It's been about a week. Magnus was on the phone with one of his older sisters at the moment. It was not that rare for them to call, but early in the morning like this was a bit strange.
(Hey Buddy, how is it at home with the boss?) the oldest sister Olivia asks his younger brother. "Well... I don't know if you know, but things are quickly changing." Magnus replied.
Magnus and his sisters had a quite calm relationship with one another. The best way to put it is that they haven't been siblings for very long. So the boy appreciates how they could casually communicate well like this. Unlike how his mother has been making him talk on the phone with her new husband, those conversations are more or less filled with awkward tension. The older male asks questions like, when is your birthday and such...
(Yikes... Anyways, you're invited to Lili's baby shower! I'll send you the date and information tomorrow ok?) Olivia announced to the young man. Magnus wasn't very surprised by this, as Lili, his other older sister, had already gone off and gotten married after moving out. Although, it was a little strange that Lili wasn't the one calling. "Sounds great! I'll tell momma about it", Magnus responds with a slightly enthusiastic voice.
The blond-haired boy headed downstairs to the kitchen. On the counter near the window, he poured some milk from a bag into a blue cup, with some Maple syrup cookies on a small plate to the side. Before he had a chance to take a bite of a cookie, he witnessed two cars pulling up to the driveway outside. Magnus put his cookie down slowly and then turned around to walk out of the kitchen. He went back upstairs in hurry, knowing all too well that they would ask for his help with the move today.
The male entered his slim body into his room closing the door behind him. "Ugh, how could I leave my cookies behind", he mumbles to himself. Right at that moment, he hears a ring coming from his computer.
Magnus sat down to answer the call. [dude! Guess what] Jimmy starts enthusiastically. "Hidden treasure that needs three people to access?!" Magnus replies with the same energy. [nope! Yanet found a really cool RPG game that we can play together] Jimmy announced. [but... it's actually alpha, long story short, remember that summer school camp thingy?] "Yeah, we were suffering most of the time", Magnus answered honestly. [Well turns out the counsellor that Yanet was basically in love with, developed a game.] Magnus's mouth hung open in surprise, Jimmy smiled at this.
"You mean the one that wouldn't leave us alone for a second because we wouldn't do the activities". He questioned, even when he knew the answer to that. [yes it is, ironic, isn't it! He would punish us for playing games with our techs, and now he made a game?] Yes, Magnus remembered those days as it was not that long ago.
{"Alright, everyone! Free time is over, please head to your next scheduled course" a counsellor announced loudly. He had Jet Black Hair with a buzz cut and wearing a shirt that seemed to be a uniform along with slacks. The little hut outside with people sitting down was filled with chatter as they started moving around.
Three heads could be seen looking down at their laps to a device. "Maybe if we ignore him, he won't notice us" Rebecca whispers, continuing her game. "Seriously? You guys are right in front of me!" the same counsellor confesses. "What do you guys have right now anyway? I got archery", she tells the others. "Mmm- I think I got arts and crafts or maybe swimming, not sure," Magnus mumbles while not taking his eyes off his screen. "What? Not fair, I think my parents signed me up for the wrong program, I have to teach advanced mathematics to a bunch of loners that missed a few classes this year" Jimmy whines in defeat.
"Oh- counsellor Chol, I didn't see you there!" the slim lad with a sea-green gaze declared openly, looking up to furious eyes. "Where did you guys manage to get those? Electronics are in case of emergencies only, you guys knew this" counsellor Chol remarks, crossing his arms.
The three of them stayed quiet while looking down in shame at the statement. The counsellor sighs and uncrossed his arms. "look, you'll have these technologies after this program, and for a very long time at that" he begins, getting strange stares from them. "Just take a second and look around at the nature surrounding you, back in the dark ages... you guys can't even begin to imagine how hard it was for them. All I'm asking is for just a little extra of your time to do simple activities, not lay your life down". He expressed, reaching his hand out in front of them. "He's right guys, let's just get it over with and quit wasting their time", the so what emo figure says, offering her electronic device to the counsellor, making him smile. Soon, the others followed. "easy for you to say, You're not going to do math all day" Jimmy grumbles, while getting up with the rest of them.
"You know... you also don't know what it was like for them either Mr. Chol, and I bet they would be happier with a simple distraction like this... I sure am", the green-eyed teen admitted, suddenly sounding disturbed. He then walked away to catch up with the others.}
"Yeah~ we really couldn't handle anything back there, all we wanted to do was game all day" Magnus confirmed. [ok she just sent me the link] Jimmy says after hearing a ping from his computer screen.
"Magnus darling! Come help out" Sanna yells from behind the door. She then knocked before opening the bedroom door. "Welcome back mama, can it wait please?" the blond-haired lad asked nicely while looking up from the face time screen. The dark-haired woman smiled stiffly and walked away leaving the door open. "Sorry, Jimmy but I got to go, I'll text you guys when I'm ready to play," Magnus says, leaving his dark-haired friend at a loss for words as he hangs up. The green-eyed boy lets out a soft sigh before getting up from his chair to leave the room.
