-Chapter Two

His mother was not the type to make rash decisions without his knowledge. Not to mention that she's not much of a jokester either. He looked across the table to the man in front of him, that was now picking at his food awkwardly. He knew that the dark-haired woman looked young, but the man was way too young for her. At least they seemed to be familiar with one another.

"Umm... momma, not to be rude or anything, but when was this decision made?" Magnus asks hesitantly. The woman looked up with anger in her eyes. A cue for his son to go back to eating. "We fell in love and decided to get married in secret," Miss Sanna says platonically.

Dinner was mostly silent and sheepish after that conversation. It was determined that Mr. Miller is supposed to move in by next week.

Magnus had no say in this, no other choice but to sit there quietly. Although, on another note, the guest was visibly attractive in general. They glanced up at the boy upfront and dissolved some of the tension away with a smile...

Mr. Miller ended up leaving earlier than expected that night, with the excuse of school being early tomorrow morning.

The son and his mom, Miss Sanna were now tidying up with a heavy silence. "E-excuse me?.. he's a stranger-", the boy says after finishing the dishes in the kitchen.

"No, he is not! He is way less of a stranger than your father is to me right now", the woman confesses, avoiding eye contact.

Magnus doesn't respond to this. "Then why didn't you talk to me about it?.. Momma, I thought we passed this, you can trust me, remember?" The mother sighs before suddenly walking away. She pauses her steps and mumbles "Yeah you're right" to him, that was just enough validation to change the young man's demeanour. The son wipes his wet hands with a towelette with a soft smile, after hearing the woman's barely audible words.

The next day, the teenager did his typical morning routine. He found himself glancing at the mirror a bit longer. Not overly skinny like a few guys his age in school, but there was no wanna-be abs insight from his slim body. with an easy-to-burn fair skin tone. He went to school like normal. He was stuffing his locker at the moment while wearing his freshly ironed uniform from last night.

"Magnus!" a male student yells out from behind. "Hey Jimmy, how are you today?", Magnus turned around to ask his friend. Jimmy gave his friend a sad smile. "I'm managing I guess... I try not to think about it at school, or her", the black-haired friend responds, with less energy.

The light blonde-haired male frowns in empathy, he can somehow imagine the pain that the other was facing at the moment.

Jimmy Martin, Magnus's best friend since year 9 of secondary school. They had found common ground of that they both had sisters. Well, Jimmy, being the one with the most sisters. They were the same age, with the same height as well. He had black hair, dark brown puppy dog eyes, and medium beige skin colour. His long-time girlfriend broke his fragile heart into bits and pieces a few days ago, Magnus always thought that they would stay together forever. He finds his best friend a little too good for this cruel world and wished to take his pain away.

"Jimmy, trust me when I say that I would game with you all night if I could", he admits. He was trying to find a way to reassure him that he won't leave him as well. "Dude~ you're always so nice, but it's ok", Jimmy smiled. It was sort of a way of saying 'yes, this is my first heartbreak but most likely won't be my last'.

"Anyways, what's new with you?" he asked while leaning on a locker by left side. "Well... Something strange happened last night", Magnus began, telling his companion his situation and most of last night.

After a while of explaining, the dark-haired male gave his best friend a strange look, crossing between, I understand... but I don't get it. "what the hell?... So what I'm hearing is that there's a hot guy involved, but your mom already called dibs", Jimmy replied half-jokingly. Magnus stares back at him with a blank expression. "Kidding! Look, you have both options when it comes to crushes, just don't go for family..." Jimmy continued. "He's not family, I don't even know him so I was a little upset with my mother, I don't wanna see her get hurt" the slim lad admits, pushing his hair back.

"It's okay to be mad at your mom you know, she has been a real b-word later", Jimmy says sourly.

"I know right! She's been such a ...broccoli", They say in unison, making Magnus giggle. "Man, you've been maturing a lot these days, even your voice sounds manlier", Jimmy confesses with a whiny tone. Making the green-eyed blond roll his eyes playfully.

A short female student with dark braids appeared at the scene, to then slam a hand with their body weight on a locker nearby.

"Hey losers... You both ditched me last night", she says in a monotone voice. "Hi, Rebecca! I-i said goodbye to you remember? So if anyone, be mad at Jimmy!" Magus quickly says, before checking the time.

The dark-haired teen gasps in betrayal. He clears his throat in frustration before calming down. "I like your new hairstyle by the way", Magnus changes the subject.

The bell rings making Rebecca stand up straight, hand off the locker. "I wanted to shave my hair short, but my mom made me get these", she says. To then lick her lips covered in black mat lipstick. "I think it looks nice as well", Jimmy asserts, as they all started walking to their classes. Even though, they were in diverse lessons.

Rebecca Yanet Aken, the youngest of the friend group at an age of 15. Friends since the beginning of this year. She has a unique goth-like style, which the school board doesn't let her express. As a closet "weeb", they quickly became best friends and gamer buddies not so long ago. Dark brown coloured skin, with black curly hair which is now in braids.

"I have a strange story to tell you later ok?" Magnus mentioned to Rebecca, before going into his classroom.

As the youngster took a seat in one of his favourite classes, science, he couldn't help but think of his current situation. 'As long as my momma is happy then it shouldn't be much of a problem', thinks the boy. He was fidgeting with a pen as the teacher went on and on about an upcoming test next month, but Magnus couldn't seem to focus at all. After all, starting next week, he will be living with his mother's new husband. The boy hoped that next week wouldn't come.
