Chapter ten

It was 3 a.m when Chad's concert came to an end, he went to meet Amelia who was waiting for him somewhere in the arena but when he went to the place she was supposed to wait for him she was not there. He looked all over for her in the arena but he could not find her, so he decided to go to the parking lot to find her and he saw her sleeping peacefully in the driver's seat of the car. He did not want to disturb her sleep, and gently carried her from the driver's seat to the passenger's seat. He  took the keys from her purse and drove the car to her house.

He carried her to her room and used a blanket to cover her, this whole time he could not take his eyes off her, she was pretty no doubt but she was as stubborn as she was pretty. He tucked loose strands of her hair that fell freely over her face behind her ears.

He wanted to leave her there like this but he decided to stay there till the sun rise. He could not just leave her here alone.

The sun started rising from the east and the day started becoming brighter. Chad opened her room curtains and sun rays seep into her room making it brighter.

Amelia woke up with a yawn and when she found herself in her room she became surprised, she fully remembered that she was not at home last night and that she slept off in the car while waiting for Chad's concert to be over, but now she was mysteriously on her bed in her room.

She stood up from her bed and when she saw Chad leaning on the wall in her room she fell back to her bed, appalled.

"What are you doing here?" She asked him when she had recovered from her shock.

"Is this how you speak to a prince of your country in the morning?" Prince Chad said with a lot of pride.

She frowned and she chews the side of her mouth.

'He always had his ego up' She said to herself. 

"Well, bonjour, votre altesse." She greeted in French when translated to English it means 'Good morning, your highness'.

"What did you just say, I do not understand French." Prince Chad told her and she became surprised.

"You are in a French-speaking country and you do not understand French?"

Chad walked towards her and she backed away. He stopped right in front of her bed.

"That is why I need you." He said smirking.

"I am not your tour guide." She hissed.

"But I can make you."

"I am tired of all this bullshit." Then she remembered that Chad was still with her id card. "where is my id card you, thief?"

"Wow, you are calling me a thief now, that's some guts you have, well I will hold unto it for some time."

"Give it back."

"You will have to do as I say before I give it back. Teach me how to speak the French language." Chad said smiling and Amelia's eyebrow furrowed. "Don't you want to make your clothing brand prestigious? Do you know that I have the power and influence to do that?"

"Fine, I will be your freaking French tutor." She crossed her arms on her chest. "What are you even doing in my house?"

"Nothing."

"How did you even know where I live?" Her eyebrows furrowed more. "You were stalking me."

"Maybe."

She looked around.

"Hope you didn't do anything with me?" Her eyes narrowed and Chad laughed. "You..."

"Nothing happened, trust me."

"I don't trust you."

"Something should have happened if you are more attractive." He teased and she threw a pillow at him.

"Then go and find someone attractive to drive and teach you French." She shut her eyes and  played with her fingers.

"I've found one already."

"And who is that unfortunate person?" She opened her eyes smirking.

"You." He said with a grin plastered on his face.

"When I look around I see a lot of discrimination, I see a lot of injustice, and I see people let pride and selfishness consume them, especially those taking the lead. Things don't have to be like that," Calvin spoke on the podium in the international meeting with top world rulers "Why can't we let love, peace and unity thrive in this world? Why can't we focus on people's strengths instead of their weaknesses? Why can't we focus on what people are capable of doing of their race, social and economic status? We can make the world a better place." He paused.

"Notice how I said 'we' because this is not a one man's job, no man on his own could ever bring peace and unity to this world, we have to do this together, together we are strong, together we can stop injustice, together we achieve peace and unity in this world." He raised his hand in the air, with his index and middle finger making a V pattern--the popular peace sign. Everyone in the hall applauded they loved Calvin's speech and they wanted to help him achieve his goal of bringing peace and unity to the whole world.

Calvin was able to present this speech with the help of Kate.

Rumours started spreading around the kingdom that Calvin sometimes had relations with the workers of the castle and this made Calvin angry, it hurt his pride, he ordered all the media companies in KU and some media companies beyond KU to make these rumours disappear or he would not take it lightly.

When he went to the Castle he was restless and frustrated but he remembered how Kate helped him to prepare his speech so he sent one of his bodyguards to bring her to the prince's quarters so that he could thank her for helping him.

He was pacing around his room when Kate knocked on his door.

"Come in." He ordered and Kate sheepishly walked into his room. As usual, she was terrified because she knew what always happened whenever she came to this room.

As Prince Calvin was about to approach her so that he could thank her for helping him she ran out of his room shouting and one of Prince Calvin's bodyguards shot her in her chest thinking that she harmed the prince.

The gunshot echoed throughout the quiet building and all the guards around became alerted.

Prince Calvin rushed out of his room to see what just happened. When he stepped out of his room he was shocked to see a lifeless Kate lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

He used his hands to cover his mouth, and he looked at his bodyguard and then at Kate's lifeless body.

He approached the bodyguard that shot her and held him by the collar.

"Why did you shoot her?" Calvin screamed at him.

Was Prince Calvin concerned?

"I thought she harmed you, your highness."

"No, she didn't! I am perfectly fine." Calvin stopped holding his shirt and started pacing around. "Do you know what you have done?"

"No, your highness."

"You've fucking killed, someone."

"What should I do your highness?"

"Are you fucking kidding me right now? It's your mess, clean up your mess by yourself." Calvin said and went back to his room.

And from that day on nothing was heard from Kate again, the house mistress and the maids did not know what really happened to her they were told that she secretly reassigned and left the castle and all of them bought the lie, but her friend Megan smelled something fishy about Kate's disappearance but she could not say anything because she knew she would be in trouble if she did.

  Anita the servant that hated Kate was cleaning a place nearby when she heard Kate's screaming, she knew that Calvin had been having sex with her often. She was terrified when she heard the gunshot and when she went to check it out she saw Kate lying on the floor in a pool of blood. She could not believe what her eyes were seeing; one of Calvin's bodyguards shot her.

Anita immediately hid so that the bodyguard would not notice that she was there.

When the rest of the bodyguards around came to the scene the bodyguard who shot Kate told them that she attacked the prince and that was why he shot her. They believed him immediately and did not even ask him any questions.

Anita hated Kate, but for the first time she felt pity for her, she felt terrible seeing Kate lying lifeless on the floor, she ran to her room, she could not hold herself anymore she let away into tears.
