The skies were gloomy, and the air smelled like there was an impending death. It was the morning after the king sentenced the captured Fae death for espionage.
But Prince Leopold was not aware of his father's actions. He didn't know anything about the execution was about to take place. The prince was eating his breakfast, enjoying the company of his mother and father.
"What happened to the prisoner, father?" Leopold asked.
The king quirked his brow, knowing that his son had completely fallen head over heals for the Fae.
"This is no place to talk with such topics, my child," the king replied, dismissing the topic and leaving the room.
Leopold's mother, Queen Heart, held his hand and rubbed it comfortably, "Don't worry, my child. Your father will do the best he can so we can ensure the safety of the girl."
