Family ties.

At the dinner table , only the he sounds of forks cluttering with plates could be heard. There was occasional talk but it soon died out. It was an awkward situation for Alec but it was more so for Gwen as Freya kept talking to her only.

" So...what do you do for a living?"

Just then , Alec choked . He knew how cautious his mom was about profession and family background. Freya offered him a glass of water .

" Eat slowly. "

Gwen smiled and sipped the wine before her. She'd lied many times before about her job...one more time wouldn't hurt.

" I'm a photographer. It's nothing much , but I love it. "

" Oh , not bad. Alec and I should surprise you at work one day, shouldn't we ? " She patted Alec's hand.

" Mom , I think that's enough for today. Gwen has to rest , she's still recovering." Alec placed his cutlery down.

Freya frowned . She was enjoying her time with this new friend of hers. She did notice the dressing on her forehead but she didn't want to ask incase it was something personal. But now that Alec had brought it up...she has to ask.

" I noticed your injuries. How did you get hurt ? "

" She fell down the stairs. " Alec blurted before Gwen could open her mouth.

The surprising thing to Gwen was how he kept a straight face when it was clear as day that he was panicking. She was the one who was supposed to feel nervous but Alec was doing a better job than her. She fought hard not to burst out in laughter.

" Good night , mom . See you tomorrow. " Alec pecked Freya before holding Gwen's hand and leading her away.

Freya kept looking at the two . She'd never seen Alec so nervous. She didn't know whether it was a good or bad . All she knew was that this girl had an effect on him...and her as well.

Gwen sat by the window in Alec's room. The cool air was refreshing but then it crossed her mind that she hadn't talked to Bain the whole day. That wasn't usual and she didn't want him to worry. She dialed his number and waited for him to pick up. She knew he wouldn't answer so soon since she was using a new number.

" Hello ? " He'd answered . Gwen smiled when she heard his voice. She couldn't go a day without it.

" Bain , it's me. "

" So you finally got time outta paradise to call me , huh? How's lover boy?"

" Wait , how did you know I'm with Alec ? ."

" Marylynne told me. " Bain was silent for a while . " Does he treat you right ? Are you happy? "

Gwen could sense the concern in his voice . His words made her eyes tear up.

" Yes , he treats me right and makes me happy. "

" That's good to hear. I just want the best for you. You know I love you , right ? "

" Mm.." Gwen just hummed in response as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

" Don't cry. You're a tough girl . " Bain laughed over the phone. " And about work...I don't want to see you here any time soon. Take a short vacation , okay. Come back only when you want to."

He hang up on her and Gwen looked out the window and closed her eyes to get a hold of her emotions.

" What's the matter ? " Alec sat next to her and pinched her cheek.

" Its nothing much...I just got emotional talking to Bain. " She wiped the tears that were still there and looked away from him.

" You can cry in front of me? " He held her chin up . " I think you look beautiful when you get emotional."

" Fuck you. I look horrible when I cry." Gwen laughed as she wiped her tears .

" You're just really good at ass-kissing, Mr. Reinster . "

Alec moved closer and kissed her. " If you give me a chance , I can show you how good I am at ' ass-kissing '. "

" Really ?"

Alec noticed the change in her voice . It sounded seductive and the look in her eyes made him hold his breath.

Gwen made circles on his chest with her finger as she locked eyes with him. She kissed his collarbone and sucked on it . Gwen felt Alec hiss as she bit him.

" Calm down. "

Gwen held his hand and led him to the bed and Alec obeyed. She made him sit and she slowly took a few steps back . She undid her ponytail and let her hair fall to her back. Her fingers played with the zipper at the front of her crop top and she watched Alec's eyes follow as she moved the zipper down.

" Can you help me out ? "

Alec was barely holding on to his senses. Gwen was driving him mad . He wasn't sure he heard her question right.

" Help...Help you with ? " Alec swallowed. His dick was throbbing and his throat was dry. He wanted to tear her out of those clothes and make her scream his name. He was itching to pounce on her but he was interested in the game she was playing.

" Help me get out of these clothes. " She said this so innocently that Alec wasn't sure they were in the same page.

Gwen had a smirk on her face and right then , she bit her lower lip. Alec felt his heart stop when she brought him to his feet and guided his hands to her waist.

" What are you waiting for? An invitation? " She whispered sweetly.

Alec leaned in to kiss her but she turned and placed her back to his chest.

" I asked you to help me with my clothes . "

Alec slid the crop top off of her body. He could see her gorgeous cleavage from the back . Luckily he was tall .

His hands took off her bra next . Gwen could feel his hard erection press on her lower back and she felt tingles run down her spine. Alec moved her hair to one side and kissed her bare shoulder.
