Chapter 3: Take Over the Barrier Lady

The next day.Kevin returned to the deserted place he went to last night. Earlier at his house he had made some plans about what he would do. The main goal was to earn money. With the Barrier Lady's body at his disposal now, he could use it to register as a member of the Hero Association and do missions to increase his reputation. So that the salary she got would get higher every time her reputation increased.

As an example from her quoted from the Association's website, a Hero with a Rank E reputation earned a salary of $50,000 annually, with the supply of weapons and equipment from the Association. The higher the reputation, the higher the salary.

Alternatively, Kevin can become a mercenary, paid by various parties to complete various missions, such as enemy clearance, escort.

After making sure that no one passed by, Kevin activated one of his power benefits to transform into the Barrier Lady. In an instant Kevin's body transformed into the Barrier Lady's body.

He became more than before, and what he felt from his body also became different. Now he was using a woman's body.

"Wow, really beyond my expectations," Kevin said. Now he was in the Barrier Lady's body using the pajamas that the Barrier Lady used when she slept yesterday.

"Uh oh, what now? I can't possibly wear these clothes, right?" He asked. He could have bought a number of changes of clothes if his wallet was still there, but now it was gone along with his clothes as his body changed.

"Huh, I knew this would happen," Helfen said. He seemed to have thought this would happen.

"Hmm? You already knew this would happen, Helfen?" Kevin asked.

"Yes. Here's your wallet." Kevin's wallet instantly appeared in his hand.

"Wow, is it also stored in the imaginary space when I use another body?"

"Exactly, when you use another body, your real body will be stored in imaginary space, including what you're wearing at the time, like your wallet."

"Good," Kevin said with relief.

"Before we start, I want you to go to this location." Suddenly Kevin's cell phone appeared in his hand again and displayed a location on the map.

Kevin seemed to know what Helfen meant, but to make sure what Helfen meant exactly, he asked, "Is this... the location of the Barrier Lady's House?"

"Exactly. I want you to go to her house and secure all her belongings, such as clothes, her action costume so that you can more easily carry out your purpose, and make it your base for the time being."

"Oh, I see. Thank you for your help, Helfen. But why don't we just use teleportation like yesterday? Wouldn't that be easier?"

"I can't, or I'll be wiped out if I do it again."

"Is that because of the "law" you broke?" Guess Kevin, he only knew that powers generally did not have their own consciousness. So Helfen's existence and what he did yesterday must be something special but it could also be dangerous.

"Exactly. That's all I can do, now I can't help you directly. You have to do everything yourself."

He chuckled, then walked to the side of the road to order a taxi to the location of the Barrier Lady's house that no one was aware of because the Barrier Lady always made sure her real identity was kept safe in such a way.

After getting there, Kevin paid for a taxi and then entered easily past the house's security system because it thought he was the real Barrier Lady.

Kevin walked around Barrier Lady's house, everything seemed normal. Then he entered the Barrier Lady's room, where Kevin killed her last night. Kevin didn't feel bad, in fact he felt happy that he could do that. In the previous and current worlds, he had a strange obsession with punishing criminals, and since these super villains committed crimes many times, they were not very forgivable because their damage was too great.

Kevin took Barrier Lady's costume that was lying on top of the small cupboard beside his bed, if Kevin used it and went out, he would be immediately recognized as Barrier Lady. Opening the cabinet, it contained Barrier Lady's clothes along with a number of her other action costumes.

Before doing more, Kevin sent a message to his family, that he would be staying elsewhere as he was hired.

After that, Kevin continued to explore whatever Barrier Lady had in her house. From the ID card that Kevin found in her wallet, he discovered that Barrier Lady's real name was Ming Ling. She was 26 years old.

"Hehe, sorry Miss Ming, but I'm going to make use of your body from now on, but don't worry, I'll treat your body well because I need it for my purposes," Kevin said with a grin.

After that Kevin took off the pajamas he was wearing. Leaving the underwear behind, Kevin actually didn't feel comfortable in this body, he preferred to be in his original body. But for the sake of a greater goal, something had to be sacrificed, namely his comfort. At least Ming Ling's own body wasn't something bad.

So Kevin put aside his unfamiliarity, he thought, 'We have to experience discomfort before we get the pleasure we want."

Then he took off his underwear and showered as quickly as possible, he didn't want her body to bother him now. After that he put on another set of underwear based on the memories Helfen had cultivated for him, then he put on Ming Ling's other most conservative set, a black shirt, suit, and trousers costume.

Looking in the mirror, Kevin recognized Ming Ling's beauty, but regretted that she was on the Villain's side. Now Kevin would act and register as a Superhero under Ming Ling's identity, while thinking of the next target, who was worthy enough for him to take their body. He felt it wasn't wrong after all.

Keeping things like wallet, cell phone in his pocket, Kevi- Ming Ling walked towards his garage where there was a sedan that Ming Ling (the real one) used to use in her daily life when she wasn't committing crimes.

Starting the car's engine, he drove it to the Heroes Association branch office 5 km away from Ming Ling's house at a slow speed as it was the first time in 18 years since he was reborn as Kevin.

'Here we go,' Ming Ling thought as she held onto the steering wheel.
