Chapter 1: Karma's a bitch

"karma's a bitch" were the words of a new restaurant employee looking at his fellow employee falling on the floor and struggling to get up

"Easy for you to say! You wouldn't handle moping the floor" His employee gave him his stink eye while pointing at him

"Bitch, I worked here longer than you and got employee of the month," said the other employee with a mocking smile.

Suddenly both of them felt something heavy on their heads. One fell on the floor while the other fell on the counter.

"If you have time to talk then you have time to work...SO GET BACK TO WORK!" an older person came and yelled at both of them so hard, he puts kids to shame

"YES SIR!" Both of them then returned to work as their stations and started cleaning.

Meanwhile, the old person walked away from them and entered the back room with a grumble.

"Man, If the Manager catches us slacking again he will fire us. Heh, right Adrian?" The Employee turns to look at the boy named Adrian cleaning the counter.

"Maybe if you wouldn't stop shutting your winey ass up we wouldn't be in trouble all the time Mike" Adrain crossed his arms while looking at mike who was laughing dryly at him

"Hey! Turn up the volume, I want to hear the news" Mike said with a little enthusiasm as he continued moping the floor.

"Mike wanted to watch the news? It looks like the end of the world" Adrain said as he took the Mic and turned on the volume

"Dr. Gregor, you said there has been an increase of many Conduits and Bio-terrorists around the world and that the D.E.A.L is looking to help them?" A woman was now interviewing an old scientist

"You are right Wendy. Our primary goal is to help Conduits and Bio-terrorists find a better home away from the hurt and pains of the world" The Scientist said with a sympathetic tone

"We provide them with food, shelter, and even some form of entertainment. in exchange, they can help us unlock the secrets of discovering how the powers work," The man said as he rubbed his mustache

"Well isn't that sweet-" Adrain then turned off the television sat the remote down.

"Hey, why did you close it!" Mike said with a pout on his face.

"Mike, who would watch this stuff? I mean they are-" he was stopped by a ringing coming through the front door.

The door opened up to see a girl with brown hair and blue eye. she had a tattoo of a heart on her face and she was wearing what looked like a jacket and short jeans. She then took a seat in

"Welcome! May I take your order?" Adrian arrived at the table with his notebooks and pencil.

"I heard you have all you can eat challenge here?" she looked at Adrian with a serious face.

"Ho ho ho you think you can take on this challenge?" Adrian said with a surprising reaction.

"I think I can do it," she said with a confident smile.

Adrian moved away from the table and started walking towards the kitchen. he then saw the kitchen staff working.

"listen up people, we got a code black!" as soon as he said that each worker stopped in his place before letting go of everything they had.

While they were working on the food, Adrian went ahead and returned to the lady's table.

"The food will be ready shortly ma'am. May get you something to drink while you wait?" he said as he pointed to the soda machine right on the counter.

"No thanks. I hate soda" She said with disgust on her face.

Adrian then waited for a couple of minutes before the woman started to talk again. But, this time with a serious tone of voice.

"Hey, have you seen this guy?" She took a photo out of her jacket before showing it to Adrian.

He took the picture from his hand and started to inspect the person on it. He is a bald adult with tattoos on both his arms and is wearing casual clothes.

"Can't say I do." He returned the picture to her to which she returned it to her jacket.

"Damn. If you do see him mind giving me a call? I have a 'certain' history with him." She said as she held out her phone in front of Adrian.

'Sure, why not let me just add my number to a random stranger's phone. I'm sure nothing bad will happen' Adrain thought to himself as he took the phone and started adding his number in.

She then took the phone from his hand after he finished and realized she hasn't asked for his name.

"Umm, what's your name?" She said as had an embarrassing smile.

"Adrain. Adrain Linch," He said before leaving her table and returning to the kitchen. When he entered the kitchen he found a mountain of burgers, sandwiches, and fries all standing tall on a serving plate

He then took the serving plate and carried the mountain of food back to the lady, who was looking at the mountain of food with hunger and determination. Before she began, Adrain took a stop-clock and recorded her time of eating.

[After 20 minutes later...]

"Ahhhh, that hit the spot," The woman said as she laid back on the chair after finishing the mountain of food on her table.

"Congratulations! You finished the challenge in under 30 minutes. A new record" Adrain said as he stopped the stop-clock and grabbed a camera.

"Now let us take this award-winning smile" She then held a peace sign while still laying back on the chair as he took the picture.

"Thank you for the food and here is a tip for all your trouble," She said as she got up and exited the restaurant and closed the door behind her.

Adrain then placed the camera down and grabbed the plate before turning to a Smiling Mike.

"So, did you get her phone number?" Said Mike as he was smiling like a total pervert while waving his hands towards Adrien.

"It's not like that Mike and also gets that shit-eating grin out of my face before I punch you," He said before passing through Mike and going to the kitchen to place to plate at the sink before returning to the counter.

Mike then sled across the floor next to Adrain with that still shit-eating grin and started to grasp his shoulders.

"C'mon help brother out to get laid. I'll even through you and extra favor. What do you say?" He said as he started to massage his shoulders to which Adrian responded to him by moving his hand away from him and through his coat next to the cupboard.

"Mike, it's not like I don't like you. It's because I don't like you" Said Adrain as he took his cap off placing it on a nearby locker.

"Besides she is way out of your league. Bye Mike!" That was all he said before leaving the restaurant and walking straight back home.

[Nighttime...]

Adrain looked at the doormat in front of him as it held a lot of letters, mostly advertisements or scams. He then slid them under the doormat before opening the front door to his apartment.

'Home sweet home' he said to himself as he put his door key on a nearby disk and entered his room. He then proceeded to throw his body on his bed without care.

"So...Soft," He said while laying on the mattress in pure bliss. He turned his back to open his eyes and see his roof.

'This my life huh? Seems dull...Like I'm missing some adventure in my life. Well whatever I'm sure nothing bad will happen to me was all he said before closing his eyes and preparing to sleep

'...I forget to take a shower

[Timeskip to tomorrow's morning...]

'SHIT SHIT SHIT I WOKE TOO LATE!!!' Adrain as fast as his little legs can to his workplace.

When he arrived he entered the restaurants as sneaky as he can be not alert the manager that he was late but...

"YOUR LATE YOU IDIOT!" The manager jump scared from him from behind with enough force for him to fall on the floor.

"Sorry..." The manager turned his head at him and then walked away. Adrain got up from the floor and wore his work clothes over his casual clothes to began the day.

The door then opens to find a man who enters and sits down at a random table in the middle of the restaurant. Adrain approached the man and was ready to take his order.

"Welcome! May I-" He stopped temporarily upon closer look to observe the man's face. He had a bald head and had some tattoos on his hand. He tries to remember where he has seen him before.

'isn't that...' he then remembers where he has seen this man before

[Flashback...]

"Damn. If you do see him mind giving me a call? I have a 'certain' history with him."

[End of Flashback]

"Aren't you..." Adrain muttered some words before the door opened this time but with more force and loudness.

Adrain turned around to find some D.E.A.L officers armored and armed holding their weapons in front of him.

"Wait! What are you-!" Adrain then felt someone grab him from behind while holding his neck. It was the same man he saw in the photo but this time smoke was coming out of his hands

"Let him go! now!" That was all the officers said as the man continued taking Adrain as a hostage.

"I don't want to hurt anybody! Just let me go and I won't hurt this poor kid!" The man shooted as smoke shot itself from his hands onto a near officer as a warning shot.

Adrain looked this and was only thinking on thing
