016 Girls Are Really Scary

The mission was to eliminate the bandits, a task assigned by a border village. 

The destination was about 300 kilometers from Konoha, and the village was home to regular civilians. 

Normally, since it was within the Fire Country's borders, attacks were rare, especially by ninjas.

Normally, only a war with another country would bring such threats to the Nation of Fire and Konoha. 

But for some reason, a group of bandits suddenly appeared in the mountains near the village. 

Every so often, they would raid the surrounding villages, treating the people like livestock. 

The villagers had endured this torment for an entire month.

Finally, the villagers couldn't take it anymore and sent a young man to Konoha to request help. 

Though Simu hadn't seen him, he figured it must have been a desperate move. 

The Land of Fire had its flaws—its infrastructure was weak, and while the daimyo was the leader in name, his control only extended to the capital and a few larger towns.

Small villages on the outskirts had been left unprotected for a long time, with no armed forces to defend them

When attacked by outside forces, their only hope was the ninjas from Konoha Village.

From Simu's point of view, this is a very strange system.

But what did it matter to him?

After all, he was just a low-ranking, unknown ninja in Konoha.

Jiraiya raised his hand, signaling the group to stop. 

"We'll rest here for the night." 

"Understood," the team responded. 

After a quick setup, Minato secured thin wires around the area, attaching small bells that would alert them if an enemy approached. 

Meanwhile, Simu popped a ration pill into his mouth, grumbling:

"This kind of meatball is much worse than barbecue."

"Yeah, it's okay to eat, but you always find something to grumble about," Kushina said, sitting cross-legged on the ground, quietly eating soldier pills to regain her strength.

Meanwhile, Jiraiya was focused on checking the map.

"At this rate, we should reach our destination by early morning,"

Simu glanced at the map and finally asked the question he cared about.

"Well, how much is the mission reward this time?"

Jiraiya pouted speechlessly.

Generally, novices will have two extremes when facing tasks.

One is to turn pale with fear, for fear of being injured or even die during the battle.

The other category is as excited as Kushina.

Eager to complete tasks and prove he has become a real ninja, many in the Ninja Village view becoming a ninja as an honorable achievement. 

But not Simu. 

He wasn't excited about being a ninja or scared of the dangers of his first mission. 

All he cared about was the pay.

Fortunately, Jiraiya was an open-minded person. 

In just a few days, he had come to accept Simu's different way of thinking. 

He pulled out the mission scroll and glanced at it. "This is a C-level task, with a reward of 60,000 Ryo's. 

"Half of that goes to the village, then the team leader gets half of what's left. The rest will be split equally among you."

"That means I'll only get about five thousand ryo," Simu gasped when he heard the news. 

It turns out that Konoha is the capitalist.

Ninjas risked their lives for missions, yet half the reward went to the village. 

Disgusted, he picked his nose and flicked a booger away. "Konoha is ruthless! Why do they take half of the reward?"

 Jiraiya spread his hands helplessly.

"This is the village's regulation, and it has nothing to do with me."

Honestly, if Simu hadn't brought it up, Jiraiya wouldn't have cared about the payment for this mission. 

Simu was about to continue complaining when he suddenly felt a chill beside him. 

Turning his head, he saw that Kushina's red hair had flared up like flames. 

He noticed a black spot had appeared on her innocent face.

"Hey, when did you get that mole, Kushina?" 

Kushina's fists clenched, and her eyes burned with fury. 

"Hanyu Simu!" 

"You're dead meat!" 

Her rock-hard fist came crashing down on Simu without mercy. 

As soon as Simu sensed her killing intent, he activated his elementalization.

Kushinai's terrifying power directly blasted Simu's head into countless light spots.

Her fist smashed through the light and destroyed the giant tree behind him.

"That's terrifying!" Simu thought, his body re-forming on a nearby tree.

Still shaken, he casually picked his nose.

Veins bulged on Kushina's face as she shouted, "Hanyu Simu, if you dare to flick your boogers, I'll tear you in half!" 

Simu quickly pulled his finger away. 

"Girls are really scary"
