Chapter 32 - Zeno Mornala, the western Guardian [I]

Next morning.....

Just like Lusha said, the rain stopped this morning. After the rain stopped everything for some reason felt very quiet. The lively that before the apocalypse was nowhere to be seen. It was as if this rain had changed everything. Billions of people have lost their loved ones and still continuing to struggle to survive in this new world. It wouldn't be wrong to say that these 2 days of prolonged rain have taken away many precious things from the people.

After having a light breakfast, Isaac gathered all the evolvers of two bases for a meeting. Now that the rain has stopped, finally, Isaac and others won't have to worry about their clothes being wet all the time.

Standing on the rooftop that was still wet from the 2 days of continuous storm, Isaac looked at all the other evolvers from two bases. From base 1, there was Aleesia, Levis, and Allisa and from base 2 which is also known as Mutant Base, there is Isaac, Luca, Owen, Scarlett, and Aymer.

"I think all of us here should start cleaning the zombies near our bases. The people are getting anxious and we can't always keep all the survivors in the underground shelter." Luca proposed this idea while looking at the faces of Aleesia and Isaac. To others, Aleesia and Isaac were the real leaders of the two bases.

Before Aleesia could say anything, Isaac spoke first, gaining everyone's attention on him. "I agree with Luca but I want to add something as well."

"Currently, as the number of survivors keeps increasing on both bases, we have to think of a solution to our food shortage. And this solution could be found in the west part of the slum." Luca, Owen, Scarlett, Levis, Allisa, and Aymer all four were people who spent their lives in the slum. So when Isaac spoke about the west part of the slum, all of them had their eyes widen in surprise.

"Isaac, you have to think carefully. The last time I heard, the food reserve was being guarded by multiple gold rank cultivators and more than 20 silver rank cultivators. Meaning, that you potentially will have to face a force that is capable of destroying a small town."

"Luca is right. The risk is too high. Without you, things would become very difficult for us."

"Also more than 50% of the population of the slum lives in the west. Since it is easier to get food."

"If you go there, the number of zombies you will face will exponentially increase."

"Do you think we have any other choice?" Hearing these words, everyone shut their mouths. Isaac looked at everyone's faces and replied. "Even though the risk is high, if we manage to take over the food reserve we won't have to worry about food anymore. We will be able to put all of our focus on killing zombies."

All these times, Aleesia didn't say even a single word. She had no clue what is Food reserve was. After hearing from others, it was clear that this reserve could solve most of their problems. Another thing that caught Aleesia's attention was when Luca told about gold and silver rank cultivators.

"In that case, allow me to come with you." Aleesia was getting desperate to level up. Normal level 1 zombies can't give any EX. Seeing that Isaac's strength was rising like a rocket, she wanted to go with Isaac to use this opportunity to level up.

Hearing Aleesia's words, Isaac secretly frowned. Isaac didn't like the thought of bringing someone whom he couldn't completely trust with him. The last time Elyon tried to betray Isaac. Isaac didn't want to go through the same experience once again.

Isaac was about to say no but then he heard Lusha's lazy melodic voice behind him. "Let her come with you. I don't think this woman would betray you. The chance of that happening is too small. Even if she tried to betray you, with your current strength you won't fall. Letting her come with you will only benefit you."

Isaac for a moment thought about what Lusha said. After hesitating for a minute, Isaac decided to take a gamble. 'If the daughter of Greadsorn tries to betray me, I swear I will give her the worst kind of nightmare.'

"Fine, you can come along."

"But if the two of you leave then you will protect the two bases" Luca asked.

Isaac looked at Levis for a moment. "Levis is the 3rd strongest after me and Aleesia. With Luca and Levis, there is no need to be worried."

Isaac then checked what class Luca had. For a second Isaac was greatly surprised to see how rare his class was.

"Also, you guys can't always depend on us. You all have to grow to fight alone." Isaac spoke without showing his surprised look.

"Don't worry, Isaac. I swear to protect the two bases as my life depends on it." Even without any proper training or experience, Levis was already showing signs of becoming a great general one day.

Isaac nodded his head with a satisfied look.

"Let's go." In the next second both Isaac and Aleesia disappeared from everyone's view.

Levis then looked at Luca who was responsible for the Mutant Base. Without any words, everyone here knew that Luca was the perfect choice to look after the Mutant Base.

"Owen and Aymer, you two stay with Luca and help him. While Scarlett and my sister are going to help me." After that, both groups went in opposite directions.

While moving towards the west, Isaac finally decided to check what class Aleesia had.

'Damn, no wonder the Aura around her is so cold. All of her skills must be related to Ice. I wouldn't surprised if she had Ice manipulation skill.' For a moment Isaac kind of felt jealous. Since 3 of his classes were not elemental-based, he didn't have any elemental skills.

Both Aleesia and Isaac were moving very fast. Both of them didn't use their full agility to move as they wanted to preserve their stamina for future battles.

"I have given some thoughts on your words." Aleesia broke the ice by speaking first. She was talking about the idea of moving to the Eastern Coastal region.

"After considering lots of things, I have to apologize but I can't come with you. I still have many things that I have to do here." Isaac was not surprised by Aleesia's words. If she decided to stay here, then it's her choice. Isaac wasn't desperate to bring her to work for him even though she has a rare mythical class.

For now, even Isaac can't just teleport to his territory. Even Isaac is not sure how long it would take him to go back to his territory. That's why Isaac was slowly recruiting people. So that once he returns to his territory, with the talented people by his side, Isaac can build his Kingdom as soon as possible.

I lot can happen in the future. There was still a chance that Aleesia might change her mind later on. At least for now, Isaac decided not to bring this topic.

Boom!

A loud explosion took place, destroying 10 houses in the process. Black smoke was rising in the air. The screams of the people and the roars of the zombies could be heard all over the place.

Bang!

The world west part of the slum was in chaos. Zombies were madly attacking the survivors. These zombies were not just any ordinary level 1 zombies, these zombies were high-level zombies. In these two days, the zombies of the west slum had leveled up many times to become very strong.

"Sir the situation is getting worse. The zombies are attacking and killing the people. Our current troops are not enough to hold back the zombies."

"Report, more than thousands of people has been turned into a zombie. if the situation continues, then it won't be long before everyone in this shelter turns into zombies." There was a man sitting on the chair and listening to the reports of his subordinates. This man had the same fierce Aura of a wild lion that Xaivon had. But this man was calmer, was more intelligent and talented than Xavion.

When King Liam gave the Greadsorn family some of the guardians, along with Xavion there were some other guardians who were also dissatisfied and swore their allegiance to lord Greadsorn. But this man wasn't one of them. In fact, he was very different from Xavion and other guardians. While other guardians were trained to serve the Aetas Empire, he was personally trained by a certain powerful figure to serve a certain person.

He has been waiting for the day when that person will finally appear so that he can serve that person as his King.

"It looks like I will have to go and personally push back the zombies." The man was tall as 6 feet giant. Unlike Xavion, he was wearing silver color armor and was holding a rusty old greatsword just like Levis.

He had a long brown beard that reached his chest. His hair was cut like the Vikings on Earth, Temple Shave. He was about 40 years old. His explosive muscles with his stern face made him look like an iron wall. His name was Zeno Mornala. He was also known as the Western Guardian of the Eastfox city.
