Arise of Enemies

Waking up to gunshots has never been a good way to start the day.

Yawning, she threw her head back on the soft pillow and went back to sleep. As she was about to enter her dreamland the sound of yet another gunshot pulled her back to reality making her jolt in her place then heave a sigh of frustration. Blair took a quick glance at the other side of the bed only to find it empty. 'As usual... Well at least I have the luxury to stay the night. Others don't have it.'

Standing up she approached the huge wall Glace and was met with the first rays of the morning sun.

After the blackness of night, Earth's star has risen on the horizon, spreading her gold in every direction. She comes in the way that natural forces do, needing not invitation yet feeling her welcome. The light is her gift, bold and free, for anyone who cares to open their eyes in the dawn and watch the world awake. This is our pride, our sun; fire that marks the start of a brand new day. Another chance to live.

She wondered what would've happened if she didn't follow her heart that day. That day... Two years ago. It was her first time in many years... the first time she decided to listen to that little voice in her heart... The voice that keeps on going against her brain and his wicked ideas... The voice that has been able to make a dramatic impact on her life and change her fate... Only years later she will be able to tell that this was the voice of destiny calling.

Pictures played in front of her eyes reminding her of that fateful time and so memories began to flow into her mind like a river.

Flashback

"It was a very beautiful sunny day, birds were flying, filling the world with their sweet melodies yet neither the good weather nor the chirping sound could've been enough to tame the agitated fire in her heart. On the contrary, it only made her anger and hatred grow more and more. Seeing the world so happy made her feel as if she has been made fun of. She felt like punching something but there was nothing left to destroy; broken tables and chairs surrounded her at her living room . Her eyes glanced back to her iPad's screen only to confirm what she has read. Her Her feet weren't able to support her body weight anymore so she collapsed against the hard floor as her tears kept on running down her rosy cheeks. They weren't tears of sadness but they were rather tears of anger and somewhat helplessness.

She felt that the world that she has built in the past years has started crumbling down piece by piece and soon she'll have nothing but dust... Just like that time.

And this made her... afraid.

She thought that Fear was one of the emotions that she stopped having yet it came back to hunt her with full force.

Both of her maids were trying their best to comfort her but nothing worked.

As soon as they saw her bloodied hands, Bella went quickly to bring the first-aid kit to sterilize her wounds.

Meanwhile, the other maid stayed behind and approached her miss quietly.

"My lady, you shouldn't be doing this to yourself. You will gain nothing but ruin your health... Instead of crying on the split milk you should be searching for a solution to get out of this dilemma and that will only be possible if you go to their mansion right now." came out the voice of the strong-willed maid.

"I... I can't.. I can't do it" Another word that got lost in her dictionary years ago and came back at that time to show her how weak has she become.

"I can't face them in this vulnerable form. I can't go into the lion's den looking like this. I am... powerless"

At this rate, her tears have stopped from flowing and an emotionless look graced her face.

Without further ado, the woman beside her stood up and went away to her room only to bring out that secret. The secret that she had managed to keep for many years as she has been waiting for the right moment to reveal it... It was this moment.

Raising her head up after what seemed like eternity, Blair was met with the sight of two brown eyes that held a certain emotion. The emotion that she has been living with... Almost her whole life; the desire of revenge!

Looking closely she saw a pair of hands handing her something that looked like... an old folder!

Hesitatingly, she took it and slowly started unwrapping it only to discover the biggest surprise that was waiting for her; the bomb of the year!

After reading it's content three times, her green eyes met the brown ones that were now devoid of any feeling.

Unknowingly, her lips curved into a smile saying:

"Amanda... You-"

"A long story... Feel free to use it to your advantage whenever you want... however you feel like" Amanda's sentence was quick to interrupt her lady and as she was about to reply her a tired voice rang in the corners of the living-room

"Sorry, it took me so long! I couldn't find the aid-kit anywhere so I had to go out to buy a new one from the store."

"No you are on time Bella... A perfect time. Both of you, come and help to dress up and do my makeup. There's an important thing I need to do right now"

And with a quick glance at the now mysterious maid she made her way to her bedroom as they both followed her; one with a smirk and the other one with a clueless mind.

...

While stepping outside her manor, a soft breeze brushed against her skin making her sigh in content. Her eyes roamed around the entrance and as soon as she spotted her driver beside the black car, she made her way there..

The ride was quiet. They were bathed in complete silence. However that didn't last long as someone decided to break it quickly.

''Go ahead Marilyn! If you have something to say, say it now!"

The driver named Marilyn was a bit surprised by her lady's sudden statement and quick judgement, nonetheless she didn't waste any time to replie her.

'' I...I know that these are only rumors and most likely their plan to ruin you and protect their reputation... Please don't let it get to you... S...Sorry... I know this is not my place to-''

''Thank you... for believing in me'' before realizing it her mouth muttered these words on its own, but she didn't regret it... It was nice to remove these barriers once in a while... It felt good to be... just humans.

A small smile graced both of their faces and they stayed silent once again until they reached their destination... Blair's home, or what seemed like that in front of the media.

They were still in the same city yet the air around them seemed very different... almost suffocating. It felt as if the place was radiating poison... the poison that has been able to paralyze her heart long ago.

With ever so graceful movements, she stepped outside of her car and headed towards the main gate where the head maid, Julie, was waiting for her. 'So they were expecting me.'

This whole time, Julie was eyeing their 'guest' with hostility and disgust. She didn't find this woman worthy of being this family's second miss; 'she isn't worth anything.' Without even bothering to welcome her, she led her to the vast living room.

If it was any other day, Blair would've done 'something' about this attitude but today she had far more important things to do.

As she was about to sit down a fake sweet voice echoed in the room making her sigh in annoyance 'Couldn't you find any better time to appear in front of me?' her mind wondered.

''My, Oh My... Look who's here! My dearest baby cousin! Did you miss me? Well sure you did''

''Angela... I didn't expect you to be here but... looks like you don't have any other place to go to, do you? I've heard about your scandal... Be careful! your parents might disown you soon. After all, no one is willing to keep such a bratty spoiled kid as yourself for too long... you might cause them a heart attack the next time you let your creativity explode as usual.''

Saying that, Blair chuckled as she kept on looking at a fuming Angela who couldn't take it anymore and outburst in anger:

''Where do you even get this courage from... wh*re? Listen! If I were you I would've been hiding in my house afraid of showing this filthy face to the world."

"But I'm not you and I'm definitely nothing like your pitiful selves that gets frightened from everything, even from your own shadows. You are nothing but cowards; a shame to me. You don't dare to face others when your image gets stained but I do. You know why? Because I haven't done anything to be ashamed of, unlike some people... Go and complain to your aunty now... Come on, hurry up! Don't let her wait for too long! We don't want her wrinkles to reappear from worry, do we?"

And with that said, she stormed outside the room making her way to her uncle's office without giving a second glance to a red Angela that soon started cursing her loudly after saying: 'We are the ones that are ashamed of having a piece of sh*t like you as our relative..'

Standing in front of the door, she didn't even bother to knock at it as she went inside startling him in the process. Mister Christopher was about to yell at this impolite person but when he saw his niece, his lips curved into a mocking smirk that was soon replaced by a mask of a serious face.

''Blair my dear, welcome to our humble house! How do you do? It has been a while since we last saw you... Well, I wouldn't say it was a long period, but it seems like it was enough to change you. Let me see, you became... less polite. Where are your manners darling? is that how we taught you to enter a room?''

Sitting down, she put on a tight smile and replied him:

''Uncle, you're talking as if this wasn't my house. Has my absence given you... a wrong idea? Well, it's okay. I haven't come here for that and I guess you have an idea why am I sitting in front of you, right?''

''Does it look to you like I have a hidden power of telepathy. oh... wait! Is it perhaps about those awful rumors? Did you come here to seek protection? If it's so then don't worry. We, your family, will do our best to help you in order to overcome it. Even when you stray from the right path we will make sure to bring you back to it. After all, isn't that what a loving family supposed to do''

As soon as he finished talking, a sound of clapping was heard. Mister Christopher was caught off guard but soon enough he composed his posture.

'Bravissimo! Splendid acting as usual!'

Came out the amused voice of Blair that soon turned into a threatening deadly voice:

"When will you start acting like a real man? At least have some shame and admit your doings! How much did you pay them?... I mean those fake witnesses. Or... why bother paying them since you'll get rid of them soon. Will you ever stop throwing your family's dirty laundry at me? Impossible, that will only lead to your downfall. right, uncle? ''

"I don't know who managed to fill your head with these nonsense but... Be careful! You are crossing the line, my daughter !"

''Are you still determined to deny? Ok, then... Don't blame anyone but yourself''

'You're going to regret this... Mister Christopher! Mark my words!'

With that thought, she existed their house leaving behind her a confused man.

"What is she even able to do? This brat is only good at causing headaches. Such a nuisance!' Muttered the old man not knowing that his niece has set on a journey that'll change their lives.
