness.

Suddenly, they sat up in alarm.

"Kitties!" called Lottie, back from working at the Tailor Shop. The job was pretty boring, the only interesting thing was that the boss had walked in towards the end, and offered to give her a set of clothing in exchange for her work. She did try to explain that it was just to help Areth out, but he was very stubborn about it. So she promised to come back in an hour to pick them up, but first she knew she had to pick up the kitties where they had planned to be.

The clothing will help a lot with staying more conspicuous, the outfit she has currently makes her look like she's a wealthy person. All this way, ever since Bran let her know about the thief following her, she'd been extremely wary about who was near her. So obviously when she reached the forest, she didn't plan to wait outside for them to show up. Instead she went further into the forest to look for them.

I mean, it's not like there's anything very dangerous in this forest anyways. As far as I know, there was only that one claw-like monster that could be a bit of an issue but since I gave them a warning, I think they were careful. That was what I thought, but then I saw a large creature towering over them. And- my body just froze there. Confused and concerned, I could only see a portion of the creature's body from behind a tree, but it looked massive.

I thought about whether to pull out a weapon from my Kitty Bag or if I could just unsummon them and run away. But then I noticed Mystic had walked over to them, freshly off of [Orbit] from when I'd removed it a minute ago. She just walked straight over, as if she was oblivious about the whole thing.

"They don't seem to be in any danger, Master." Velvet looked over at me, saying the first thing in a while. And with that, the sound of a chime from the notepad came again.

[Velvet has awakened their trait.]

Just now? Uhhh, I just watch as Velvet along with Doggy and Dolly walk over to the creature without a bother. Aaah, I'm so lost right now. Okay, I'll check this first. I should trust them.

[Velvet has awakened their trait.]

Velvet has awakened the 'Danger Sense' trait, giving her an acute knowledge of when danger will come and when the coast is clear. Velvet will be alerted to danger seconds before it occurs and will know instinctively if there is none.

Ahhh, okay… so Velvet just knows. Okay, I'll trust in her and her new trait. I walk slowly over, now able to see the creature much better.

"A.. tiger?" I see the tiger look over at me looking scared, but then notices the added addition of the four cats and settles down, laying back down in the grass. Looking at them all together, I feel a sense of safety, the Tiger looks graceful and peaceful while grooming each of the cats. Mystic had even accepted them easily, waiting her turn while the tiger was grooming Velvet thoroughly.

"Master, we made a friend!" Silk runs over with his immense speed, almost tripping over something along the way.

"I can see that, ugh, what's that stench?" A gust of wind suddenly brings over a terrible scent, everyone tenses up in disgust except for the Tiger who seems used to the stench.

"We killed a snake! A big one! Well… She did…" Silk looks over at the tiger with a look of pure admiration. A snake though? Is there supposed to be a snake in this forest?

"Master, I've spoken to Team Break about what happened, and it seems she protected them from the large snake. I feel we are indebted to her, can you listen to their request?" Mystic walks over closer, rubbing against my leg in a pleading manner. I bend down to pat her head, giving her chin scratches. Their request, I wonder what it'll be. What could they need?
