The Odds

It didn't take long for the golem to get close to me and its hand was raised high.

With that, I began the plan and dodged the incoming hand.

I dodged the right hand and I ran forward to the golem's torso and delivered a headbutt to it.

*Beep*

<100 227 400 damage inflicted, Golem HP:>

It didn't take long before the helmet informed me about the damage I did to the golem and the remaining HP.

The plan works accordingly to plan and the helm distributes my stats properly for the situation. It's certainly an unusual way to defeat a monster using a headbutt only but with that the only option I got.

I couldn't complain much as it does deal a lot of damage and increase the odds of me surviving this dungeon.

But with a quick look, I noticed that the golem raised its arm again and I didn't wait for the incoming hit and dodged the left hand and did another headbutt on the golem.

*Beep*

<100 127 400 damage inflicted, Golem HP:>

Another critical hit landed, but before I could celebrate the success of the plan. The golem started to act differently as if its rage was rising and its arm was raised higher than usual.

With the increase in rage and the increased speed, the golem starts to become more unpredictable.

And that was when the helmet warned me about the upcoming danger and told me to dodge the incoming strike.

*Beep*

<Warning! The Golem has entered its rage mode. Dodge or you would be heavily damaged.>

The warning wasn't much help and I tried to dodge the incoming arm, but it was faster and I didn't have the time to dodge the strike.

It didn't take long before I was slammed and hit the ground and I was rolling like a rag doll and ended up crashing the wall. Yet I was surprised to see that I was still alive because I thought that it would surely kill me as I didn't have that much HP left.

"How am I alive? Why am I still alive? I should have died, but why?"

*Beep*

<To preserve the user life, I had to adjust all of stats into vitality and increase HP.>

Hearing the helmet reply and with the help of the stat screen. I was sure that all of my stats were transferred into vitality and increased my HP. This makes sense since increasing the vitality stats would increase my HP. Not by a lot but at least that would keep me alive and that was the reason I was still alive.

"But still, why the golem didn't follow up with another strike and finish me off immediately?"

*Beep*

<Because its HP is getting lower, the golem rage mode uses to be triggered. When of gets lower. It would deactivate and continue fight. With that, has left returned normal.>

"So, the helmet says the golem has returned to its original form. That's good news, but can we beat it with all of my stats being put in vitality? And how much left the golem HP?"

*Beep*

<As 57 for the Golem HP, HP is currently at 400.>

It seems like one strike would be enough to take them down the golem. Because the rage mode that it activated seems to consume a lot of its HP.

However, I do notice that the helmet doesn't give me any probability of surviving and winning this fight.

Which means that there's no chance for me to win this battle and the helm knew that.

"I think I will gamble and try to deliver the last headbutt," I say to the helmet.

*Beep*

<The chance of you succeeding is 0.0001% As the original plan has failed due to unforeseen events.>

"Even so, I think I will try, but before that, could you tell me whether the golem is heading this way or not?"

*Beep*

<Yes. The Golem is currently walking in your direction.>

With the helmet info, I got up and looked towards where the golem was heading. Even with all of the pain that I have been experiencing right now, I felt like I needed to try my luck and win this.

Also, I have ordered the helmet the alter my stats again. This time around, I would it to distribute some of my stats to INT. So that I could have at least one more chance to activate the helmet buff.

I do wish to distribute my stats to the one that gives me the speed edge. But the helmet doesn't recommend me to do so… All because reducing the stats on my vitality after being in this state of pain, would kill me instantly.

And even reducing my vitality stats right now would give me a tremendous amount of pain… which I might not be able to handle.

But despite the risk, I still wanted to do it since this was all the chance that I had left. Well, not really a chance but a gamble with the odds against me.

With that being said, the helmet altered my stats once again just like it said earlier. It was painful indeed. I struggled to stand up but even so, I didn't give up and started to stand there and wait for the golem to get close to me.

I have no idea what was the reason why I was still trying and didn't run away. But maybe it was the fact that running away could just lead me to the same situation with another monster. So instead of running away like a coward, I would headbutt my way to freedom.

It didn't take long for the golem and our eyes met, the golem was about to raise its arm and strike at me, but instead of dodging away.

I dash towards the golem and deliver a headbutt towards the golem when it's about the punch me. My plan is simple but either I inflict damage first or I would get a massive hit from the golem which would probably kill me.

So, the moment the helmet said that the golem was about to attack, I dashed towards the golem and delivered the headbutt before the golem could land the hit.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
