The inmate awoke and stretched as he got out of his bed. With a yawn, he peaked to the side approaching the door. The panel was green, the time was 9:00 am.
As he wrung out his muscles Sano looked to the window seeing shadow cast from the wall beyond.
Sunlight. Natural, bonafide, blinding sunlight. The inmate never used the holo feature on his window for this exact reason. You can't appreciate sunlight the same once you've seen it only through a dank helmet for a decade on.
He caught sight of his god-arc and nodded towards it before moving to the dresser. When the inmate first arrived he had nothing except his god-arc, black pants, black jacket, prison shirt, and a pair of shoes with withered socks. Of course, the majority of clothing was withered, but compared to the socks they were stable.
Sano rummaged through the drawer, going through a multitude of clothing he had been gifted. Erina, frivolous as she was, was ready to buy out the clothing store. However, after one awkward day when Hibari demanded he washes his clothes he warned her he'd had to do it naked.
Realizing the inmate had no article of clothing in reserve, the Operator directed him to the donation box for spare clothes. Eager as she was Sano and Hibari had to shut down Erina's impulsive spending.
Of course, later on, Sano couldn't deny Erina's request to get him a spare coat. Kanon even helped him pick one.
For now, the inmate settled for his usual attire of a black coat, his prison shirt, and black pants. It was just another workday.
With another stretch, Sano's god-arc appeared in his hands and went towards the door. The door slid open and the inmate was unsurprised at what happened next.
GOOD MORNING!!!
Kanon and Erina greeted so cheerfully it was almost mundane.
"Hey." Sano said, as walked between them to the elevator.
"Oh, Sano I made breakfast for us today! Here!" Kanon held a bag up to Sano, catching him a bit off guard. After he took his Erina was already graciously munching on a biscuit.
"Let's eat on the way." Sano said as he put a red biscuit in his mouth.
As they walked down the hall, out came Hibari, holding a steaming cup and a folder. Seeing the three approach her Hibari waved and joined their ranks.
"Good morning." She said plainly, with a yawn.
"Hey." Sano replied as Erina & Kanon did the same.
"Ya want some fresh biscuits Hibari?" Kanon asked.
"I'm alright, I just need this coffee." Hibari said with a yawn.
As the group approached the elevator, Sano felt a pull on his leg.
Good Morning
Sano looked down to see Mutsumi waving at him with a smile.
"Hey." Sano said with a smile.
"Can we hang out today?" Mutsumi asked.
"We'll see, you ready for school?" Sano asked.
"Thanks to you." Mutsumi cheered.
Since I haven't been able to go near the Lounge without Little French Maid putting her hand on the trigger I avoided it for Mutsumi's sake. Imagine my surprise when I found out Sakaki put me on the same floor as her. I didn't even know she lived here.
Since she actually works in The Den she takes classes in the building and out to keep up her education. Paylor put his foot down on that I heard.
I run into the kid in the mornings and at night I catch her trying to solve extra credit questions. Asking anyone who might know. I give her my best answer and so far I'm 10 for 10. Now she drops meals off to me if there are leftovers.
Between Kanon and Mutsumi I've never had so much to eat. Not even before I went to prison...
As the elevator opened the girls filed in a formation that left the inmate in the center.
"(Almost clockwork.)" the inmate thought.
So I guess things aren't too normal for me now.
I wake up, sometimes before my lock is open, I get up and go out the door. Greet the neighbors(Hibari&Mutsumi), who aren't behind 3-5 inches of oracle-enforced padded walls(Also soundproof), and head for the training room to see Kane and Erina. I give them the usual routine roll the metal block like a tire, squats, and then run laps around the building.
Too bad I can only join them for two of those. At times they'll be right out my door instead of the training room, like today. Actually, they do it almost every day now.
With the addition of Emil, he will usually wait in the training room for us, cooking up tea. He really knows his tea.
I haven't heard from Sakaki about hunting Ogumura, but he has bigger problems so I'm not surprised. But still...
Sano sat in the lobby by Hibari's desk, sitting in thought. Hibari was doing her usual workload, group-calling whos know how many people.
"(Does she ever take a break?)" the inmate thought. The Den was sub-par inhabited, much to his liking, it made talking privately easier.
Too bad Hibari's job was talking to 10's of people at once.
Kanon, Erina, and Emil were out running the building perimeter. Mutsumi was at school today, outside The Den. Kota could be in a meeting or mission briefing. Licca was everywhere these days.
"(Maybe I should just forget it for today.)" Sano thought as he closed his eyes.
I doubt the girls will take long anyway. Emil however...
Ahemm!!!!!
Sano shifted awake to see Hibari staring at him, expecting a response back. He raised a brow and looked around the room. The only one around was a red-hatted man talking to a buff lady in janitor gear.
Sano looked to Hibari and just waited for some kind of signal.
After a few moments of silence and Hibari decided to break it herself.
"You look like you want to ask me something." she said, in a rather antagonizing way.
Sano awkwardly shrugged before he left the couch to approach Hibari.
"(Like you have the time anyway.)" Sano thought bitterly.
"What can Operator Hibari do for ya?" Hibari asked with finger guns.
Sano inwardly sighed.
"You are a weirdo." he said as he rubbed his neck.
"Hurry before I get another call." Hibari said, patting her desk like a drum.
"I'm not sure how to ask this." Sano said as he dropped his eyes to the desk.
"Just say the first thing that comes to your mind, it'll help." Hibari advised,
The inmate opened his mouth but let it shut last minute.
"Keep trying." Hibari encouraged.
The inmate breathed in deep and let out a sharp breath as stared Hibari in the eye.
"Dr. Daigo Ogumura." he said.
Hibari's eyes widened. She tightened her firsts and her frown nearly became a scowl.
With Sano already in front of her, what could she say about her current reaction?
She took a deep breath, gaining some measure of composure. Sano didn't seem to be surprised at this reaction. Locking eyes with the inmate she finally decided how to respond.
"A lot of things." Hibari said, imitating the first thought method she advised to the inmate.
EXCUSE ME
The inmate and Hibari turned to see an individual dressed in a Fenrir Military Uniform albeit off-color.
Sano's eyes widened, and he felt his heart fall with his stomach as he started going pale.
"Greetings mam, I'm from the Fenrir Department of Corrections. Prison Guard Major Weston Churchhill. I believe your director was expecting my arrival." the Officer said.
