Awakening II

Henry calmed down and went to sit under the crystal, he forcefully gulped the slime like substance with some difficulty. After calming down closed his eyes and started breathing in a weird but rhythmic manner like his uncle told him.

Just as Henry was calming down and the air was filling his body he felt an excruciating pain in his stomach, he figured that it was probably the slime he drank just now. The pain started to spread across his body, in a matter of seconds the pain covered his entire body.

Henry ignored the pain and continued to breath rhythmically, a few moments after finishing a round of his breathing technique, a new pain spread across his body in the same manner.

His body started to flicker with a soft light, the surrounding atmosphere buzzed for a moment. The crystal above him got a little fast but than returned to normal. This was a signal that he was done but he carried on.

After a while of this his body bulged and his vains throbbed. The pain was becoming hard to ignore so he kept telling himself that it would be over soon.

"Sometimes a little discomfort in the beginning can save a whole lot of pain down the road." Henry kept repeating this mantra in his head. His uncle had taught him multiple was to deal with pain if he couldn't bare it any more and destruction was one of them

Time passed, seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into an hour, at this point Hue and kento started getting worried as this was unexpected, just than an excruciating scream left Henry's mouth as his mind went black for a moment before he passed out.

Surprisingly he continued with his breathing techniques until the pain lessened. His body still in perfect lotus position, the others didn't know that he had passed out. Moments later a burst of winds came from Henry's body and soon after his body went limp.

He was drenched in sweat as his clothes stuck to his skin. His body temperature which was previously high started to decrease, his body would twitched in pain every so often.

"Was that suppose to happen" Kento asked with a worried expression

"I don't know but I think that was a good thing" Hue replied as he walked towards the unconscious boy. Hue moved him to a sepperate place so the others could get their turn.

The others got a different vile from Henry, their vile was slimy but not as thick as the one Henry got.

"Grandpa does it hurt for the first time" Chiyo asked nervously as she looked up at her grandpa

"Calm down don't worry, you'll only feel a slight pain at the beginning and after that it's gonna be calming" Kento looked down and kissed her on the forehead. "Tell me which class do are you gonna pick" Kento asked

"Most of our family members consists of magicians and samurai's but after giving it some thought, I've decided to be a magical archer" Chiyo said as she calmed down.

"Oh what happened to being a beast tamer or a summoner" Kento asked

"Grandpa that was years ago, I've long since changed. I think I've out grown that dream" Chiyo responded with a giggle

"Right as long as your happy" Kento said, feeling a little embarrassed he didn't know what class her daughter wanted.

What are classes I hear you ask. When humans turned fifteen their bodies would finish developing a strong base and depending on what path one wanted to pick their bodies with the help of mana would grow accordingly. The trick was that they could only choose during the awakening ceremony and there were no undoing what was done. After years of trial and errors humans had finally documented the different paths there were to take. Although they were fare from done, they already had a large variety.

Chiyo gulped down the vile and started with her awakening, minutes later she opened her eyes, she was covered in sweat. Kento handed her a towel and she moved to the side. Korah had her turn next.

Henry woke up as Akira was performing his awekaning and saw how effortless and quick the boy had his ceremony, he looked at his uncle with a wronged and confused expression. Not fare from him the sisters were sitting on the grass covered in towels. Chiyo smiled at him and gestured for him to move closer. Korah only glanced at him but Henry felt like she was looking down on him, his guess was that their awakening was also easy. Henry felt like punching the ground and screaming "My pain is FARE GREATER THAN YOURS" but he just ignored her.

Akira and Henry arrived infront of the group. When Henry looked at the others he felt their presence which was like a small ball of fire. When he looked at Kento and Hue he didn't feel anything, he knew what this meant, it meant that they were either normal humans with no mana or they were just hiding it and he wasn't strong enough to feel it.

He tried his breathing technique again and he felt a warm energy enter his body. The energy made him feel stronger than he was. Once the energy entered his body it seemed to follow his commands. He also felt like his surroundings was alive.

"Perks.. huh" Henry thought as his eyes moved away from the girls to the approaching Uncle. He did it so fast that if he was any faster even the author wouldn't have seen him. He was just glad that kento was away.

"Congratulations you guys awakened successfully, now let's get that smell off of you" Kento walked up to them with a proud expression. They sweat had made them smelly and sticky.

As soon as Kento said those words Henry got nervous and looked at his uncle, the latter smiled and placed his hand on Henry's shoulder.

This time when Henry's vision returned he was struck with a sharp pain across his body. All his senses were in a worse state which surprised him since he thought he was getting use to it. He calmed himself and sat down in the lotus position and closed his eyes to inspect his body, the little energy/mana in his body moved around in chaos and was wreaking havoc. It took him a while but he stopped it.

Henry opened his eyes and saw that the others were also experiencing the same dilemma. After a while they also opened their eyes.

Henry looked around and saw that they were back at the academy, the air around him felt weird and empty, after a while figured the reason why. The mana in the air was almost non existent.

"The air feels somewhat off, the air down there was better. Was it due to the crystal?" Chiyo asked.

"Yeah, I don't think I need to tell you that you should keep that place a secrete right" Uncle Hue responded

"That crystal is amazing as hell" Henry said under his breath. What he said was understandable, comparing that place and this place was comparing night to day it was obviously clear which was bright and which was dark.

"Haha that's just a prototype, you should see the real thing near the core of the planet" Uncle Hue laughed and said jokingly, which shocked the kids. "Don't ask me that place is fare more dangerous" he added when he saw them wanting to ask him.

"OK I'm done. Now, me and Hue are gonna be gone for a while so I hope that you will behave yourself" Kento came out of the admin building and said.

The group talked for a while before Hue and Kento disappeared. The kids parted ways, not out of hostility but because they all needed to take a shower.

When Henry arrived at his dorm he saw luther and the others also drenched in swaet with their toiletries in hand.

"You had us worried when you disappeared on us but looking at the state your in you move have had a nice awakening huh. Feel free to join us were heading to the showers." Luther said

Henry entered his room, he was so tired that he felt like jumping straight to bed but he grabbed his things and went to the bathroom.
