Then, the three were now sat around that table.
Darius was a little uncomfortable as he was currently being stared at heavily by the person on his right.
He wasn't sure why, was it related to what Thorin and Ashe had talked about back in the shop or was that person really that weird?
It was the first time that Darius had felt that uncomfortable as he could feel the gaze of this weird-looking person.
Because Ashe had been right. If she hadn't said anything beforehand then he might have reacted in some way about his appearance.
'Did he take a shower in his entire Lifespan?' thought Darius as he simply couldn't believe how dirty that person was.
In fact, Darius wasn't even sure if he was human as he had difficulty confirming it. He knew that there were multiple races in this world, which is why he wasn't sure.
He hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary, so he was still in the dark about his identity.
However, one thing was for sure that person right there hadn't taken care of himself in ages as Darius could actually smell him from several meters.
Nonetheless, all of that would be irrelevant if he were to be able to fix Darius's problem.
"So, why are you here Ashe? You usually have a pretty big reason if you come to see me," said the person, finally diverting his gaze from Darius's face.
"You know me so well," replied Ashe, sarcastically with a smile. "The reason that I'm here is right there," she added, pointing toward Darius.
"I got that already, but why is he here and why do you need MY help regarding him?" said that man, putting emphasis on the "my".
'Wait, is she going to tell everything to him?' thought Darius, as he couldn't believe that this person was safe.
Surely, he would go around spreading rumours around the Slums.
Darius really wouldn't be surprised if that were to happen.
However, he still decided to let Ashe talk wondering what she was about to say regarding him.
"You know about the test to enter the Royal Academy, right?" asked Ashe, already knowing the answer to that question.
"Of course, I know about it, ahaha, who do you take me for? A Hermit? Someone who lives in a cave?"
Ashe ignored what he said at the end, nodding.
"Then, please. Please, don't interrupt me and just listen," pleaded Ashe looking at him in the eyes.
"I'll try," he replied with a small smile on his face.
Ashe ignored him as she started explaining the situation.
"Their test is able to detect many things like their system name and the rank of their system," affirmed Ashe, as she still hadn't explained anything that Darius or that dirty man ignored.
"That man right there has some reasons which make it that he doesn't want his system's rank to be revealed, so could you hide it or change it?" explained Ashe.
Darius hearing that she hadn't revealed anything about him was kind of happy and felt that he could trust Ashe maybe a little more now.
She had proven that she wouldn't reveal his secret to anyone, and that was something which Darius appreciated.
"Well, I don't know why you asked me to not interrupt you, you literally spoke for two minutes."
"Can you give me the reason why he doesn't want to reveal the rank of his system?" he asked.
Ashe hearing that question, turned her head toward Darius and indicated for him to answer what he wanted as even she ignored the reason why he wanted to hide his system rank.
"What would happen if I answered no?" asked Darius wondering if he really needed to tell him or not as he would prefer to keep everything for himself.
"Well, do you want me to help you or not?" answered the man with a big smile on his face.
Darius nodded hearing that, understood what that person meant.
"Then, I guess I can tell you if it means that you'll help me."
But then, as Darius was about to continue talking he was interrupted.
"Woah, woah, calm down where did I even say that I would help you?" said the man with a smile on his face.
Darius only nodded as he agreed with what that person had just said, then he continued his explanation as to why he wanted to hide his system rank.
"You see the rank of my system could attract many and I don't want them to approach me with a goal in the back of their head. I don't if you get what I mean, but yeah that's why I need your help."
"So, you basically want to leave a life away from people with only yourself?"
"Not exactly, but close enough. I just don't want people with a goal approaching me trying to reach it," said Darius as he remembered his past life where all he had done was serve others.
That wasn't something that he wanted to have in this life, that's for sure.
"Um, I can relate," muttered the man. "Alright, I'll help you."
'Wait that's it, that's all I needed to do?' thought Darius, still perplexed over this while matter.
He didn't even know if the person in front of him would be able to fix his problem. So, he decided to be careful.
"Wait, Yorick, that's it. You're going to help him just like that?" asked Ashe, almost shocked not believing her eyes.
Yorick's answer was simple and concise.
"Well, he seems interesting and I liked his answer, so that's why I'll help him."
"Wasn't I interesting?" asked Ashe, as she still remembered all the tasks that he had asked her to do in exchange for his service.
"Um, maybe, but not as much as him,"
"I'll remember that," mumbled Ashe, falling quiet.
"Now, come here and let me analyze that system of yours," said Yorick as he approached his hand Darius's arm.
'Wait analyze, what is this man talking about?'
{Author Note (IMPORTANT): Maybe it wasn't clear, but the rank of an Awakened is determined by the rank of their system. (Supreme, S-Rank, A-Rank, B-Rank,...) So, Ashe is a B-Rank Awakened because of the rank of her system, which is B-Rank.
