Silent Yet Deadly

Watching the Watermelon Wolves circle round the zone, he silently laughed at the strange sight, for he realized that while they could probably smell his scent in the area, regardless of where they went they couldn't seem to get any closer.

Resting safely next to the Archway, Salvatore quickly recovered his strength. After resting for nearly a quarter of an hour, he silently rose to his feet, having formulated a plan to deal with the Watermelon Wolves.

Despite being somewhat relaxed, Salvatore would never be able to truly relax as long as these accursed Watermelon Wolves were still around. Yet despite having spent nearly 30 minutes searching the area, the Watermelon Wolves displayed not a single sign of leaving.

Having watched the Watermelon Wolves closely while he rested, Salvatore had examined every single Watermelon Wolf and memorized the pattern of their movement, as well as several habits they seemed to have. Just like humans, these monster possessed characteristic habits unique to themselves.

For example, the first Watermelon Wolf he was planning to eliminate was one that seem to have a perpetual itch, for it would stop every 3 seconds to scratch its head against the ground.

After repeatedly doing this, it had separated a good distance from the rest of the Watermelon Wolves. Now it was far enough from the rest that its death, if dealt fast enough would go completely unnoticed. However, that was only if he could actually kill it fast enough.

Focusing on the Watermelon Wolf, he silently approached then matched its pace, walking along the perimeter of the Archway besides it, careful to maintain a good 2 feet of distance from the grey stones edge.

Holding his blood red fang firmly with a reverse grip in his right hand, while his left hand he slowly flexed before raising it roughly to the height of the middle of his chest, the exact same height as the Watermelon Wolfs head.

Patiently waiting, he slowly walked clockwise around the perimeter until the Watermelon Wolf suddenly stopped and bent its head down while raising its right paw to scratch its head. After giving itself a good scratch, it return it paw to the ground as it raised its head once more.

As the Watermelon Wolf raised its head wearing a relaxed expression of relief Salvatore's left hand shot out like lightning, clamping firmly upon the snout of the wolf sealing its mouth while the crimson blade in his right hand simultaneously was plunged into the Watermelon Wolfs right eye.

Like a hot knife cutting thru butter, the blood red point easily pierced thru the eye, directly into the brains fleshy depths, killing the Watermelon Wolf instantly. Ignoring the bright yellow negative number above the wolfs head as well as the few coins which fell to the ground he quickly pulled the dead Watermelon Wolf into the safe zone, dragging it quickly near to the center with practiced ease.

Looking around furtively, he checked to see if his actions had been detected. Seeing the Watermelon Wolves still with the same look of confusion he knew he had succeeded in executing a flawless attack.

Over the course of the next 15 minutes Salvatore slowly, one by one, picked off the rearmost Watermelon Wolves from the safety of the Archways invisible safe zone as well as confirmed that not only was he invisible but soundless while in the safe zone.

As the last Watermelon Wolf fell with a golden shine Salvatore habitually dragged it toward its fallen comrades, then headed into the woods in order to harvest some easy XP from the many Watermelon Wolves that had fallen to his traps, figuring that by now they were under the complete effect of the poison.
