Immortals: The Curse of Samsara

"You have all the power in the world. The money, the strength, the charm. But what does it matter, when you are fated to a life of eternal misery? To repeatedly live a loveless life? Wherein everyone - and everything - you love dies and fades away with time?" For as long as Jason can remember, he has been a killer. Raised as a child soldier, he was trained in the arts of murder as a mercenary, an assassin, and a bodyguard. In short, his life was anything but dull. Yet his greatest wish was to live a normal life, date a normal girl, have a moment to breathe and relax. His wish was to be a normal boy, no, a real boy and not some weapon. But his thirst for strength led him to the path of both the scientifically psychic world and the mystically supernatural world. One day, he is entrusted to protect a young girl whose entire family was murdered. Two years after taking her as his sister, Jason tries to lead a life that's as normal as possible in the most technologically advanced city in the world, Sanctuary. However his newfound freedom is threatened when his past comes to haunt him, and his hunger to join the extraordinary life once more begins to consume him. As enemies from both the worlds of supernatural and science come crashing down upon him, Jason must make a choice, and choose which life he'd rather have. An uneventful, normal life. Or the life of the impossible, where dog eats dog, and only the strongest survive. "There are no good people or bad people. No heroes, no villains. Just people. People doing what they believe is right. From their perspective. Their experience. Their upbringing. Their nature. Their nurture. But there are monsters out there ... monsters who just want to watch the world burn. Wanna guess which one I am?" Cover art commissioned by me and made by ArtofLariz from DeviantArt. Warning: This is an 18+ novel with detailed violence and mature scenes. Spoiler-not-a-spoiler: The story will eventually leave the urban fantasy setting and head into high fantasy. Because of this, supporting characters may be written out as the story progresses forward, so please don't get too attached. (Possible side-effects to attachment may include crying in public and blaming ninjas, swearing out loud in a bus, smashing your pc's keyboard, or chucking your phone at the wall and almost hitting your mom. Chapter 45.4

"Hey, Jenny -" Elizabeth, who was covered in a towel, exited the bathroom but stopped abruptly when she saw Jason's aura.

"Lizzy," Jason greeted her but Elizabeth remained silent. Noticing that Jenny was still clinging to his arm, Jason sent a shock of electricity through his body, shocking her hand away. "Good to see you, again. Let's talk."

"I'm all ears, Jason," Elizabeth answered with crossed arms and Jason raised an eyebrow while Jenny grumbled in the background amidst massaging her numbed arm. Tommy was ready to fight but couldn't move as Jason used his killing aura to immobilize him.

Jason? Damn, she's pissed, Jason thought, ignoring the two bystanders and focusing on Lizzy. He noticed how she didn't call him with her usual endearment of 'laddie'. Turning to look at the other two, Jenny and the shirtless man whom he didn't even care to know, Jason impressively turned his focus back to Elizabeth with a strained smile.

"Alone," Jason stated before hastily adding, "It's about why you came here in the first place."

Elizabeth tilted her head while biting her lips when she heard Jason. Unlike the other two, who were assuming that Jason was hinting at their relationship, she knew what he actually meant; he was referring to her business with Katelyn, the mission Morta gave her.

Closing her eyes with a sigh, she turned to Jenny and the shirtless man while gesturing with her head. "Jenny, go check with the manager about our reschedule. Tommy, go with her and keep her company."

As the two left the room, Elizabeth, with a tug, pulled the towel covering her body off, revealing her gorgeous body in all its glory. Jason's mouth became dry as he watched her with rapt attention. He gazed at her toned legs, which weren't too thick nor too thin, before moving upwards. Her now fiery garden was perfectly trimmed into a strip that seemed to point downward to her honeypot. He moved his intense gaze upwards, to her hourglass hips, her thin but toned waist, then to her abs. He admired the lines that barely formed a six-pack before moving upwards to her bountiful breasts that were standing up pert. Jason's eyes lingered on the twin red cherries poking from her breasts before Elizabeth turned around and away.

"Well? We're alone now," Elizabeth said as she walked to her bedroom, barely aware of Jason's smoldering stare. He watched her walk away, his eyes locked on her pert behind before he sat down on the dining table in an effort to try and calm himself down from the raging boner he now had.

"I need information," he said after some hesitation. He took an open wine bottle from the table and sniffed it before pulling away; it had clearly been left out in the open for a while.

"Oh? Yer Masters can't tell ye?" Elizabeth's snide comment about the Council came from the room as he listened to the rustling of her clothes.

"You were hunting Katelyn. Why?" Jason asked after a moment.

"It's Morta business, Jason. I dun' have an obligation to tell ye," Elizabeth came out of the room wearing a chic lavender cocktail dress. The v-neck splendidly accentuated her bursting bosoms and Jason, like a man under a spell, dazedly had his eyes fixed on them. Despite having seen them laid out before him, Jason couldn't help but have his mouth water. Elizabeth sat down and noticed where Jason's gaze was transfixed, and she leaned back while placing an arm around her chest, blocking his view.

"Ahem. Then let's talk about something else," Jason coughed awkwardly to cover his lecherous gaze. "What about our marriage?"

"Ye still have the gall to mention that? While ye keep them around ye?" Elizabeth laughed coldly as she asked him about the girls who surrounded him. "While ye have a child?"

"Lizzy . . . it's not like - hmm - it's complicated," Jason replied, but his eyes were refusing to meet hers as he gazed past her forehead.

"No, it's not. It's real simple, ye can't let yerself be tied to one lass, or place," Elizabeth stated bitterly. Her hand shook as she reached for a bottle of wine and a glass. Pouring a generous amount, she drained the glass in one shot before turning to Jason. "Ye can't be satisfied with just one, can ye?"

"That night, what I said that night and the next morning, I meant it," Jason said. "I meant it, Lizzy, I lo - ahem - I care about you and I just - You can stay with me."

"I didn't realize it before, but yer so full of shite," Elizabeth sneered when she heard Jason stumbling on his true feelings and looked away from him; if she kept staring at him, the urge to punch him would only increase.

"I'm full of shit," Jason's adam's apple trembled as he repeated Elizabeth's sentence with a pained sigh. "Huh. That's rich, coming from the woman who would seduce men while keeping me as a boytoy."

"What did ye say?" Elizabeth asked in a quiet voice.

"You think I didn't know how you assassinate your targets? Like a mantis, you'd seduce your targets before killing them. And you asked me why I was so distant from you, why I never told you anything?"

Jason was too angry to mind his words, and he knew that his comments sliced through her heart when he saw her stunned and hurt face. He knew that Lizzy would kill her targets before they could actually bed her, but he still mentioned it. Even now, he was suspicious of what Jenny said, of Lizzy sleeping with other men; he had A.V.A surveillancing both Melanie and Lizzy and she never mentioned the latter doing anything with men other than flirting to make him jealous. He also knew Lizzy better than almost anyone on how she loathed men for the longest time due to her scars. Regardless of what he suspected, Jason still brought up her wounds while she brought up his.

"Don't ye dare say that ta me, not when ye rut with everyone and everything in yer sight!" Elizabeth slammed her fist down on the table as she shouted in a low, angry voice.
