Ch12 Anita X And X Andy

In a square small room, two people are talking to each other while laughing. These two are Akira and Ponzu who have been talking for almost two hours now.

" He is such... a weird guy," Ponzu said as she was calming herself from laughing too much.

" Right, But he wasn't that a bad guy rather he is such a kind and soft-hearted– " Akira then looked up.

" Wait... I heard something." Akira said as he motioned her to look up.

The two just stared at the ceiling and waited until something fell from it. The one who dropped is a girl with black hair in twin ponytails and green eyes. She wears a maroon tunic over a navy top and matching color pants, white earrings, a brown bag worn around her right side, black bracers, and boots. She also wears her examinee badge #111 on the top left side of her chest

As she landed she immediately took out a knife and looked at the two coldly.

" Wait?! We are not enemies." Ponzu quickly steps up wanting to lessen the intense atmosphere.

" This is the examiner's instruction." Akira said pointing to the board.

The black-haired girl slowly walked to the instruction board. She read it before looking at the two. " I am Anita. Looking forward to working with you two."

Although Anita's words seemed polite the way she looked at Akira was obviously not friendly.

" I'm Ponzu and this is Akira. Let's get along well Anita-san." Ponzu then took her hands and shook them.

( A/N: Ponzu personality in my view is cheerful and looks airhead but thinks logically and sometimes a bit playful. It is based on how she interacts with pokkle in the Chimera Arc.)

Just like how Anita looks at Akira. He was also skeptical about her. He realizes she looked familiar but nothing comes up to his mind. Since he couldn't remember her means that she didn't have any large influence on the series or an impact like how he remembered Pokkle and Ponzu because of their gruesome death.

' Let's leave that thought here and just focus on passing this phase.' Akira thought as he looked at the black-haired girl.

And without waiting for a second. A wall near the instructions board moved up like an open space for entrance. The three look at each other for a second before nodding at each other.

Since they all agreed to move on. Akira took the lead as a man and walked in the seemingly door.

' Since the examiner said, We only need one game to pass this phase and it's like a bonus game. There won't be any trap laid ahead.' Akira thought as he kept on looking ahead.

The path is small and kind of dark but enough for them to walk on without stumbling. Akira saw a light signifying the exit of the path.

After coming out from the short and dark path. The one who welcomed them was a large bald man, with a big nose and thick lips. He is wearing a light-colored suit.

" I'm Andy. I am also this phase examiner. Follow me." The bald man said then turned around to walk forward.

The three look at each other with a hand on their mouth. They are keeping their voice to come out or rather to laugh out loud. Anita despite how cold she look is also holding herself.

The reason why they are like this is because of Andy's voice. Contrary to how rough-looking is and by his large physique his voice is too tiny and high-pitched.

" Are you not following me?." Andy said gathering the attention of the three while also breaking their concentration of holding their self from laughing.

But the three stayed silent and looked at each other.

* Pfft*

" HAHAHA!." It was Ponzu who broke the silence with her laugh.

The two also couldn't help their self and started laughing.

" His voice! It's so high!." Akira laughed so loud that it ringed out the whole floor.

Ponzu and Akira laughed which seemed like an echo to ear.

" Shh! What are you two doing can you stop laughing!." Anita said sounding serious, if only her face didn't look like someone clearly trying her best to hold her laugh you would believe she was serious.

" But.. it totally doesn't fit." Akira said as he was already on the floor while laughing.

" What a funny voice!." Ponzu let out as just like Akira she is also on the floor now.

The two look really ridiculous laughing with all their might while rolling around.

Andy just looks at the two without much reaction. Since he had already seen enough like this, enough for him to become used to it.

It was also the reason why he created an ability to make use of this situation.

" Hey, you two! stop messing around." Anita shouted at the two who still laughing on the floor.

" Are not coming?." Andy said with a scowl on his face as he was already at his limit.

*Pfft*

" See! Aren't you also can't help laughing." Akira said to Anita who couldn't hold herself anymore.

" HAHAHA." The three laughed together. They look extremely happy if not for Andy's face which keeps on changing.

Andy looked at the monitor screen before nodding his head and using his ability. " Calm"

Calm is one of Andy's Nen Abilities. It is an ability that cancels out noises caused by him. This also applies to noises not caused directly by him such as objects being thrown on the floor and breaking or explosions caused by weapons. This ability can also be used on other people even without unlocking Nen.

The loud laughter of the three ceases to exist. A silence surrounded the room again.

Seeing that the three already realized that there was something wrong. Andy talked. " Just follow me!."

The three look dumbfounded at what happened. Akira even tried to shout but seeing that he could see a colored Aura coating his body. ' Nen Ability?'

He looked at his companion and saw the same colored aura surrounding their body.

Ponzu looks confused not understanding what happened. Anita on the other hand looked calm but inside she was panicking. ' What happened? All the noise disappeared in an instant.'

Even though the two had a lot of questions, they couldn't ask because something was telling them that it would be too dangerous for them.

" Just like what Lippo explained earlier. You just need to win one game to pass this exam. But he didn't include the fact that He was also a Prisoner Warden so the ones who will play with you is a prisoner." Andy explained without looking at them.

Although the three are laughing loudly on their own, Andy doesn't hear anything and the three can only hear their laugh.

– Monitor Room.

" Even though Andy's ability looks useless with his great mind and how he applied his ability makes it troublesome to deal with." Lippo muttered to himself as he opened another chip snack.

The four arrived at the squared stage seemingly a stage to show a performance.

Andy snapped his finger and looked at the monitor screen. " My job is done here."

Andy leaves the place without even waiting for the three to speak up.

" Guys..." Ponzu tried to see if others could hear her now.

"Looks like he already retracted what he did to us." Akira said as he looked at the back of Andy. ' The way he moved his Aura to surround our body is extremely stable, Although he look like a mob, he wasn't bad.'

" You can't really judge people based on how they look." Akira mumbles.

*pfft*

" You can stop now Akira!" Anita said as she still giggled while holding her mouth.

" That's right, Akira-san." Ponzu is also laughing with tears in her eyes.

The two laughed as they hit Akira's shoulder. They both misunderstood Akira's words.

" Huh?, What's wrong with you two?." Akira looks perplexed at the two before shaking his head and then looks forward to seeing people on the other side of the stage.

One of the people on the other side stepped up and shouted. " We've been hired to test you applicants. We are also given a right to choose what type of game we are playing."

" The game is simple to try and get the part chips from each of us by winning the game we decided and You can only play once. You can pick your turns, you can pass by getting all three parts of the chips from us." The coated person with a rough voice.

" But aren't that already three games?." Ponzu asked looking at the monitor screen.

" No, It was a single game where you would collect a part of chips from each of them to connect it and make it whole chips. And even though a player could originally play once, Since it was " The Path of Luck" One can play twice but only if you lose once. Do you get it now?." Lippo's face appeared on the screen.

" Can you please make it easier to understand?." Ponzu asked as she looked at the screen.

" Okay, Originally if you lost once you would pass this place to play a game to other prisoners. But because you guys take the " Path of Luck" I am giving you a chance. If you lose once but win twice. One of the two who won from your team can challenge the prisoner who won from your team." Lippo said.

" Does that mean, If we lose twice we need to advance to this place to the next game? and can I ask what will happen to us if we still lose to another group of prisoners?." Anita asked.

" That's correct, Nice question girl. There are three groups of prisoners I arranged in this route. If you lose to all of them, Then you will be immediately disqualified from the hunter exam." Lippo said in an intimidating tone.

" Then let's not waste our time and begin." Akira said as he stepped forward.

" Then I'm the first one to play!." The one who shouted then took off his coat. He was a man in his forties with a lot of scars on his face. He is also muscular enough to be mistaken as a bodybuilder.

" I am Rendon. The game I picked is gamble!." Rendon said as he jumped on the stage.

Before Akira could even manage to step on the ring Anita stopped him. " If it's gamble leave it to me. My father taught me a few tricks before."

Although Anita sounds confident her voice also contains a bit of sadness.

The two look at each other before nodding their head.

"Good luck!." Ponzu yelled.

Akira looked at Anita but his mind wandered from the game. ' Just need to win one game but it wasn't as simple as I thought.'

" Bonus game my ass! As expected it wouldn't be easy." Akira muttered to himself.

Anita walked into the stage and looked intensely at the Prisoner Rendon.

" Oh, I forgot to add. Our chips in our gamble is time!." Rendon said as he licked his lips with his tongue looking at Anita like he would devour her. ' A beauty to play with.'

Akira suddenly frowned upon the mention of time.

Two hours already passed and they became too complacent to the words of just needed to win one game.

To those who didn't notice, I used some elements from one piece. Just like a looking guy with a high-pitched voice is from Pica one of the three officers of Donquixote pirates. And Andy's Nen Ability is based on Nagi Nagi No Mi.

Andy is one of the third-phase examiners in the series. Although he was an unnamed character. But since he is qualified to become an examiner in the famous Hunter Exam I thought it wouldn't be bad to give him some screen time.

Oh, and I've been losing free time more than I thought. My schoolwork didn't leave me alone. So I don't think I can upload a lot of chapters a week. But I'll make it longer, like 1500 words per chapter.
