Chapter 3

Adelaide had left when her tutor wasn't keeping an eye on her. She wasn't about to take orders from someone like her. She had proved to be arrogant in every aspect. Once she had left the grounds, Adelaide took off, running as fast as she could. She didn't want her thoughts to take over.

She took deep breaths, trying to prevent a panic attack. A figure crossed paths with her, but Adelaide could care less. Making sure her mental stability was more important than caring if anyone had a bad impression of her.

She really wanted to murder someone, maybe her old man.

Adelaide could use Filippa's presence right about now. Where could she be right now? She was probably sparring against someone.

She had to deal with this by herself.

"Adelaide? It's time to go home -"

Her friend's disappearance caused her a bit of a shock. She had never seen Adelaide escape a punishment before. For whatever reason, Filippa was determined to find Adelaide. She could only hope she wouldn't get scolded by her parents for arriving home a little late.

What if Adelaide had already left without bidding her goodbye? No, she would never do such a thing.

But at the same time, it wasn't impossible.

What was she thinking? Adelaide would never do such a thing. She needed to hurry before her suspicions were confirmed. She needed to know what happened to Adelaide to make her leave like that. She was sure it was for a good reason. What if something happened to her?

A mysterious raven-head was spectating from afar, watching what his sister was up to. He thought she was crazy for worrying so much about her friend. No matter how much he told her not to, she wouldn't listen. He sighed. Did he have to do everything himself?

He could sense Adelaide's emotions from miles away. None of them were positive at all. It made sense because of her negative mana, but he figured she'd have at least a bit of control over her emotions.

Normally, he'd comfort anyone who was feeling down, but he couldn't get close without harming himself. He'd just have to notify Filippa so she could do it instead. Then, he could feed off the positivity. He came out of his hiding and approached his sister. "If you're looking for Adelaide, she's right outside the classroom," he informed, crossing his arms.

"If you had said that earlier, it would have been more helpful!" Filippa exclaimed, running to the location.
